You are articulate. You are handsome. You are passionate. I am so grateful that you needed to be "true to yourself". I too am adopted. I too was involved in ex-gay ministry but am grateful that I decided to move beyond it.I appreciate the image of chosen family. You are absolutely right about embracing and loving yourself. No one can take that away. May you continue to honest and open about your story. MANY people need it.
Dave, thank you for sharing. Your story is truly an inspiration to those who have been disowned by those who "should" be the first line of support. This is what these kids need to hear.
I've been watching videos of "it gets better" submissions and its always nice hearing stories of resilience, of finding a world of love, and of proving to others that being different doesn't mean a life sentence of hatred and dejection. Good video you made and it was honest and non-scripted (which is good) and talks of moments you feel the world should know in order to peer into just a little of what you went through. Pity on your parents for not seeing you as the man you've become.
That's a beautiful testimony, thank you for sharing your story. We all have our own stories about coming out, acceptance, fears, demons and battles. Until we all find within ourselves the light, love, acceptance and strength to breakthrough and live a much lighter existence! This video is like 10 years old and it is still very current nowadays. Once again, thank you and I wish all love, light and a peaceful mind! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😘🌈
Thank you for sharing your story. It's wonderful to hear how you navigated such a negative experience and came out to be the beautiful man you have become! My coming out experience was not nearly as traumatic as yours, but was emotionally challenging also. You have inspired me to record my own coming out story. Thank you for that too.❤
Thank you. :) I ran away from home at 17 too. For different reasons but similar to lack of parental acceptance/stability. I managed to get Student Assistant (Canada) and made it through. Thank you for this video. I have family and friends who are gay. Your story is remarkable and I commend you.
@DaveCondie Ciao ! Dave "Amico Mio" ! Wow "Uomo Bello" you've shared a journey even I have a hard time imagining myself surviving! Though I know along my journey I've had to summon up some courage from somewhere, I cannot even begin to imagine having to endure "Reparative/Conversion Therapy"! Your share here is so remarkable, I'm certain it has and shall continue to help many others! It makes me, Bobby Griffiths' (Prayers for Bobby) old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here incredibly proud of you!
A truly beautiful video - I also had to learn the hard way to love myself. With evangelical christian parents it was a case of getting by until I could escape. I learned that in this world we accept and share love on our terms and live the fullest because we all deserve the life live. This project is so much richer for your posting, thank you.
I wish you all the best..but sorry, sorry it's such a waste ... so handsome boy that girls can't enjoy, such a pity ... of course this is a woman's thought....
Right on, Dave. Much love to you, so glad to 'know' you. (This is Leslie from Unstable, btw)
