Thank you for your message. I’m a 54 year old black woman with no kids and have never been married. I refused to compromise, but in the same time beat myself up because I’m not married with no kids. Currently, going I’m through BIG transitions in my life with my career, finances, health & taking care of my mom who’s been diagnosed with Dementia. Everything has hit me all at once. I have heard a couple of men’s take on her rant and I’ve heard the woman’s take and what I will say is both takes make sense to me. Listen to Fumi but consider facts and reality which is what the men are saying. Woman shouldn’t ignore reality because we are not all the same. Many women do not look as good as this woman or Fumi at 40 and we can talk about compromise but you have to first get a man, before you can talk about marriage and kids oh and the man willing to do IVF or adopt. Balance is key not everyone gets what they want within two years as Fumi did. Make sure you are actually the woman you say that you are and not the woman you wish to be. As for Cam what a flawed mind of a man. Kids deserve both parents.

Even in astrology it’s seen as bad luck to get married BEFORE your ‘Saturn returns’ which is around 27-30+. So.. I’m not surprised that most women are not married until those ages these days and that it’s most likely to end for those who marry before that time.

Fumi I absolutely love you. This was just what i needed. Society looks down on us as failures (45, no kids) no matter how successful we've been in other areas of life. I would happily date a white man because you're right its a about CLASS! For some reason Black women have been conned into thinking that they can only find love with a Black Man. Yet and still Black men DATE/MARRY EVERYONE. I do not have that blind loyalty, my loyalty is for me and how I expect to be treated regardless of race. Fumi you are such an inspiration. I watched that show last weekend. Had been cleaning my house initially, but had to stop to get it all in. I was so proud of the good doctor. She made me understand certain things I do, not truly able to explain why. She put into words the thoughts I have but fail to articulate. That was THE best podcast I ever watched... Class is the most overlooked indicator but is the most impactful on whether or not the relationship will be successful.
Yup but also keep in mind class isn't just about where someone comes from financially but their upbringing. People can come from money and have no class and people can come from modest means and be filled with all the class. Too many people focus on the lust and emotions and don't take anything else into consideration. You DO have to ask questions and don't lie. People need to know if they are a match and can handle certain people's lifestyle.
When i watched that podcast with Cam my eyes opened to exactly what i couldnt articulate my feeling about my dating life. I would meet this men and they assumed something and i believe they didnt get what they thought i was.
Men use money to mask their shortcomings. I would have men who would spoil me rotten. I would appreciate the moments but at the same time i was intentional in getting to know who they really were and now i know they ran because they didnt have anything beyond that to offer.

He says his parents have been married for over 37 years and all of his 8 kids were born out of wedlock and his daddy is a pastor. Something is wrong in his family. Pitiful how 70%+ of Black children end up like his NO DADDY AT HOME!!!!

When you are "healed" NOTHING can touch you. I LOVED THIS NECESSARY CONVERSATION BETWEEN THEM TWO. While I disagree with Cam and his unhealed self, I will not downplay his understanding of relationships and marriages. We are our experiences, Cam is his experiences, and more.
I could be wrong but it was my understanding that he was raised in a 2 parent household and they are/were married.

It was a bit surprising to me though because usually when I’ve heard men making broken homes (multiple children and baby mommas) in most cases they came from a household where this behavior was modeled and it’s like a generational cycle.
Sis Fumi, made me think about my marriage and how I relate to my husband with loving the children AND him more. Marriage isn't for play play and needs to not be romanticized. Thank you for being honest

I was just laughing watching this video because I have gotten a lot of labels for making the decision to move on from my relationship of 6years. The most interesting part of it is the fact that amongst many critiquing my moves includes the mothers of marriageable boys and girls and grand mothers. I am difficult, it can never be perfect etc. I know that I am not difficult but I know my experience in the 6years journey and still now. And I am wondering, I guess many people needs to heal after all and I guess age is not the definition of wisdom after all 😂. I am miss unbothered about been single at this age because I know what I am and what I want and I know that man is on the way but I am very worried about the number of people like me the women that doesn’t know any better has and will lead to their destruction. U will be fine. There r a lot of people who r in very difficult marriages. Its not worth it to marry just because. I have seen good marriages (my parents really like each other n our house is always peaceful. Parents married 40+yrs). I had married neighbors who were happy and some who werent. There r good marriages out there. We dont have to suffer forcing bad relationships to work

I have not birthed children but I've helped to raise many young women via friendship, mentorship, and coaching. I love how you gave Dr. Bryant her flowers and spoke support and wholeness over her. Since the podcast with her and Cam Newton has aired, I have seen so many youtubers, mainly men, come out to bash and degrade her based on her stance, her age, and her non-negotiables.
One would think men would champion her because she spoke truth with love and consideration to Cam. However, it appears they are being hard on her because she spoke uncomfortable truths to Cam that his 'homeboys' and mentors should have spoken to him.
I was so inspired and uplifted by what Dr. Bryant shared. Not because an ego was hurt, but because a standard for many women was raised. No woman of any age has to compromise because they fear not finding a man who will meet them at their level of wholeness.

Unfortunately a lot of men feel the way Cam does..they do not want to get married..and he comes from a 2 parent household. Look at a man's patterns. If he has multiple long term relationships that went nowhere..what does that say about what he wants...esp a man with Cam's access and status. More women need to understand and be ok with the fact that many men don't see marriage the way women do...and go find men who are in alignment and want to be married. I'm still trying to figure out why she was dressed like she was going out on a date versus dressed as a professional. Perhaps it was a tactic. For men who think like Cam, a professional woman dressed this way... would not be taken seriously..and with an ego like his..only a man he respects that has been married for a long time..could truly keep him accountable.

Fumi, Cam needs to be looking for no one nowhere. He needs to sit down and focus on his healing through intense therapy and being a good father to his flock of children, both the girls and boys. He needs to shelve looking for a partner or wife. That ship has sailed. That opportunity is forfeit.
