In this concert, senior disciples of Padmabushan Shobha Gurtu, will present the entire range of the semi classical Hindustani music repertoire namely Thumri, Dadra, Hori, Kajri, Baramaasa, Jhoola , Abhang, Bhajan, Ghazal etc which have been sung by Shobha Gurtu ji.
One of Shobha ji's senior disciples, Sraboni, is one of the leading thumri and ghazal exponents of today. Sraboni is a Sangeet Visharad and a Surmani award recipient.
Another disciple, Nihaarika Sinha, is a Sangeet Vishaarad in Hindustani classical music from the Bhathkhande Sangeet Sheekshpeeth, Lucknow Additionally, she has received her training under Smt. Shashikala Kaikini, Smt Geeta Chanda, Pandit Dinkar Kaikini, and Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty.
Yet another disciple, Neha Chimmalgi, Neha Chimmalgi, is a semi-classical and a classical vocalist. Neha specializes in Thumri and its sub-forms and follows the poorab-gayaki of her guru & idol, Thumri doyeness Vidushi Shobha Gurtu.
Finally, Smita Bhagwat, a Surmani recipient, also received training under Smt. Shamal Ghatpande, Smt. Jyotsna Mohile, Gaanyogini Dhondutai Kulkarni. She also training in natyasangeet under guidance of Smt. Shubhada Dadarkar and Shri Lalji Desai.
Tabla accompaniment by the brilliant tabla artist Yati Bhagwat, trained under Shri Amit Patkar, Shri Suryaksha Deshpande and Pt Praveen Karkare.
Harmonium accompaniment by Shri Dnyaneshwar Sonawane trained under the harmonium maestro Pt Sudhir Nayak.
