I remember the #savefrankie campaign for the Freaky Fusion movie, I got so angry just because Frankie was getting so much attention compared to the others 😭

the anger and resentment i still feel for myself for selling all of my monster high dolls 😭😭 i had so many they were gorgeous and beautiful (especially the birthday version of draculaura and nefera!) but then i hit my ”too cool to have dolls” phase and sold them 😭 i’m 22 now and desperately wish i didnt do that. 😂

Grayson can I just tell you when I was way younger me and my sister randomly entered some kid's tv show contest and won 7 of the original monster high dolls (Lagoona, Clawdeen, Frankie, Draculaura, Cleo, Ghoulia and Deus) and I'm still riding that high till this day. I didn't even watch the show outside of the one day they were advertising the contest, so me and my sister had no idea we won until the package arrived

Rochelle and Robecca appear in ghouls rule because Friday night frights was originally supposed to be aired on tv in between skull shores and ghouls rule but there was issues with Nickelodeon and the movie was not seen until it was released on dvd in 2013. They appear on ghouls rule because it takes place after friday night frights

Posea is the daughter of Poseidon.. There was like a sea garden with all of the people in the sea's flower/plant, and Posea told Lagoona that hers was dying and she had to face her fear to save it or something
Skull shores was basically just a King Kong parody/adaption(like actually). And Ghouls rule was about racism^^
kinda unrelated, ignore if you want ig, but some of your dolls look like they have some glue seepage. its a really easy fix though! i still have my childhood lagoona, and i degluued her. basically mattel used glue that wouldn't fully harden to keep the hair in the head and it later meant the dolls hair would look and feel greasy. apparently it can discolor stuff too, but, again, really easy to fix. some people use baby powder(i didnt do that one so i cant attest to its efficiency lol), and others soak the girls in oxyclean or goo gone(i used oxyclean and it worked really well. i heard good stuff from goo gone too, though). i only have my lagoona so i reccomend you look more into it, but basically i just mixed some water with some oxyclean, bushed it through her hair, then let her hair soak in the mixture for about a day. after i thoroughly washed it out and her hair is just as good as it was when she was new.

@@enchantedspikes3342 Yeah i get that now after watching it 😂. We ended up liking it somewhat. Obviously there is a lot of goofy parts, mid CGI, and things like that. But I will say I saw improvement from the first one, at least in the budget sense. I definitely think it was rough though, and i see how it could be a disappointment to some.

Monster High has been my #1 special interest and I can provide some insight on some of the notable things that stood out to me. Friday Night Frights actually was before Ghouls Rule, or rather it was supposed to be. FNF was originally going to premiere July 2012 and GR came out Oct. 9th 2012. This didn’t end up happening because the initial premiere for FNF got delayed for about 1 year (to my knowledge there was never an official reason given). This is why in FNF Robecca and Rochelle are introduced the way that they are because it was genuinely supposed to be their introduction. Van Hellscream was actually somewhat of a celebrity, he was the (self-proclaimed) “top human expert on monsters” which is why Bloodgood knew who he was and was just chill with him being there at first. Valentines story was supposed to be much deeper and I WISH TO THIS DAY Mattel weren’t *cowards*. Long story short Valentine is gay and part of the reason he was well the way he was in the movie is because he was jealous of straight people being able to openly have/find/express love as well as a mixed in confused feelings since he’s *supposed* to like women as a man but he doesn’t. The resolution originally was supposed to be him coming to terms with his sexuality and embracing what real love is for him and ditching the fake love he’d thrown himself into to distract him from these turmoils. Mattel shot this idea down because it “wasn’t the right time” and “might be offensive” despite the idea being pitched by Garrett Sanders (the creator of Monster High) himself (iirc) and ironically Garett being the only openly gay person at that time being told this by a bunch of cishet executives. The team did eventually get to sneak it in as his SDCC doll’s diary mentions that at his fresh start at monster high (fixing his mistakes in the movie not going there yet) after not doing evil anymore he bumped into Spelldon Cauldronello and they exchanged numbers.

