Hi big fan love u bro
I have 120' screen in my living room with a Viewsonic 4K projector. Looks crazy like a huge TV even with lights on
What a super nice guy. Thanks for being so transparent with all your info. Its an inspirational theater, awesome!
Truly inspiring. I'm not a handyman but I'm not afraid to give it a try. I can't afford any of that equipment but aspire to build the best I can with what I have and will save up for what I want.
You can do it man
Anything is possible. Believe in you the almighty. If you ask him, he will give it to you.
Amen. Brother. A fellow believer here. You did a fantastic job. I’m just at the beginning stages of home theater. I have pretty strong b&w sound but now need to figure out a dedicated room . Thanks again sir.
Excellent video! Awesome home theater
What a cool room, great gear, and awesome guy. Could sense the Holy Spirit in him. Great Youthman video too!
Would you suggest planning out dedicated electric circuits for the rack, projector, chairs, lights, etc?
I did two dedicated 20amp circuits:
my JTR Subs-->Surge X (Power Surge protector) which has two outlets on it ---> 20 amp outlet.
The second: two amplifiers-->Surge X (Power Surge Protector) which has two outlets--> 20 amp outlet.
All other equipment in rack, chairs and lights are using standard outlets or circuits.
A fellow home theater enthusiast and a brother in Christ! Great tour and conversation! Thanks Michael and Damian!
amen
9 feet 168 inches is great for movies and tv, but dizzying for football or hockey.
That’s some serious equipment there - pretty much cost no object room. Would love to hear how it sounds!
Hello Trinnov? Yes, I am new to HT. So I just watched this inspirational video of another man new to HT named Damien & his HT. Wow. Trinnov, can we talk?
I’m not sure Trinnov watches my videos. 😀
@@Youthman Nonetheless, you and Damien managed to create an inspirational & aspirational video. Well done gentlemen!🦊
Appreciate it sir
I love how you and your wife make big decisions as a team. It also gives me hope for my future home theater.
My wife and I do the same. If we both don’t agree with it, we don’t do it. We’ve had a happy marriage for 25 years.
@@Youthman it's literally impossible for any married man to indulge in home theater unless you have a VERY forgiving wife LOL
Or you tell her to go shopping while you crank it up lol
Awesome room tour Michael and beautiful room Damian!!!!!!!!!
Great video. This is so similar to what I’m planning, with the exception of the speakers. Love seeing the JVC with a large screen. I’m planning on the NZ7 with a 162” screen.
That’s a massive screen. Make sure you check the online calculators to make sure the NZ7 has enough light output.
@@Youthmandefinitely. One website I looked at indicated good but will verify before starting.
Love Damien’s faith. I’m glad he shared that.
I’m not saying it won’t, just is a good idea to check.
Audio Advice and Projector Central have them on their websites.
Aayy, some Starke love! I have the SW15 sub and love it. Cool to see some nicer theaters using it!
Mother in Law Approved, Kudos
Really nice home theater! I love the JTR + JBL speaker setup!
@28:47 Hmm those GIK panels look really bad. For a "premium" acoustic panel I would expect better machining...
It must be the angle, trust me they are beautiful in person and well built. They are one of my favorite things to look at in the room.
Great room and theater. I like how reasonable all this was. It wasn't some over the top multi 100s of thousands of dollars or millions to build it. Seems like the kinda thing you could actually put in your house and not build a house for it. Awesome stuff!
Hey youthman! Can you do a review on the new nakamichi dragon that was presented at CED? I heard it’s pretty insane
CES
amazing HT and video!
What are the Govee lights on the wall? The model or whatever? Very nice room.
Govee Glide Lively RGBIC Wall Lights
really cool setup....glad to see he did the work himself by youtube..lol we all thank youtube..what would the mad vr cost .?can u get used ones?
You can download it.
Love the Whole setup. What Govee lights is he using again? I didn't see it on their website.
I used the Govee Glide Lively RGBIC Wall Lights and the Govee Smart Recessed Lighting 6 Inch, Wi-Fi Bluetooth Direct Connect RGBWW LED Downlight
Awesome setup, love the placement of the center channel!
when i do my home theater i already known my wife will go with these Red seats
Nice theater and great gear, seats. I feel bad for him. Wished I lived close by so I could go over and move that outlet for him for free.
😂 me too friend, I would’ve appreciated the help.
That is a beautiful room!
Very impressive theater! I bet that thing is thunderous when it's cranked up.
