Homeschooling family here, and venturing into the world of Waldorf art. Thank you so much for this video - it’s hard to know what to do when I’d never seen it or done it!
My boys' rooms are wallpapered in their paintings they did at school. Sooooo beautiful, so much warmth shines through them. Thank you for another wonderful video!
I've watched this video 3x now over the past year as I love seeing your story lesson, it's so soothing and warm. My daughter is 3.5 and we begin our watercoloring next month and I am sure to watch one more time before we start. I really appreciate this tutorial!
Thank you Sarah. I was a volunteer yrs ago in York UK and my ids whent t the Croft kindergaten. I learned to spin wool there. My granddaughter is 3 and we are artists snd crafters together 💞
Use Magenta Cyan and middle tone Yellow to creat a less muddy shades and and more harmonious tones! These are human eye primary colors, they’re the key to all of the shades we know. artist grade tubes of Aquarelle (translucent) or Gouache (opaque watercolors) shoud go well. You can also use cubes but I find it really hard for younger children to control.
This was so helpful! Thank you so much for explaining your process! I always wondered about the form painting vs just putting color on the page but now it makes sense to me!
I just watched your old video to get ready for my daughters K homeschooling and i was sad you didnt show the painting. You are a vendor for our charter program and im going to be ordering stuff for us soon 😍
Thank you so very much for this inspirational video. I now have the ideas and look forward to painting and story telling with both my teen and toddler tomorrow.
Thank you for this. My daughter attends waldorf school but schools have closed due to lockdown. Im looking for nice ways to substitute some of the experiences she might have had in school now
Thankyou so much for this! I’m planning to Waldorf hone school my children from next year and I have no idea how to do the art and craft projects which I know are a large part of Waldorf schooling. So this is very helpful. Also Thankyou for keeping your videos not too long but still keeping in all details and feeling unhurried 💛
Sarah ! I am a big fan of your videos and recommendations ) my wife and I are teaching English in a regular(waldorf inspired )kindergarten to non-natives kids ! We implement as many tips and tricks from the Waldorf pedagogy as possible, but for non native kids many Waldorf verses or songs or finger plays may be pretty difficult. Maybe you could give us a piece of advice or a book that we shall read ?)) In any case, your advice would be appreciated ! And the painting is brilliant , love and piece !
Hi Sarah, thanks for the updated video...is this the song you sang before starting? There’s a bridge of wondrous light Filled with colors shining bright Red and orange, yellow, green, The fairest colors ever seen, Blue and violet, magic rose; Down from heaven to earth it goes I thought it sounded close as I really couldn't hear the words well in the original video. I found a few other songs online about Tippy sitting by his mushroom and another about ultraviolet marine. What are your favorites to teach young 3-4year olds?
Thank you so much for the lovely demonstration! When doing it for the first time would you have them just watch your, or tell the story as you both paint?
Lol that's so odd of you to not like someone having a microwave in their kitchen! 😂 It's got nothing to do with you what she uses in her kitchen - and there's absolutely nothing wrong with having a microwave in the first place!
I’m loving your hands-on videos. Thank you!
Lovely story telling to introduce colors to kids. Thanks for sharing

You could try writing your own simple verses and even songs in the children's own language.
Dankjewel voor de demo!
I like these colours!
Great painting !
Hope you do it again with one color for kindergarten level
เยี่ยมมากครับ

Thank you so much for the lovely demonstration!

From Japan.I love you.
Thank you
Thank you for the video. How long do the premixed paints keep for?
❤❤❤
Hey! This was great thank you. Do you need to have a painting board? What about an aisle or just a wooden table? Do these paints stain?
Can you please explain what you mean by the child’s symbol?
merci !
Your videos are so wonderful! Is there a website I can go to print off the story you tell while painting?
Do you have info on the importance to of the primary colors for the early years?
I love these stories is there a resource for different Waldorf stories
Thanks for the video. Love it.
By the way, What brush size do I need?
Kay Amornsomboonsak I dont really think it matters as long as its a brush made for watercolors🙂
It doesn't matter too much, but typically we use brushes that are about an inch wide. The brushes we carry at Bella Luna Toys are 7/8in.
What do you do about the strong smell of the paint that develops after some time? Thanks any tips are much appreciated
Hello Sarah! Can I use gouache colours instead?
Hey Sarah my son is 9 months old when do u think it is appropriate to introduce painting? At what age?
Making monochrome watercolors
Be careful....some "mainstream" preschool teachers give their students good quality paper too.
Und jetzt das ganze bitte noch auf deutsch😄
What is the name of the brand who makes these?
Stockmar
