I'm from Kent too but we sound nothing alike. I think it's because you immersed yourself so well into the Japanese culture/language that you now have a twang when you speak English.
I surprised that she went to college and specialized in physics. I'm studying physics ,quantum machines and theory of relativity now. I read the book about theory of relativity written by Wald. In addition to, I'm learning English , Germany and French now. I feel a sense of familiarity. I'm a Japanese high school student grade1 and I think I want to grow more and more. If it can, I want to chat with her about physics,but probably can't. Thank you.