Lol you’re right especially the interstellar rocket launch scene
@@Kickinitwithd18 how does "Top Gun Maverick" sound on that system?
@@fredwerza3478 the first time I demoed Top Gun Maverick in my setup via Kaleidescape, it felt Iike I was actually inside the jet the way the (2) RS2’s at the time pressured my room. I had NEVER felt that amount of pressure before in my life. I am immersed in the surrounds and Atmos especially the scene they are avoiding and counter measuring the anti-jet missiles
@@Kickinitwithd18 damn those RS2's are teeth-rattlers, all I got is a single Klipsch 12" sub to shake my walls LOL --- ah well, it still sounds cool when those jets take off from the carrier
@@fredwerza3478 it might take a little while but save up for at least one RS2 Sub or half the cost of one and use a small loan to finance the rest. They’re definitely worth it.
I’m a big audiophile (and follower of Jesus) I understand that Klidascape will allow me to have full bandwidth high definition AUDIO so that is a big deal to me, however for this money will I see a huge difference in VIDEO resolution ? Meaning will Kiladascape provide a huge upscalemin the video because of it not being compressed? Thanks in advance
If you were comparing it to streaming, absolutely if you’re comparing it to physical media no, it’s the same for audio and video. I doubt you would be able to tell a difference in a double blind test.
Were the left and right speakers left outside of the AT screen to a provide a larger soundstage ?
He mentioned in another comment it was a room limitation.
I would love to experience the kaleidescape in my space.
Awesome theatre!
Great content.
Great video
Excellent sound system, but only mediocre projector, that doesn't really fit to the rest...
Since when has a $10,000 projector ever been considered mediocre? 🤷♂️
@@Youthman The NZ7 is the Model no one buys at the least in Europe...
The cheapest technical device in a home cinema shouldn't be the projector...
Besides, you also mentioned the NZ8 yourself in the video (not without any reason...).
In this great home cinema belongs at least a JVC NZ8 (or better a NZ9)....
@Anakin-dl6eb it’s one thing to say this theater would benefit from having an NZ8 or NZ9 but to call the NZ7 mediocre is something else. Mediocre would be using a $1,500 BenQ projector.
Awesome room! Thanks Youthman for talking about the room size. It’s something that helps me visualize and it’s greatly appreciated.
You’re quite welcome Darwin. I try to do that with all of my home theater tours
I’m running the numbers on this gear, trinov, JTR, JVC NZ7, and have come to the conclusion I am poor😢 Damn!
You need masking. JVC’s blacks are good but not even close enough to go without it. Masking makes a huge difference.
We saw how much perceived black levels improved during our MWAVE event.
Great video. Thanks for including metric dimensions when discussing room size. Damian, great to know that Andrew from HTE, a fellow Australian (to me) designed the room setup for this cinema. He's the best in the business. I've had a couple of engaging Patreon video chats with him. Well done!!
Wow! This is a high end theater. Love his room. Trinnov, Kaleidascape, JTR, JBL Synthesis, and the JVC NZ7 projector. I hope he gets the MadVR and makes an End Game theater. Crazy cool.
Here are two other high end Home Theater Tours
End Game Theater - ua-cam.com/video/fAmUKx72VyI/v-deo.html
$1 million Star Wars Theater - ua-cam.com/video/Z7cHZBuzSYU/v-deo.html
Loved to see the rack components - I'd never heard of D-Zone but I'd heard of Tonewinner. Smart choice to use that for the Atmos and the better power for your mains and perhaps surrounds.
We've been seeing so many amps now offering asymmetric power rating for speakers with higher power output reserved for the LCR. AVRs sort of do that where you see some delivering 200watts in 2 channel, then dropping to 100 watts for 7 but they don't reserve power thereby allowing an Atmos overhead speaker to get the same power as your front or center channel which makes no sense. You could probably power the Atmos speaker with a few 9 volt batteries yet your $4,000 AVR is treating it like it's a Klipsch LaScala.😁
I'd love to see AVRs with Class D start allowing asymmetric power distribution where they set the LCR to have 200 watts apiece and the other channels share 400 watts. Not all speakers are created equal.
Another great video Michael. Love it. I love the high end theaters but always great to see a more realistic budget friendly setup. And his theater is by no means budget. I got to hear Perlisten at CES, now I need to hear JTR 😁
I just saw the Trinnov. I need to renig on my budget statement 😂
🤣🤣🤣
@@hatoraidcowboy if your ever in Florida, you’re more than welcome to stop by. I also am a subscriber to your channel and I appreciate all the new content you’ve been putting out. I’m still looking into how to setup the movie poster app with Kaleidescape. I forgot to mention this in the video but it’s another upgrade that’s on the list.
