I met Kobe once with my 3 daughters and he was the MOST gracious, humble, kind and decent human being we’d ever met. We were star struck and he got on one knee and shook my then 2 yr olds hand and called her sweetheart. He was truly bigger than life and he was an angel on earth. RIP Kobe, the absence of your presence will forever be felt.

I agree. He is very approachable and downhearted. When Kenny Smith asked Kobe to play a basketball game in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina he immediately said yes. Because he said yes 25 other NBA superstars including Kevin Garnett also said yes. Kobe is so competitive but he is also humble and approachable. Lebron James Carmelo Anthony Trae Young Luca Dincic Dwayne Wade among others did not only have great respect to Kobe in the playing court but also outside the court. RIP Kobe Gigi and the 7 others who died in the heli crashed.

Grateful to Kobe that he granted my wife Crystal's Make a Wish! Left an incredible impression on her that will remain the rest of her life! One thing they didn't mention is that Crystal is an artist and did the art piece shown during her interview. She sent it to Kobe and he signed and returned it to her.

I wish it didn’t take such a tragic loss for me to see how amazing a person Kobe was. Growing up as a fan of the game I realized the impact he had (and has) on the basketball/sports world. Admittedly, Kobe was far from being my favorite player. Mostly due to the fact that my idol, Kevin Garnett, was so often bested by Kobe and his Laker teams in the late 90s to mid 2000s. But, I always respected him. Kobe’s passion and love for the game was so apparent. Even as a child that was something I admired deeply and drew inspiration from. Not dissimilar to millions of others I am sure.
It is now blatantly obvious to me that Kobe’s impact extends to incredible lengths; those which reach far beyond the hardwood. The moment I heard of his passing my heart sank. Initially, it was surprising to me just how deeply it affected me. I thought there’s no way. Something like this couldn’t possibly happen to someone like Kobe. I could not stop crying and still now find it hard to fight back the tears. And then the news broke that his daughter, Gianna, was also involved in the crash. I was completely devastated. For someone to lose their life, in any way, at 41 is hard to comprehend. But at only 13? Down right doesn’t feel fair.
As someone who never had the opportunity to meet him, I find myself becoming obsessed with wanting to learn more about who he was. It’s been a nonstop consumption of following news coverages, watching old interviews and features, reading about his passion for storytelling, and, of course, learning just how involved he was as a father; something it appears he took great pride and joy in. Hearing from those who knew him best reinforces the fact that we’ve all lost a special human being.
It truly breaks my heart that Kobe is gone. The complete suddenness and unexpected nature of this tragedy is leaving us all a little empty. I pray for his family and the families of the other victims. Nothing will ever be the same for them, but I hope that somehow, someway, they find the strength and support to carry through.
    Rest In Peace, Kobe.
    Rest In Peace, Gianna.
Rest In Peace to the other seven victims. None shall be forgotten.
You are all so deeply loved and will be missed tremendously.

Watching this made me think about the time I met Kobe in 2007. I was an esthetician and went for an interview at a spa in a prestigious hotel in Dallas. After the spa manager gave me the "sorry, you don't have enough experience" speech, I got on the elevator to leave. The elevator stopped on the next floor down, the doors opened, and there stood Kobe Bryant.
As we were going down the elevator, Kobe sensed that something was wrong with me. With his head tilted to the side, he looked at me and asked, "Are you okay?" I responded, "Yes. Why do you ask?" He said, "Because you're not smiling so I figured something must be wrong."
I told him about what had just happened and he said, "Never give up on your dreams. Keep going. Keep pushing and everything's going to work out for you."
I smiled and said, "Thank you for that." Honestly, I was very surprised that he would say anything to me because he was a mega star. But, he didn't stop with just speaking. He showed genuine concern and was completely unaffected by his celebrity status.
Instead of draining the world of energy, Kobe poured so much positive energy into the world. His passing has left a huge void that so many of us can feel. He has inspired me to be my best self and to be a light for others by pouring more positivity into the world. I hope others do the same because we have a huge void to fill.
RIP Kobe, Gianna, and everyone who was on that helicopter. Vanessa, his daughters, and all the other surviving family members are in my prayers.

Since the passing of this remarkable human being. I've been studying his life and I realize how GREAT our CREATOR is. He sends so many mighty, mighty remarkable Human beings to exist amongst us and lead us openly and sometimes we don't even realize what they are doing until they're departing from the EARTH. Salute to Kobe Bryant & May Almighty G-d Make his Grave spacious with light protecting him from thee torment of the GRAVE, Blessing him to enter into the highest level of Al Jennah (PARADISE)

Wadiyah Abdur-Rahim Ameen brother🙏❤️. Pray that may Allah SWT forgives him inshallah and Gigi and the other 7 victims. Yk what I love about you is that you prayed for him and talked good about him when we both are Muslims because other Muslims would see he’s not Muslim he’s entering Jannah which is not true because Allah SWT is the most merciful the most forgiving inshallah me and you and Kobe will reunite in Jannah love you brother and Ramadan kareem❤️ to you and your family. I hope you reply to this comment. Inshallah Allah SWT will forgive Kobe and enters Jannah inshallah with me and you. Pray for him as well. You’re a really good human being and May Allah bless you🙏❤️

My Wish is that Kobe could've had at least another 20 years to enjoy watching his kids grow up, have children of their own, and to be with the love of his life, Vanessa. Through his blood, sweat and tears, he gave 20 years of his life to the sport he loved so much. To have only three years post-retirement is beyond sad. RIP Kobe and Gigi💔
