    Some side by side images taken with a cellphone would also help. The Bresser (430 CAD) came with a cellphone adapter that fit smoothly on the 10X objective. This adapter also fit onto the identical 10X objective on the SWIFT (350 CAD) and I took images at the same magnification on both to highlight the quality.

    What about looking through the microscopes and commenting on the image?

    What other types of filters could you put in a inductory microscope (sw150, ss110 or telmu or any other indutory microscope) in the filter hole

    Would it be at all possible to add a or make a dark field filter for the telmu microscope or no ? If so how would I do that?

    Thanks for this video. Would like a similar video review done comparing next level up or so as we're wanting to buy one that is a level or two better than these, such as in the Swift SW350T that you have in your amazon store. But of course how to get the items in hand!? You need to get Swift and other brands to sponsor you doing reviews of such items. :)

    oh, and another thought for something you might do in an upcoming video is help explain & exemplify features in scopes such as "Abbe Condenser" "Siedentopf Head" "Differential interference contrast" of course all these are 'google-able' but would be appropriate content for your channel. I appreciate how you actually exemplify visually rather than just describe. i watched a 'review' video made by someone else of an Omax and he never once even showed what one can SEE looking thru the scope (he just talked about the scope without getting some pictures/video of it's capability). thank you for not doing this but actually showing what the scopes can do, very helpful. i especially appreciated your 'expensive scope' vs 'cheap scope' comparison where you had side by sides of the same specimen.

    Hello, Microbehunter. I've been enjoying your videos and appreciating your tips. I've just purchased the Swift SW150. It is full metal construction, including the stage, except for the battery base and focussing knobs. It has course and fine focussing and safety stage stop adjustment; bottom and top illumination with dimming capability; 40x, 10x, and 4 x objectives; rotatable turret; two eyepieces, 10x and 25 x; batter power and mains with a usb mains plug and cable. It also has a prism. I'm really impressed with it. It weighs 1.507 kg, including batteries and plastic dust cover.
    I don't intend to upgrade from this, as my main hobby is bushcraft, but I do have a curiosity about the microscopic world, which is why I bought this scope. I am hoping to see how clean or dirty some natural water supplies are for when I go out on bushcraft (Survival) long-stay outings where and when it is not possible to carry lots of water with me, and to see how well my home-made moss and charcoal filters work by viewing the water before and after filtration through my scope. I am interested in using it for other things as well, like looking at wild natural foods, like berries, plants and fungi etc. If you have any tips in those areas, it would be great to hear them. Thanks for everything so far.

    Hi i wanted to know which one is better telmu or ss110 or sw150

    • @MicrobehunterMicroscopy
      @MicrobehunterMicroscopy  2 роки тому

      The sw150 has better optics. The objectives are larger and especially the 40x is better.

    can you provide a link to a USB microscope camera or phone adapter for the National optical/swift microscope? i want to buy that one but i also want to be able to take pictures. Thank you

    If I got it clearly, Swift could be a little bit better in terms of image quality, right?

    • @MicrobehunterMicroscopy
      @MicrobehunterMicroscopy  4 роки тому +1

      Both microscopes are quite introductory and could have a better image quality. But one always has to consider the price. For kids, basic fieldwork, home schooling, etc. they are good for the price, but serious amateurs who spend more time behind the microscope will certainly go for something more. The lack of a condenser makes the image quality of the 40x significantly lower.

    Can I see bacteria with the swift microscope, and what about 2500x what does it mean ? Thanks very much

    • @MicrobehunterMicroscopy
      @MicrobehunterMicroscopy  4 роки тому +2

      Bacteria are very difficult to see with both these microscopes. The resolution is not very high. The total magnification of 2500x is exaggerated, as the highest useful magnification is about 400x. Both microscopes do not have a condenser and this reduces contrast. For the price these microscopes are good, however, but they are introductory microscopes.

    which is sharper

    • @MicrobehunterMicroscopy
      @MicrobehunterMicroscopy  5 років тому

      Both the same. The 40x objective in both cases is much less sharp than in "better" microscopes but this is largely also due to the lack of a condenser. For the money still very usable though.