@@Kickinitwithd18 Thank you brother will do! And I appreciate the support. You have a beautiful room. Its really rewarding when you can do some things yourself. It might not be “professional” but you save a lot of money. I built my riser and same as you, just watched UA-cam videos LOL
I wanted to try to look into getting MoviePoster working with the Kaleidscape while I had it but I had to give it back since it was a loaner. But great job again on your theater man. You got the Trinnov so you’re already at end game status and I aspire to get one one day as well. 😁
Great video Youthman. I would love to hear a setup like this. I want to use the same speakers with the 212RT's for LCR and the Synthesis for surround and Atmos. How was the mix? Did you hear anything wrong with the mismatch of vendors? Once again great video.
You could always run the power brick cord through the riser and up to the top if you want to tidy that up or the cord becomes a issue . Sweet set up
Yea that outlet right in front of the recliner is asking for kicks. That riser has to be hollow cut behind that and hardwire that power strip.
Hi Michael what do you think of the starke subwoofers I have been looking at that particular model I've heard good things Would love to hear you're honest opinion on them
Same man i missed that bogo end of year deal, i was so close to pulling the trigger
These videos is really inspirational! Great video as usual!
I was supposed to upgrade my cinema with 2 perlisten subwoofers this month :), but hey living in the northern part of EU, cant even afford the electrical bill now :D :P :(
Love this video. Owner seems like a great guy. I love that he put a lot of research and trial and error into his beautiful project. Great job. 👍🤛🤛
Amen bro 😎… With God all things are possible. Thanks for the encouragement😊. My dream is to own a full Jtr surround system and trinnov processor. I’m a future sound designer and I love sound and it’s becoming a very fulfilling career. Please let me know if you have any more advice on reaching this goal.
Thanks for sharing your theater Damien with the community. And @Youthman for putting together another entertaining, and informative theater tour.
"This is my theater. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My theater is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My theater, without me, is useless. Without my theater, I am useless..." - The Theaterman's Creed
Glad you enjoyed the video Matt. Home theater tours are one of the most fun videos for me.
😂 that should be the official HT enthusiast creed
I will stick with my Panasonic UB-9000 for watching movies...it is also 3D capable.
In my experience with our Home Theater there is no Protection from Lightning. Over 5 years we have had to get the receiver repaired, Kaleidescape replaced and we’re on our third 16 port Network Switch. We have also had to replace a whole StarLink kit.
We live in Florida, the lightning capital of the world. I don’t trust surge protectors so I always unplug when a storm is coming
@@Youthmanexactly
What a beautiful room. Thanks for bringing it to us.
I love how high the ceilings are in this beautiful home theater.
It looks tall but he did say it is only 8ft. high though. Not sure if he made a mistake because to me it looks taller than that.
15mm wide angle lens makes everything look bigger. One of the first things people say when they walk in my Theater Room as “man your room looks a lot bigger on UA-cam”.
Can't wait till my kids move out 🤣👍 the thing of dreams, lovely job
Such a good theater ❤ thanks for sharing 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Youthman why don't you go review the ascendo 80 sub system thats in germany? Has 260+ inch microled screen.
It’s cool but certainly not practical for 99.99% of Home Theaters.
When I see a system like this I'm like "hell ya, throw on COCO let's give this thing a work out!"
😂 I’m dying, we demoed at lot of bass heavy movies but the thought process behind COCO lol still laughing typing this..ahem was to try display color and brightness of the NZ7 on the silver ticket screen.
@@Kickinitwithd18 Blade Runner 2049, that movies has it all!
@@Edward135i I just recently watched that movie and yeah the sound and visuals in that movie is awesome. Totally slipped my mind
Yes, it was mostly for visual, I told him I wanted something with color to highlight the visual quality.
Another great video, Michael !!!!!! Damien, congrats on a beautiful room.
blows my mind when people say they financed home theater stuff.
Kscape is over $10K
@@Youthman yeah so stick with a uhd player (or NAS) if you can't afford it. it's just a personal finance decision i would never make on a toy, but i always appreciate when people share costs and how they're doing it with us. that openness is always interesting.
