I think Dollar General always had the right idea. I know it’s not the best business, but I mean as far as pricing goes. They’ve always had a bunch of super cheap stuff, but then they also had like the more expensive stuff. They were prepared for inflation in a way.
I used to LOOOVE 99cents stores like 20 years ago. then noticed some items are so weird and most of ceramic sections have notification says under California low cancer cause chemicals are used in these mugs etc. and for past 15 years or so, so many homeless are living in front of those stores, so stopped going there.
Can't be called the Dollar Tree and sneak hike up prices. No need for the extra 25¢ and all the $3 and $5 items. If they stick with keeping things $1, they wouldn't have a problem.
It is a convenience store that I am grateful for. Without Dollar General I'd have to drive 12 miles to get anything rather than six miles to DG for the things I forgot at the grocery store 12 miles down the road. I live in the country in the south east. Our stores are thriving. We don't steal here and if we do, we go to jail and need bail to get out. California and New York governments created this problem for their citizens and since the citizens refuse to vote republican, I don't care. I don't care if they have to walk thirty-six blocks to get a loaf of bread. We are done with democrats.

True I live in a small city and the a.c. went out and it was in the summer so they had to close early cuz it was too hot. They don't pay enough to work there corporate does everyone of their employees dirty.
