Ordered my wife one 2 weeks ago except we ordered it with the Kawasaki engine. I don’t believe in plastic cam gears in the toro engine Kawasaki tried it in the 90s didn’t work so well. My wife loves her new toro. I had major back surgery so I can’t do it anymore but my wife says it’s fun
looks good for the average person not wanting to spend alot of $$. Hydros seem really slow, but then again one is not paying 9,000$ plus. So for the price range should be a decent mower for the 3 to 4000 range
Nice job Jake! I have a summer property in Wisconsin about 2 acres wide open. I will really try and convince pops to get this when my Craftsman 42" takes a dump. Thanks! In the meantime I might buy the Matte Black Super Recycler next year for my business to mow 5,000 square foot lawns
I have a Craftsman that took a shit on me a couple weeks ago. I think it broke a rod or something. Either way, it’s in the scrap heap and my next one will probably be a Toro. I already have their 21 inch push mower and that think has been a beast this season. The craftsman only lasted me 3 months.
I've been eyeing this specific model since the springtime but haven't bought it yet. Just yesterday I got the itch to start looking at them again and I'm pretty sure I'm going to dealer within the next couple of weeks! I've got just under 2 acres and it's pretty rough in a lot of places which is what drew me to the MyRide system. I missed out on the "Toro days" $200 off promo they ran earlier in the season but oh well. Still looks like a fantastic machine. Thanks for the great review!
@@MeltingRubberZ28 It's awesome. It stripes really REALLY well on it's own. Before this season started, I put the mulching kit on it and I'm not sure if it makes it stripe any better, but it certainly does a great job at mulching the clippings. I did notice that I will have to scrape out the underside of the deck fairly regularly, probably once every month or two. I've been mowing at 4" but I'm starting to get some areas that are just constantly laying down so I will probably drop my cut a little bit this fall when the growing picks back up. If you were on the fence about a Timecutter, let me push you over because it's worth it!
@@Dardevle7 I'm definitely sold on it. It seems the 54s might be sold out for the year actually, which I'm not entirely mad about. My mower right now works OK, and I've heard issues with that oil drain tube breaking, as well as some of the spindle covers. I heard thru the grapevine that's being fixed next year. Yours has the toro commercial engine in it?
@@MeltingRubberZ28 I've only changed the oil once so luckily that hasn't broken yet. Although I could see that happening. I'm not a big fan of that set-up but oh well. And luckily the spindles have held up pretty good so far. Yes it has the 24.5 HP commercial V-twin.
Just picked this exact mower up last weekend. Curious if you are using the blade's that came equipped or did you go with gator blade's? I wasn't impressed with the stock blade's an changed them to the gator. It cuts a lot better now
Honestly I'm new to lawn care other then just mowing.. and I really want the super recycler... but I also have 4 acres of land I need to be able to mow.. (starting my lawn lawn off in a small section first) just to get use to all of the extra care im going be doing... eventually I'll have my 4 acres dominating the entire neighborhood
I have the 2018 version of that mower I love it I keep pushing it throw tall grass and the engien never stalled on me and I was able to get a bagger for it when did a deal on it because the dealer where I got it threw the bagger in for free

With regaRds to longevity and quality between Toro vs Hustler for small acreage regular mowing - do you have any experience on what would last longer especially around the deck ? Have had conflicting advice from the dealers. Went to buy a Toro and came home with nothing... yet. Finally any experience with the new electric zero turn mowers ?
First off, welcome aboard! This is my first full season with this mower and It did well mowing a little over 2 acres of grass a week. I have not used any battery powered zero turns yet as this partnership of mine is still progressing. In the mean time, great mower, works well 💯👍. I hope this was helpful.
Awesome video Jake. Now would you personally buy a ride on or a stand on zero turn mower ? An stand on equipment review on a similar machine would be great 👍.
those different speed settings do not make the mower go faster or slower. that controls how the transmission acts. so like if you put it on the turtle you make turns slower its basically for people not used to how the mower jerks, also for hauling because what its doing is raising the torque like a low gear for your pickup truck. just fyi max speed will not increase. hows the suction on this unit? have you tried cutting matted or walked over tall grass? my concern is mowing tttf as it seems to mat over and rot,
