Victoria para la moral. Los de casa hicieron uno de sus mejores juegos de la temporada, buscando despedirse de la Primera de la mejor forma posible, mientras que los de fuera no aprovecharon la situación del rival.
El Elche controló muy bien el juego en la primera parte, excelente trabajo defensivo, tuvo más ocasiones peligrosas que los visitantes, y consiguió adelantarse a pocos minutos del descanso. El Atlético tuvo sus mejores opciones en la segunda parte, intentó redimirse. Al final, fue un juego donde ambos tuvieron las mismas ocasiones, pero la efectividad y solidez defensiva jugó para los locales.
El Elche sumo su cuarta victoria de la temporada, demasiado tarde llegó el triunfo, ya con el descenso confirmado hace unos días, pero no les impidió mostrar garra y fortaleza el día de hoy. Mientras que el Atleti pierde luego de 3 victorias seguidas, y además pierde el segundo lugar general.
