did you ever notice that there is a story with the vintage toy based He man figures? We start with Prince Adam, then the Original He Man, then Battle Armor He Man, the thunderpunch He Man, then Flying Fist He Man, and then before the battle heads to space, we have Lazer Light He Man, and then New Adventures He Man, and finally, we come to King He Man.
I wasn't really sure about the whole idea of a "King He-Man" when I first heard about it. But, I love the bio and he looks great, even if the colors are a bit garish, as Snowmation put it.
Cool idea and looks like a great sculpt. However I wish the 4 horsemen would concentrate more on the POP back-figures. After all, we still want Kowl and Glimmer (at this point)
Ahahaha, King Mega Powers :'D Enjoyed all your reviews so far! As a big fan of the vintage toyline and now well into my thirties I just recently found out about MotU-Classics. It's my childhood all over again. Seeing characters like Fang-Man made into action figures still blows my mind :) Salutes from Central Europe
Hi buddy. I grew up in the 80-90's as well, and I've never seen He-Ro I & He-Ro II. And watching this I found: He-Ro I is an old Wizard Warrior from Preternia and He-Ro II (prince Dare, named after great wizard warrior) is a son of He-man (futuristic King) and Teela (futuristic Queen). Great story but all that comes with that new series from 200X. Hugs from Serbia! 🇷🇸🍷🇷🇸
Great looking figure. And I kind of like the different head sculpt. As we age, our facial structure changes, so why not He-Man's? Makes him look dignified and regal.
That's exactly what I was wondering, I hope they didn't make a mistake on this one, I probably would've said his name was King Adam, but I guess the ongoing comic series that starts in apri will lead up.......
IIRC, She-Ra´s victory over Horde Prime *is* part of the New Adventures storyline. It appears that in the MOTUC continuity, He-Man just goes to space, instead of also travelling to the future, and at a certain point, She-Ra goes to space too.
I can't be the only one to pop Prince Adam's sleeved arms off and swapped them for He-Man's to give him a muscle T. The gold wife-beater feels like a nod to my childhood.
I LOVE this figure! I have been waiting for this figure ever since the first announcement at SD Comic Con. I guess his face thinned out a little with age but I would have liked to have the orginal He-Man head with the new hair and beard. I think they could have done it especially after seeing NA He-Man, but again I can't wait to get him. Great review as always!
That's not the actual Power Sword, that's an electronic replacement made by Man-At-Arms that draws its power from technology instead of magic. So yes, it does make sense. If you listen closely to the review, you'll hear that the actual Power Sword, at that point in time, is used by He-Man's son (Dare, who becomes He-Ro).
The battle damaged of the Sword of power doesn't make since, because the sword is invincible I mean He-Man cuts threw volcanos, deflects laser blasts & snake venom without a scratch on it.
Nah, King He-Man is not made to represent the aged vintage-style version of He-Man.. He is sculpted to be an aged version of 200x Prince Adam or He-Man so we might already imagine how the face sculpt for those MOTUC figures will look alike..
Just thought of something. Dan, do you know if we're going to get a She-Ra character similar to King He-Man down the line? Queen She-Ra of Etheria maybe?
Thanks for the review! I kind of wanted this figure until I saw the armor. It just doesn't appeal to me. I was upset that it will be a subscription only figure, but I think I would pass on it anyway. The main draw for me would be the sword. You know, with the new stories they're coming up with for everyone, a new series using them would be awesome. It would actually have an arc from beginning to end.
The original New Adventures minicomic showed that that the transformation to the new He-Man was permanent. Since King He-Man is a later part of the storyline, it just confirms that yes, the transformation was permanent and Adam is still stuck to being He-Man indefinitely.
I'm really looking forward to this figure, but it feels too early for him if that makes any sense. Having collected this line since 2010, it's felt like a story was being told thought not just the bios but the release of the figures themselves. King He-man feels like he should be the one of the last figures, if not the final figure.
Greeting Pixel Dan! I don't know if you'll answer this, hoping you do. I am interested in customizing some figures and was curious how much of the figure besides the Head for the classic line is removeable or interchangeable? Like could I swap the boots on King He-Man to go with Skeletor?
The last sentence of the bio looks like a misprint. "He married Teela and together with their son Dare took over his father's legacy, as the new He-Ro, defender of Eternia and the wielder of the Sword of Power." Huh? That makes it seem like Adam AND Teela AND Dare All took over his legacy as He-Ro?
nah...queen veena was the original sorceress married to king grayskull. teela-na is the sorceress during he-mans time and is the one teela was cloned from.