Beautiful room, Damien, with great choices all around. With that projector, I do wish you could do Stewart ST130 with microperf. You sit a bit close for that (you'd barely see the perforations), but you'd get a nice bump in brightness and color purity.
Bump in color purity? Really? 😉
@@Youthman See Kris Deering's article about the G4 material in Sound & Vision magazine.
You can do ST130 with microperforations
Nice and awesome review as always Youthman. We all hope to see you in Houston one day. Please can you ask Damian to share his Trinnov contact?
I actually bought the Trinnov second hand from a guy that lives in my state. It was deal I couldn’t pass up.
@KickinitwithD oh oh. I thought he was a trinnov dealer. Thank you
I use 2 different speaker brands too little differance
Using a $500 screen with a NZ7 is like putting cooper tires on a Lamborghini ....a very poor choice
If it was my system I would have built out the entire front wall ....the JTRs beside the screen looks like an afterthought ....just an idea that wasn't thought through
How exactly does it make it a poor choice? Honest question.
I don’t think it was a poor choice at all, every time I use my Theater I am blown away by video quality of my screen. I lost a lot of sleep mauling over each aspect of my theater even paying $1500 for my theater design. There’s definitely room for improvement but my projector screen at the moment isn’t one of them lol.
Couldn’t do a baffle wall without sacrificing screen size and seriously eating into my room foot print. By all means I wanted two rows of seating etc etc
@@Youthman it's not rocket science .... cheap speakers / poor sound ....cheap projector poor video quality .... cheap screen = much less picture quality than say a Black Diamond especially given the fantastic resolution of the NZ7
..true or not true ?
Not true. Price is not always indicative of quality. Sometimes you’re paying for aesthetics, brand name, build quality, and even customer service.
There are many speakers that cost a small fortune, that measure very poorly and don’t sound good. Don’t get me started on $70,000 cables with cable risers. Do those sound better than a $100 cable?
Another great video...Omg, I love these video's.....But Grandma not going to sit in the riser seats, front row only...lol
Lol she actually loves to sit in the main listening position on the riser chairs, with my wife sitting right next to her. I’m usually at one the corner seats. She likes the hunger games series of movies
I always envy those who enjoy those huge screens.
I have eye fatigue with everything above 100” from 10 feet /3m.
Especially with movies containing a lot of closeups and action scenes like LotR
Beautiful room! I love how clean and minimalistic it is. No clutter or distracting toys or posters. Well done! What an awesome setup!
Always enjoy seeing all these different setups and how people put there stuff together.
Glad you enjoyed the video
My biggest mistake when I built my Theater was getting ahead of myself in the building process, just to see what things would look like finished.
Great theater and build. What I really like is the sharing of your errors in DIY. It's an awesome example of humility to help others. P.S. JTR + JBL in walls for my next room, if I get one. Copy that!
Thanks for the great video, I really enjoyed it, great to see this awesome mans build of this this dream theater. He is such a nice down to earth guy.
Michael, the tips were great. I'm currently watching your whole Home Theater Tour playlist.
Ive been into Home Theater since late 90s and really getting back into the modern tech and with upping my game on acoustical treatment. Ive been watching Anthony Grimani and have a full room of treatments to install soon.
All the best from a fellow Michael.
What happens if Kaleidescape goes out of business? You lose all your content? No thanks
What happens if your hard drive with all of your media fails or your house burns down or natural disaster. You also lose all of your content. Cant live your life on the what ifs.
This actually happened to me just recently lol to answer your question after you contact your Kscape dealer they will contact Kscape and they will send you an advance unit and give you a RMA number and shipping label to return your problem unit to them.
All of you purchased movies are stored in a cloud that will never be erased, so you can delete and redownload any movie you have purchased.
Awesome theater and video! I have the same screen and same front row distance using the Sony 915ES projector. Couldn’t be happier with the immersive result!
great tour, nice looking room and a very humble man.
Really enjoyed the discussion about how Damian plans to utilize MadVR.
Another banger Mike GREAT VID👍🏽
Thank you Mandrell
Awesome Video! Do we know if he is using the 215's fullrange or if crossed over at what frequency?
Hey Michael another great video. Question is his HT upstairs or downstairs because those JTR speakers are Big Boys.
His theater is upstairs.
He mentioned he hired some guys to move them. He had a tip them extra lol.
День добрый! потрясающий контент. Хотел бы поделится своим кинозалом и получить оценку!
Great show!
This is a WOW factor
Nice setup and really good interview.
