There does need to be a wild card slot; I don’t brand all my slots, as I leave one unbranded, for some additional flexibility. Because I’d hate to have to re-level a character if I needed change out a marked slot.
I'm trying to keep my Transcendent and Sub slots unspecified, and evenly dispersing the five types in numbers of two each, for both Descendants and Weapons.
I think the solution is simpler than this. Just make fully upgraded mods cost lest (instead of 16 to 13 /12) that way you don't need to polarize every single socket, this way you don't need to introduce a new thing that costs gold
I agree with you 100% and I like your idea as an alternative/option to have socket changes costing gold. While I also like the other ideas that I see out there (e.g., reducing module costs, universal sockets), I think yours is a middle ground of what the players wishes to have (flexibility without having to re-farm catalyst/re-level descendants) and what the developers want (for us to grind more). If they ever implement your suggestion, I hope they add more sources of gold (was thinking they could add gold into whatever rotating shop they intend to have when we convert our dupes into whichever currency, on top of other items). But of course, if they decide to just reduce module costs and have universal sockets, that would be better.
I find it kinda crazy that they started the game saying they want plp making broken builds but iim guessing not too broken bc cause some of these feel like hidden mechanics and not bugs but i understand sentiments and the act of exploiting but those get boring with more/less content ( if you dont look up bugs, you dont experience it or maybe dont notice as much) yt lowkey can ruin a game js
It sucks because when a player tries to be creative and explore build selections on their own, if it's not effective, people can end up expressing that they have issues with that player. Not only was the game having allowed for us to explore and go our own way, player for player, but the extent of challengingness is retained, and extending of the value of the earlier encounters for us, if we had chosen to go a lame path.
i do agree with all your points. One correction though, the 1 shot kyle 'build', didn't have anything really on it. You just max out your shields, as much as you can, even with no crystallization catalyst or energy activators on him, just get as much shields as you can. Then grab your tamer with max ammo, fire rate, elemental + mental focus, and you're good to go. The bug was zero investment, but maximum gain
the changes they mad to kyle to prevent the exploit is what ruined builds for people that already had him but so yes true if you just got him it was zero investment but it changed focuses on him pretty hard for some
I’ve gotten the platinum trophy, finished almost all bosses and just grinding but I don’t know why anymore lol. I tend to continue playing games I like that i platinum but I’m starting to feel like something is missing besides the drop rates.
A good video but a little misinformed on the recent glitch, the way it worked was you would reload a grenade launcher to proc the first shot buff, then fire another grenade off the map as the first shot buff wouldnt disengage until the grenade blew up, fully upgraded this would give weapons 3x damage which was insane on things like gregs or afterglow sword
The thing with the Kyle fix though was not necessarily a fundamental change. They didn’t change anything in his kit other than to fix his 4th ability which was interacting with weapon elemental mods incorrectly. This change did not do anything to his kit. He was/still is performing the way he was intended by the devs other than when a specific weapon mod was used in a particular manner. Which in turn made his 4th hit like a nuke. Now, does he feel a little lackluster, sure. Could he use some changes to his kit, sure. I don’t play him much but I do have him and think he is pretty solid at what he is designed for. Tanking damage and supporting the team with shield regen.

I think they have been pretty quick to fix stuff that is broken once it's made public knowledge. Other games will have issues that break the game for months before the devs do anything about it Edit as I watch the video: I'm at like 130hrs or so and I only have a maxed out thundercage, my bunny has about 5-6 resets something like that. And I'm now starting to work on ultimates but I've managed to do most of the content with just that... still havent played/got jayber, gley, kyle, esiemo, yujin, luna or any ultimate descendant So people don't need to ultra super invest and reset 12 times a descendant to be able to do all the content... I think it's a skill issue, people need to go and play truly hard games if they are not able to do all the content in this game with some reasonable investment into 1 weapon and 1 descendant. Optimizing and doing all the ultra specific things should always be endgame and people just either don't want to farm and just pay to speed it up (which I think is dumb because you are paying to have less of the game to do) or they want to do endgame when they don't even have some decent ability to play it. The game is far from perfect and I agree with a lot of what you say though... didn't want this to sound like I'm contradicting you. If anything just adding to what you said
What needs to change is crafting times. It makes no sense to have to grind out parts then they take forever to craft just to have to craft even longer just to craft the finish product
Imagine spending all that money on a ultimate descendant just to fully socket them and then mess up your socket spread. 😅😅 in games like this dont buy till the dust is settled . Build a few sockets on the staples and leave some options open. Dont buy just grind free . I have been debating buying . I have the money. This is the simple reason i havnt dropped 100s in this game. If i bought one character and they ruined it id wanna quit permanently. However just grinding it free i love it without having to financially invest. Just aucks id love to buy some but wont till the spam updates slow down.
They already said they will be adjusting how you locked in with sockets by giving new pages with unlocked slots . Dont understand why they would need to reimburse you mats for an exploit. You dont have to play the way a youtuber plays you dont have to play the same descendant play what you like how you like

Your argument is fundamentaly wrong, when it comes to compensation for character investment. Yes it sucks people invested in Kyle just for that reason but that's also completely on themselves. It was known fairly early on that it was an exploit, and the games code wasn't working right. I have a Kyle built up, I didn't move him that way because exploitation should not be the goal of playing a video game. If your goal is to experience the content in all its glory, why would you cheapen the BRAND NEW BOSS? If there is something fundamentaly wrong with the character then of course, but none of these characters have any issues like this whole video all you talked about was how it affected the bug, what's wrong with Kyle? Nothing, there's nothing wrong with most of the characters aside a few bugs left to be corrected. This rhetoric of buffing descendants or forcing the company to compensate exploiters is going to fall on deaf ears cause it just sounds like a ton of whining without any verifiable data. Do your Channel dawg, but have the integrity to speak on things in a truly neutral value because we can't get the most annoying things in the game fixed till the community stops crying about buffing anyone that's not bunny, gley, or lepic.
