The big valley had heart. Not only a western A family that loves each other.

Love the brotherly friendship between Nick and Heath. They can get into it with each other, but God help anyone else who tries to get into it with either of them.

One of the things I like about this episode is that it doesn't make Heath into an expert gunfighter. In too many of these stories, Heath is some sort of super-cowboy, able to do anything required of him. He only won this time through pure luck, and yet it was still a satisfying ending. I hope he didn't leave that $6k lying on the ground!

@skirts365 It's all relative. Heath was an expert compared to that small-town sheriff/old friend, but we'll never know about the gunslinger in this episode. I kind of like the idea of Heath not being perfect.

Nick saying they still made a profit with that stallion was a well written full circle

Somehow your comment/reply to me got deleted. You asked how the blood was on Heaths shirt and why he said "He had me cold". He was informing Vixon that in fact the bullet from the hills was meant for him....his death/coldness. Letting him know he had actually saved Heaths life in return for saving his. As to why Heath had blood again he was we have to assume putting pressure or at the least examining the wound.

As for the hired killer. As the old saying goes "for ye shall die by thy sword".

Kind of funny in that his job was to take Heaths life but he ends up saving it.....and losing all his money. 6k was probably donated to the Stockton orphanage in Vixons name would be my guess as to where the money ended up.

6k would have been a LOT of money back then.

One would think that wad of cash would have stopped Heath's bullet.

Ironic isn't it?the man you save is the one hired to kill you,one thing I don't like about the Barkley's is they bring just anyone home endangering the rest of the family, especially Jarrod .

And it is crap that Heath didn't take the money. I really don't believe that

So who gets the $6,000? I could really use that money.

As far as the angry father and his go for bad son. All people that go for bad are pushing up daisies.
The sorry ass story of the gunslinger. You have to plant more than one thing. My family was southern farmers. They're used to not having so when they get they know how to hold on real real tight to it. No extra nothing the way some cultures do.