13 Wishes is one of those movies that I really wanted to like. And if it wasn't for the orientalism, it could've been on-par with Bionicle 3:Web of Shadows(2005) in my opinion.

I don’t ever comment on YT videos like ever, but I have NO one to dump this rant to so imma leave this here: In regards to Ghouls Rule, I’m actually so shocked it’s the lowest rating?? I honestly thought it would either be Skull Shores or The Great Scarrier Reef honestly.
Ghouls Rule is my favorite out of all the movies but it’s also my least favorite of that makes ANY sense. 😂🤚 It’s pros for me are definitely being based on Halloween (my favorite holiday) and being twisted into cool MH lore, like..that’s so awesome. And I LOVVVVE even more that the movie mainly revolves around uniting humans and monsters. I think it’s a simple yet very interesting concept especially when one of my favorite male characters is part normie. Leading into my biggest pro being that Jackson Jekyll/Holt Hide get so much screen time in this movie and is part of the main plot, as I feel he’s a character that often is overlooked and underrated, especially when it’s established in the web series that he’s Heath Burn’s cousin and..there’s little to no interaction between the two at ALL and really nothing done with that information. (Admittedly Heath is def ick towards Jackson as it implies he doesn’t really care much for him bc he’s a normie and literally undermines that fact in Jackson’s initial introduction and it takes Duece to be the one to be like “okay, why does that matter? MH is a place for everyone: don’t stonewall your cousin, dude-“ and invite Jackson to their table at lunch,but that in itself could have been SUCH an interesting dynamic for Heath and Jackson to develop and grow together as family. I actually really like Heath just for what he is, but I feel it could have added a lot to his own character and given him some actual depth as well rather than being limited solely to comic relief, and I really feel like this would have been THE movie to perfectly capture this dynamic and involve Heath more rather than the Abbey subplot, but it’s just lost potential.
Adding on to this. I NEVER hear anyone talk about the use of Jackson/Holt in the series or in Ghouls Rule and I honestly felt other than in the original web comics that in Ghouls Rule: THAT’S where his character really stood out, as both Jackson and Holt (mostly Jackson but honestly l love that being highlighted more than the monster side since that’s his normie side is his “flaw” by monster perspectives).
Leading to my biggest con and my conflicting detest for the movie, in my totally biased opinion that being the fact that afterwards..his character I feel is just totally butchered?!? 😅
He’s just reverted back to being a punching bag with little to NO screen time UNLESS it’s people reminding him that he’s a normie with no say and cast aside. Like…literally, he carries Howleen as like a slave in a scene somewhere in 13 Wishes?! Contributes NOTHING. It frustrates me so much the writers took such a fascinating character and threw his potential down the drain when I feel he’s one of the most interesting of the male cast! Ofc MH is mostly about the Ghouls=Girls but Duece has pretty decent character development and dynamic with other characters and depth to his character sooo? Idk, maybe it’s just a popularity thing?! I feel like after the Ghouls Rule movie that Jackson should have been included in further titles much more, and given him as himself and Holt more depth, like how they learn to grow and function as a whole together to further their interpersonal development. And I feel that Heath helping him along with that and learning to love him the way he is would have been so amazing to see honestly bc…MH has built itself on being for everyone even if the demographic was mostly tween girls, I feel the small portion of tween boys watching could have really used and appreciated that representation of acceptance for themselves by peers and and mostly by family being the so called “black sheep” and being different from the rest of them.
And ALSO totally biased opinion, but reigniting the flame with Frankie like they originally did in the web series?!?! Omg, would have been the icing on the CAKE. 😭😭😭 Maybe this is only me who feels this way but I honestly despised the way they kind of pushed the whole Jackson/Claire relationship in Ghouls Rule when I felt there really was no chemistry between the two other than ig like “opposites attract” but…to me it just felt so foreign and bland and completely unnecessary. It shattered me as a kid thinking the Frankie/Jackson/Holt train could kick off into development after being left to dangle in the web series. No one talks about that pairing and it PAINS ME
