I completely forgot I bought this upgrade kit, and wondered why my Ironhide didn't have weird red hip skirts like in every other Ironhide transformation video.
So glad I picked up these upgrade kits. The panels filling out the sides of the chest make the bot mode look so much better. Never like the indentations in the chest. It made them look like they both had side boobs! ugh. I like my ladies curvy and my bots blocky! Thank you Shadow Fisher.
Take one of the other screws to a hardware store. They should have an isle of little drawers with every kind of screw imaginable. If you're not certain, ask for help from the store clerk, they'll hook you up.
Thanks for sharing! It definitely makes Ironhide/Ratchet look better in bot mode! You're eyes aren't deceiving you, it is a little higher in the front.
Thanks for the review. I bought the upgrade kits when they first came out. I've been hesitant to put then on. I could see a difference in Iron hides red color ever so slightly. But after this. I'm definitely going to do Ratchets. Thanks again for the review.

That's kind of funny; I received my set for Ironhide a couple of days ago. A few down sides are: the panels don't have the seam for the doors molded in, and the sprew marks on the silver parts are facing up in bot mode showing visible white plastic. On mine the hinges of the panels are stressed and cracked because of the pins; they were like that right out of the package. Lastly, the colors are definitely not a match. So overall it's tough to say, that they're worth the small cosmetic change in my opinion.
@@TMReviews Yeah, it's not easy deciding. But, I figured I'd go ahead and purchase it sense I was also buying Ironhide. And I've got the kit installed now as well. I'll likely heat up the stress marks on the hinges to see if that helps; I've also used a silver paint pen on the sprew marks for the hip pieces, and surprisingly it matched their paint spot on. So I'd say if you don't like the panels on the hips, and you've got $20 to spare, then it's not a bad solution.
@@TMReviews Fair assessment. I just already had a paint pin on hand when I was doing the installation. I typically keep a silver, gold, and chrome sitting on my desk for touch up purposes.
Hey, thanks through the walk-through, man. Just installed my upgrade kit for Ratchet. My son did Ironhide for me nearly a year ago. LOL! Mine are both KOs. Ironhide was perfect, but Ratchet has issues. Both legs have knees that belong to the right leg!? Also, the right ear actually covers a screw hole. Mine is missing that cover, so glaring hole on that side until I decide on a fix for it. For now just have him posed with head turned to the right, like he is talking to Optimus.
@@TMReviews Bought it from a Chinese seller on eBay. When I told him about all the issues with Ratchet, he refunded me for the full purchase price of both figures.
I just got my sets yesterday. Granted, I have the KO versions of both, but the white on my Ratchet set is a bit off. So is the silver on the wheels. These guys will be in Bot mode 90% of the time, so I guess overall it's not too bad. The Ironhide set I got is a much better color match on the red. Will have to look at the wheels.
I'm surprised Emgo316 didn't review this upgrade kit yet. I could be wrong...

The diamond shape deiper is what is depicted in the cartoon. Not sure what you found strange about it.

I have spru marks too, but in most poses it doesn't show so I don't care too much.

I like the doors on the side. It looks like gun holsters to me. I guess it would help if the guns tab in there. 😁Kkkiihhh

Wow, that sucks you had all those issues, these kits are normally pretty good. Maybe get a refund from the retailer

The wheels look fine, but they sit a little to low
