There was an old man who had a son and one horse. They lived in a cabin in a small village. The horse lived outside in the yard, or course. One day the old man got up and saw that the horse was missing from the yard. His neighbors noticed too and said to him, “Oh no! Your horse has escaped, how unlucky.” The old man replied, “Maybe it is unlucky, maybe not. We will see.” The old man’s son went out that day to look for the escaped horse. He wandered all day in the surrounding country until he found the horse and brought it home. The next day their neighbors said, “Your horse is back! That is so good! But there are so many burrs stuck in its mane and tail, that is too bad. You will never get them all out!” But again the old man replied, “Maybe it is bad, maybe not. We will see.” That day the old man’s son spent several hours cutting and combing the burrs out of the horse’s mane and tail. When he was trying to pull one especially stuck burr out of the horse’s tail the horse kicked the boy and broke his leg. The old man’s son cried out so loudly that the whole village heard and came running over to see what had happened. “This is terrible!” The villagers said. But again, the old man replied “Maybe it is, but maybe not. Who can say?” And that night the villagers grumbled to each other, “That poor boy; his father doesn’t care about him at all. What if his leg never heals? That old man is too cruel. He must be going senile.” But the next day a recruiter came through the village and ordered all of the able-bodied young men to pack a change of clothes and any guns their family might own and come away to fight in the war with a foreign country. It was an unjust war and their own little country had no hope of winning. Everyone in the village cried for the men who had to leave, for it was certain that very few if any of them would return, and those few who survived would be forever wounded in their hearts and minds. When the recruiter came to the old man’s house and saw the old man’s son with his broken leg, the recruiter said, “It is too bad that your leg is broken son, you are just the age of boy we need fighting on our side. But you would just be a burden to us. How unlucky.” But the old man said nothing, for he was thinking, ‘To the contrary. I am glad that that horse escaped and went walking through the brambly countryside, it has saved my son's life.’
Thank you for posting this. My friend once told me about this Zen proverb. I call it the “Maybe Story.” It’s true how something “good” can be unlucky, and how something “bad” can be the best thing that ever happened.
This read reminds me of an old northern saying "he/she is that jammy (lucky) they could fall down the 💩 house (toilet) and come out with a gold watch!" 😅😅 🎉🙏🏼🍀
Literally sitting here thinking of why did t it work? How can he just walk away and be fine? I had a dream about him last night where we were talking and I guess that stirred it all up again. I keep thinking if I just knew how it would ultimately end, I could give up. It's really pathetic to love someone who choose not to love you, yet here I am... I guess it's needed this one tonight as my reminder To keep moving on.
I learned a new skill due to my overflow pipe leaking water down the brickwork yesterday. The toilet was holding too much water around the flushing mechanism so after watching a few UA-cam videos I fathomed out how to lower the water level and saved myself a £60 Plumbers visit just by tweaking a few parts so a good lesson out of a bad situation 😁xx
@@Gemstonetarot I lived on my own for quite a while so I did pick up a few skills rather than relying on friends or paying for something that would be sorted easily. Saying that I learnt a lot from my Dad who was always keen to make me independent. Things like pumping up my tyres, checking my oil and water on the car all put me in good stead 😀xx
This reading was fabulous BTW. I am a scorpio and I love your bit about how water has to move and when it doesn't it becomes mucky and gross. I had to reconnect with my daughter's father. It was a very toxic relationship and I left him. And this really resonates with me. It's also about social constructs and how it's not what it seems. True love and connection has nothing to do with what everyone else is doing. It's about how you connect with that person. I have reconnected with an incredible man who has also been through a very crappy relationship. And we are both cleaning out the old and bringing in the new.
"True love connection has nothing to do with what everyone else is doing. It's about how you connect with that person " ✨️ Thank you for this. I'm leaving a marriage that many of my friends don't understand why. He's got a good job, provides for me, loves me(as best as he is able) ...yet, the connection between us has grown more and more sparse over the years. There is a huge lack of emotional resonance. I need more- for even having Noone would be better than being so disconnected.
And just because this reading is plumb full of gems, I'm rewatching. And as you say in the beginning, "I'm declaring spiritual big jobs," I can't help but hear; Spiritual Big Logs sorry 😂
I bought a carpet and upholstery cleaner and plan to use it on my day off tomorrow, I wonder what will come to the surface 😂 Horrendous shifts at work at the moment in full PPE due to covid outbreak. I'm thinking about changing jobs, again! Thank you Gemma 💖 from Australia xx
Honestly feel like this was for me, broke up with my partner today, such a mess and so much sadness, good to remember that we don’t know is what is or isn’t for the best and to look the the light x
Yes. Break up...but the kind a dream that was supposed to come true. At least I thought so.. Cathartic for sure. 😢 Processing.. 🙁. Glad moon is in scorpio.. My rising sign ♏
Fantastic and profound reading, Gemma - well done, as always, but especially today. I love your clever conclusion and how it comes full circle with the “cleaning gloves.” Thank you so much, Gemma! Namaste to all.❤
Thankyou for the joy......... 😍Its so interesting that we get our epiphanies at these odd times, I love hearing other people's though. Mine is in the shower, hanging out the washing and driving the car.
😂 Loved all the toilet stuff 🤣❤️ Thank you, Gemma 🤗 I absolutely love how you explain everything. It’s all crystal clear 🙌😄❤️ Hope you have a wonderful day!!
If any of my neighbours disturbs my chi with unnecessary noise i always ensure that when i am going out to work early morning i leave a binaural beats meditation on playing through my surround sound speakers and sub woofer, it sounds like 3 hours of Godzilla powering up... your welcome! 😂😂

Love the shirt! I used to have something similar with 1970 scrawled over it.
