“মেয়েরাও আজকাল বিড়ি-সিগারেট ফোঁকে!” - ভারতীয় মধ্যবিত্ত সমাজ আজও বিড়ি-সিগারেটকে পুরুষের হাতে মানায় বলেই মনে করে। তাই কোভিড-১৯ লকডাউনে ছেলে বাড়ির বাইরে বেরোতে চাইলে, মা ধরেই নেয় যে ছেলে বড় হয়েছে, বিড়ি-সিগারেট কিনতে যাবে, বলতে পারছে না। কিন্তু মেয়ে লকডাউনের সময় বাড়ির বাইরে বেরোতে চাইছে শুনে বাবা-মা দুশ্চিন্তায় আচ্ছন্ন হয়ে পড়ে। এদিকে ধূমপানের অভ্যেস ও তার উপর নির্ভরতা, সিগারেট-বিড়ির অভাব এবং নিজের পরিবারের ভেতরের লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য - সব মিলিয়ে মেয়ের বিরক্তি চরমে পৌঁছোয়। কিভাবে সামলাবে সে এই পরিস্থিতি?
It is not uncommon for girls to smoke like men nowadays though the Indian society still prefers men puffing cigarettes and bidis. So when the son wants to go out of the house amid the covid-19 lockdown, the parents assume that the son has grown up and will go to buy smoking requirements. But the same parents become severely worried when the girl also wants to go out during the lockdown. Meanwhile, the habit of smoking and dependence on it, the scarcity of bidi-cigarettes and gender discrimination within her own family - all together, the girl's resentment reaches its peak. How will she handle this situation?