Wait!! Married to Teela?? Wasn't Teela a clone made by Sorcoress who was married to he man's ancestor King Grayskull?? SO He-man kinda married his Grand Mother????
Nope. He-Ro "Son of He-Man" is actually She-Ra and Bow's kid, so he's He-Man's nephew. Which does not necessarily mean that Adam wasn't banging Teela, but it didn't result in any kids that we're aware of.
@@RockandrollNegro The father is not Bow, but Sea Hawk, and that only applies to the '96 Bible, Classics has its own canon, and the fact that Dare is Adam's biological son is taken from the '88 Bible in the that Dare was sent to Primus by his parents to save him from a greater threat than Skeletor.
@@orinanime No, He-Ro is the son of Adora and Sea Hawk, and He-Ro & Dare are the same person. But in the 88's bible and Classics, Dare/He-Ro is the son of Adam and Teela.
@@Soupan-in8hi i misread what you were saying. I thought you were saying that He-Ro and Dare were two different people with different parents. I misunderstood. So in one canon He-Ro/Dare is the son of Adora and Sea-Hawk. And in another He-Ro/Dare is the son of Adam and Teela.
enh, I had always imagined it would be King Adam instead of He-Man. If his son is using the power sword, would he still be, well, He-man(meaning still having superhuman strength)?
trence5 According to his Galactic Protector bio, Adam had to permanently fuse himself with the power of Grayskull. Why he had to do this isn't made clear, but it meant that he would never again be the lazy, spoiled prince he once was. Instead remaining as the super macho heroic barbarian he was meant to be. Though that hardly explains how Dare can still access the power.
@@UltimateThanos Going off of the storyline from the DC comic, this is from a potential future in which Adam remains He-Man for the rest of his life and turns Eternia into a totalitarian police state after defeating Hordak.
This Is a great figure, I'm not sure that It was worth my 90 bucks on ebay, but I must say, I'm in this game till the end, I will support this line till the last figure is released, I did pass on a few characters in the past, like Spector, and the vykron pack, but most of these characters are familiar enough to me that I can't pass. I just think, With all this talk about not enough subscribers and all is a buch of BS. If that Is true, then hopfully Mattel will start getting this line on the road
every one realizes that this is prince adam when he's king though adam and he-man favor one another they still have a few key differences between the two and that is probably why they look so different. but I like the different heads I would love to afford to get one of these. I've wanted one of these sense I had seen this video for the first time I watched it and I've watched this video like thirteen times since then.
So is this really 'King Adam' - or is Adam permanently using the power of Grayskull (i.e. he never lets the power return) to be acceptable to Teela? It would seem strange if he permanently was transformed as this would reduce the power available to He-Ro, wouldn't it?!
Execution is nice on the figure, but seems like the "battle-damage" is overdone. Why does he need a huge scar and patched up sword? Mixed feelings about such a shiny he-man.
Just to point out, There are two He-Ro's. I'm not sure why they gave dare the same name as the old enforcer, But I think that It's lame. And It confused the hell outta me till I did the research. At least I think this Is correct. Also Dare is The foster child of He-man and Teela. I could be wrong, since they change the stories around so much on all this stuff, But It's the knowledge I grew up knowing.. And knowing is half.. wait that's Gi joe.. Good Journey everyone...
Why does She-Ra defeat Horde-Prime alone? I envisioned He-Man/She-Ra defeat Horde Prime together cause it's THAT strong.Like I want the Power Twins to team up for at an enemy; She -Ra defeats Hordak herself;He-Man defeats Skeletor himself.....Also,does this mean Adam reveals he's He-Man and he doesn't ever turn back to Adam?,
Really the figure should be called King Adam, because of his secert identity that nobody except the Sorceress, Man-at-Arms, Orko & Zodak. Therefore as the rest of Eternia knows Adam son of King Randor is the rightful hier to the throne, not He-Man.
And quick get with the program, and get us the rest of the figures that were in the 80s toyline, If that's not the way it's going to get done for 2014 then I'm not believing the garbage talk.. And by the way If It's not true, then It's also not cool for Scott to drive us out of our minds with all the money we spend, and love we have for this line just to make more cash... So I hope that's not the case...
he is surelly married to teela for public image, that golden muscle-tee is really gay... mattel should finally say that the "masters of the universe" is the ultimate gay fantasy universe, get out of the closet please!!!! there is no problem with that at all, but you should say things as they are.
Absolutely love this figure since it’s seems to be partly based on the King Conan look , the beard , the rugged battle worn yet regal look.

Because in the Classics storyline, Man-At-Arms makes an electronic replacement of the Power Sword that draws its power from technology.
