I don't know how EIGHTY people didn't like this, I think it's awesome. Super relaxing ^_^
I really had to turn the volume up, but I'm sure glad I did. Great job
I just clapped. Miss Suzuki, god speed. You make me want to come back and play the marimba once more. That was a beautiful performance.
i march with yuki and she is freakin awesome
beautiful.
I LOVE that name.
@PercMusicOnline This is definitely a Keiko Abe medley. Bits and pieces from "Marimba D'Amore" and a hint of "Frogs" I think (1:47). Marimba D'Amore is around 10-12 minutes long, so this must have been abridged for time constraints. I've played Marimba D'Amore but I haven't played Frogs... so I might be wrong on that part. Hope this helps.
for the record, if it's DCI, it's not a marching band uniform, it's a corps uniform.
very nice
this is amazing.
absolutely beautiful piece, very well done.
What a perfect name...Yuki Sazuki...
Beautiful playing... makes I wish we had drum corps in Scotland so I could take it up again.

"Piacer d'amor" arranged by Keiko Abe, from Three Monologues for Solo Marimba by Keiko Abe
yessssssssssssss mariba girllll rdrsrss
Yes, it sounds like Plaisir d'Amour to me, too.
Let's record this beautiful piece with the quietest microphone we can find!
This shit is fye
Musically speaking she is very good. This is where I put comments like this right?
The air platform theme would make it more epic.
That is a kick ass name
Great
i can hear it barely, and i dont see why it's so amazing, i feel like i could learn to do that in 3 months
my speakers are all the way up and I cant hear A THING except for the louder dynamic phrases.
its for the best.
@ChildofTigerstar lol finally, someone else who hates playing mallets. Ah i've played bass for a while so now i'm in love with snare and tenors XD Are you doing marching band?
No doubt
yay! another girl percussionist=D
i am a girl percussionist in my middle school band=D and it rocks
nice very nice
I dont think most musically talented people are actually dumb. Just because some might not be good at history or science, it doesnt mean they arent intelligent. And if a lot of people who are really good at instruments don't do as good in school, it is probably because they put more time into their instrument than in school work.
@Stickclickxx i hate playing the mallets...i like the snare drum and the bass drum =]
You have to crank up the volume. Mines at max and I can barely hear her.
it sounds awesome with ear phones.....next time listen to the directions given..."for best audio please use headphones".....
Chemiecta means technically tonal. In English it still means the same thing, just doesn't sound right. In chinese its a totally different meaning.
@ChildofTigerstar lol there are plenty of female percussionists. I play for my highschool but I love snare for marching band, not a fan of mallets really. Glad you like band XP *Completely random*

@PercMusicOnline Piacer D'Amore by Kieko Abe
This video is uber quiet, even with my volume at max (on my computer and the video)
bang bang bang!
Hi there, I am researching percussion literature and I wondered what the name of this piece is and if you have any information on it?
Many thanks,
Tim

Wait, you do know that the "sports world" is more than just the NBA, NFL, and short distance track, right? Cause I'm looking at long distance running, baseball, hockey, soccer, equestrian, tennis, golf, rowing, gymnastics, figure skating, skiing, cycling, auto racing, lacrosse, martial arts, softball, volleyball, curling, fencing, bobsledding, luge, snowboarding, surfing, ping pong, diving, swimming, badminton, and archery and I have to say I don't quite see the same dominance you see.
Amazing solo, anyone know which corps she is on?
warren high in SA TX
would it kill you to turn up your speakers?
Is it one of the japanese children's songs from Keiko Abe?Or A piece from Zivkovic?I know it but I don't remember which one it was... :-s
@Stickclickxx i am when i go in to highschool next year.
i kinda have to if i'm in first semester band...oh well =]
but i want to be in it=]
That's "Plaisir d'amour", I think.
better than last years solo
anyone else get here from the marimba lady video?
i wudda broke into the mario theme at 1:12
Lol at the beginning i was like... I CANT HEAR ANYTHING!!!
I think my hearing aid is broken!... Oh wiat, I do not have a hearing aid.
is she playing in mezzo ppppppppppppiano
LMAO DIeNaSty4me. Same thing happened to me haha
88 People tried playing this song.
sheet music ?
I play Marimba in denmark and i think i can do that shes doing if i just practice a bit on it . It doesnt look so hard . And dont say i dont know cus i won the Danish master ship this year and the one in Heikendorf last year. Wasted!
she totally seems like one of those girls where her parents were so intent on her becoming a pro xylophonist they didnt waste the time to give her presence or teach her to talk..
I just said it sounds not good xD
that it's hard to play doesn't have to mean it is a good tune. and the low tunes sound really wrong.
(that's because of her marimba)
and it's tactless, in which meter is it written?
plaisir d'amour is originally written in 3/4, but what is that?
I think your playing if fine. There is a difference between robotized, professional, and ridiculous playing, and I think you were very professional. Good job, keep up the posts!
@sunnyangel96 : Yeah right, everybody knows theses people dont't have to make 'efforts' to be awesome.
really the only main reason that musicians are "smarter" is because of the UIL's no pass no play so the kids have to do well in school ergo, they put forth effort and do stuff unlike kids that have no modivation.
I can barely hear it!
lol true you should see my timpani solo
ha ha, aber bitte nicht einschlafen :o) :o)
She's japanese, I'm pretty sure that Japanese isn't a tonal language. Chinese is.
who thats low sound indeed :O
i guess only dogs and cats can hear it lol
she have stevens mallets for 2-4? i think the bass is a discontintued stevens mallet. theyre all white now..
can't hear
If you are such a grammar expert then why didn't you put a period on the end of your last sentence.
have i gone deaf?
You can? I can hear a marimba.
....?
of course...shes asian,no wonder shes so freakkin good
I thought it was nice :D
Yuki Suzuki?!? Now, there's a girl with a dad who wanted to be a poet :)
Nice playing tho'
very very good playing... but i really don't understand why they are dressed up like STAR TREK XD
Her sleeves are really long
All those cell phones going off. ugh.
Eew... Dynasty.... XP
And why the hell do you say that?
no
very poor sound quality for such a beautiful recital
Relaxing, maybe, but I think it's a little empty, it miss something and I don't like the sound.
@iCanMakeAmovieDude OH come on. Seriously?
I know the original plaisir d'amour, but that isn't plaisir d'amour, even if she wants it to be plaisir d'amour.
that's not good. it sounds amateurish.
even if she's a pro, maybe it's because of the marimba. but the harmonics sound wrong, such as the beat of her play.
and you're right, she doesn't seem to be very talented...
what do you mean technique doesn't mean anything? if you have no technique you can't play at all. . . iluvperkushun, go work on a hard piece incorrectly than fix your technique you'll see how much it counts.
what the fuck, no sound
I have to agree with you. The playing was great but the song itself was boring.
wtf?
This song is terrible, but she really is a fantastic Marimba player.
she would be prety good if she played instruments that made no sound... xDDDD
He's just jealous.
mein gott is des schlecht yukki
asians dont do that
It sounds good, but it's beat is very bad!
she isn't very talented.
I can do the chord thing. It's a useless skill.
Fake
What a generic and boring marimba piece. There are many nice ones out there.... this is just painful.
Execution was fine tho :)
