I drew a pair of eyeballs that fit on either side of my camera on my laptop. It really helps me find the camera and look at it. 🙂

I'm so glad that you draw a distinction between looking amateurish and looking comfortable. I've seen plenty of people who were clearly getting started and new to being on camera but they were so comfortable that they were fun to watch.
