No matter how thin I make the roof and the points of contact between a model and support, it never comes off easy. I always break the model chipping the support off. Any tips mate? Great video.
On my models above the tree support, mine makes a grid pattern between the tree support and the model. I can’t figure out how to remove that grid pattern in the settings. Can you help me with that?
Ss Great. I am using Cura 5.2. My supports just weld to my print. The only way I can get them to remove is by using my 1000F heat gun and heat up the supports until I can pry them off. Very frustrating. You brought up one thing I did not think about. Is, one Wall supports. I wonder if I can print any other type of support other than tree supports with a single wall? I think/believe that CURA 4.x actually did something similar. I only tried Cure 4.x a short while before moving on to Cura 5.0. But I recall the supports in 4.x being much much easier to remove.
The issue that I am having is that whatever is touching the supports looks unfinished. The entire model looks perfect but once you pull the supports off it looks like a bunch of lines that you can pull on. I have tried changing how the model lays on the build plate to be printed and same outcome. Only issues are where the supports touch.
How would you elevate the part? I have a stippled surface and laying it flat defeats the purpose. I want to have to elevated slighly and supports as the “bed”
Can anyone point me into the right direction. My supports are attached way to well everytime I get a large print done I get supports I can’t get off and end up braking my print trying to remove them
I'm new in 3d Printing not modeling :) But when I use tree support in dafault settings the tree support stack to madel! And I drop model in trash :( With normal - ZigZag all was OK !
The confusing part for me is that I am using Cura 5.5 and I am guessing you are using something earlier, I have no experience with any version but 5.5 your interface is way different than mine so to follow on with the stream is very difficult for me... Anyway thanks for the good video on this topic as I am having fits with a particular bunch of models for Legions Imperialis, specifically aero type models and supports...
my version was actually lower in this video.... the extra settings can be turned on and off in the settings, and i have a few helpful extensions that change the interface a little. i will make a generic version of this video for the latest cura
Is it possible to edit the tree support to move where the base is and how it curves to the model? I'm trying to print a wolf head and the tree base starts right in it's mouth and the support is unbelievably hard to remove and even if you manage to do so, it leaves a real ugly finish. Basically, what I wanted to do is to use the bed as the tree support's base rather than the model being the base of the tree support.
In lower versions, tree support is under expiremental. If you can't find it, type in tree in the search bar above the settings you see and it should allow you to activate it
i dont want support at all and it always creates support. cura just crap ton of bug. it never able to put 3d model as support. how latest version worse than 2 years ago
I love watching tutorials when the person talking thinks the person watching knows what the heck they're talking about right from the beginning.
and i love that not all tutorials are for complete beginners, so that you can learn more than basics.
@@michalpecz9433 That is usually mentioned in the title or verbally at the beginning of the video.
Tree support is so helpful, thank you so much!
thanks for this video! im new to cura and you couldn't of explained this any better
Very helpful for those of us who are just getting started.
No homo. Ily. You helped me newbie like me out !

Its amazing how slow the view port is even on a very powerful computer. Cura really needs to work on their optimizations for the 3d viewport.
HUGE thanks, i had about 9 fails before this video thanks
Thanks for this!
Thank you my friend I need this
Great info, thanks.
Very much thanks for the info! Helped me a lot.
SUPER helpful, thank you so much.
That was a great help, thanks man. Don't forget to smash the like button fellow dudes and dudets
Thank you.
I dont see the supports in cura when I have them on..
i need to know about the support floor, i don't really know how to use it
On my models above the tree support, mine makes a grid pattern between the tree support and the model. I can’t figure out how to remove that grid pattern in the settings. Can you help me with that?
I see support is inside model how would you block that?
SUPER HELPFUL!
I have a problem when I load the STL model the side menu is missing and I am unable to manipulate the model.
Can you please help.
i got a bad bottom layer when i remove support from bottom. solution?????
I have a profile that has all settings visible, I use this profile for checking settings out without spoiling my main profile.
ty human!
Thanks
My supports are fusing with the printing model. Is that a problem?
on the Ender 3 s1 pro it doesn't start overhang drooping until 70 degrees.
Where can I find that hand stl?

try sanding
you ever figure it out? im currently on this video looking for that solution
I have generate support enabled but it doesn't automatically add support for me?
Can support in cura can be decrease?
So what is the quality of the part that are supported

Change the Z position of the part in your slicer

how to print large items on 310mm310mm 400mm please.
I just can't figure out how to display the support buttons that everyone has
there a way to support inside model and not the outside?
Technically the inside support is the infill.
@@Technivorous am wanting to hollow the print but there is over hangs in it
@@jamessmallwood7448 Then you may want to look at reorienting the model itself. I don't know what exactly you're printing but that may help.

Did you try enabling the optioning "touching the build-plate" vs "everywhere" in the support options?
+1sub, thanks you so much
my supports are better saves tons of time but is not in cura i have to model one instead
I couldn't find TREE as an option. I've been using zig zag and seems ok but always looking to speed up my prints

Since you didn't show the printed model, I have to assume none of it worked.🤔😁🤘🤞
On the contrary, this piece is on my mantle as we speak
@@Technivorousyeah right
dude no one needs a video to read what it says. SHOW what each option actually does. this is not helpful at all.
for me i dont have those options s