Thank you Edgar
Maranatha!
Amazing setup
Very Nice 🙂
I’m trying not to get caught up in what type and brand of speakers to use.. use what you have or like.. let’s no forget youth man has three klipsch la scalas as is LCR, definitely unconventional.. I loved this room and the choices made 😊
Actually I sold the LaScalas two years ago - ua-cam.com/video/rntcUwG2Pj0/v-deo.htmlsi=5qEjSXayygbuO1rD and upgraded to JTR Noesis 212HTR for LCR.
The. 10 months ago, I upgraded my Klipsch surrounds and Atmos to JTR 110HT-SL
ua-cam.com/video/C22TupIi3-o/v-deo.htmlsi=qin2LRmLRkhJbqU0
Jtr and JBL same setup!?? Why not using all JBL or jtr? No idea!
He explained it quite thoroughly in the video
@@Youthman but does it make sense mixing speakers even if they share compression drivers? They are completely different sonically
We demoed for several hours, and there wasn’t a single point that my brain thought that somethings sounded “off” or not right. The most ideal situation would be to get speakers from the same brand and series. But since our ears face forward, sound that comes from the side, behind or above isn’t nearly as critical to have them timbre matched.
Trust me if you visited my theater you wouldn’t hear any difference in how the speakers blend with each other.
just move the outlet it takes 5 minutes
😢 I will be eventually lol
Really nice, where did you get you get the adhesive flock?
Loved seeing the Starke Sound SW15s in this theater and I remember his comment (that he basically repeated) in Jiles’ video about the SW15s compared to the RS2s and glad that you mentioned that basically the RS2s better be more powerful for the price and size. I actually ordered 4 SW15s with the BOGO myself and am curious how much “bang for buck” I’ll be seeing…I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏼
All of the best of the best of the best, that must sound incredible
Hi. What's the gain of the screen and is it perf or weave? Its a 158". Wondering what FL you are getting in SDR and HDR.
It’s a 1.3 gain woven acoustic material. What does FL mean?
From Google, “A footlambert (or foot-lambert) is a unit of luminance. It is used primarily in the projection industry to provide a value for luminance of images on a projection screen. 1 footlambert (fL) is equal to 3.43 candela per square meter (cd/m2).Jan 22, 2019”
Thanks Youthman, so I checked my saved audio advice 3D theater plan and it states 98.78 HDR compatible
Well done 👏 Damien brilliant 🤩 and thank you Youthman 👍🏼✌🏼. UK 🏴
Hello guys, now that you have had the chance to hear both the JTR 215's and the 212' do you have any thoughts in regards to the differences. I would love to know about any sound impressions you might have. I am sure they are both great speakers! Thanks.
Still to date one of the absolute best home theaters I have experience had the 212s, but Tony spends a ridiculous amount of time calibrating and has a fully acoustic treated room. It’s impossible to compare to different speakers in two completely different rooms with two completely different systems and completely different acoustics. There is nothing the 212s are lacking except if you were running them just in a two channel set up with no subwoofer. Then I would go with the 215s.
Thanks for your Input!
35:35, That's what he said.
Always has, always will.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome video guys. Thank you for sharing this amazing room. Looking at the Tonewinner amps to add to my system. Comparing them with the Emotiva amps. Youthman thank you for the reply to my recent email and referring me to this video.
Yeah the tonewinner is an awesome amplifier and gives plenty of clean power to your speakers 300w per channel for all seven channels. You won’t be disappointed 👍🏿
@KickinitwithD your room is really awesome. I’m working with a split level living/tv room 19x26. Right now I have a Marantz 7012 & Emotiva BasX amps powering Polk audio lsim 705 towers, 706c, 702fx side surrounds, 703 bookshelves back surrounds & 4 Emotiva elevation for atmos. Sounds good now, but I want to feed them more power. What brand of speaker wire & HDMI cables are you using?
@@rodneyjones8247 I started off using monoprice 14awg speaker wire and ran out so I went to Lowe’s and got some more 14awg wire from there. For my LCR’s I used Gear IT 14awg speaker wire. I found out that it’s not so much the Brand that matters when it comes to speaker wire, but just making sure you have a decent gauge typically 12-14awg particularly for longer speaker wire runs.
@@Kickinitwithd18 starting to notice the same. Using SVS speaker cables for my LCR and installgear 12 gauge everywhere else. Thanks for the responses today.
@@rodneyjones8247 no problem
