This one actually does sound like it's supposed to describe the feelings of a tomboyish girl in love. The other one fits Cirno more, while this one fits it's name more.
@@floof5359 SC-88pro but you're right, ZUN pretty much finished EoSD when he got his new synth and decided to arrange them as WAV format. But the original are the MIDI version
Hmm... While I certainly do not _dislike_ the original, I do believe that I prefer the WAV arrangement over this original MIDI version. I find the arrangement to be much more, "icy".
Although, I must say, the drums in the beginning of this original theme are quite invigorating, and are rather reminiscent of Knuckle's themes from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles/Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
1:26 Touhou 1 strange oriental discourse lol (i don't think this is better than the Wav version but it's decent. At least it's not the atrocious MIDI version that's played through built-in Windows instruments xD)
I agree, I've always felt like something was off with Cirno's theme in the release, but this sounds so clear. I still prefer the released versions for the other tracks though
Not sure if I understood. My videos are the in-game MIDIs played on the SC-88Pro, the hardware they were originally made for. The WAV versions are arrangements yes, and on top of that they were recorded with a newer synth.

Yes I agree so muchhh
Maybe it's the key change.
yeah, this is one semitone lower than the “arrangement”(wav) version
i like the drums more in this version
Its clear that ZUN was still connected with midis, as this was the first windows touhou game.
Hey, this sounds better than the original, especially how the instruments are balanced
ShinkoNet no the original is better.
this is the original
technically correct!
nope! ZUN get the SD-90 after developing scarlet devil! at this point he was still using his SD-88

Wow this is a lot different than the version i knew until now, and I mean that it sounds better
HOLY FUCK THE DRUMS IN THE BEGINNING I HAVE JUST ACHIEVED MAXIMUM HAPPIENESS
the MIDI actually sounds better than the WAV version oddly enough. lol

Ah yes I like the WAV version much better as it uses more enhanced instruments and has much more iconic drums
I like the drums/percussion starting with 0:34

so here's a question: are the .wav arrangements of the songs in-game just the midis played over an sc-88pro?

Yes, they are arrangements, but I believe they were played over an SD-90.

technically this is the original version, right? If so, I have lived my whole life deceived. As with the rest of the songs
both the MIDI and WAV versions are the original version. :v get your facts straight.
The MIDIs were made at least a year before the WAVs
ZUN got his SD-90 in 2001 so the MIDIs were made some time before that@@Mitzi-chan224
