Cracking up at Robert Carlyle representing himself in court for assault in a suit from Slater's
fucking clap
Wee fcking Glesga guy
BAAASTAAAAAARD!
I was on a bus corpsing at the ‘fucking clap’ bit. So funny.
I died laughing when Limmy described Robert Carlyle walking onto Letterman like a Glaswegian going into court in a baggy suit xD
Hurt my neck in the process brother
"A variety of Scottish accents." Chooses a handful of people all from Glasgow. I'm on the bus tae Yoker vibes.
Lorraine Kelly is from Dundee
@@pessf400 As they say in Glasgow, "naw she isnae".

“he’s like a wee glasgow guy, making a court appearance.”
Howling at that quote.
Robert Carlyle on Letterman sounded like a guy at a job interview trying to describe a time he had to deal with a difficult customer
With a suit given to him by the social lol
Unironically enjoyed this analysis
I unironically enjoyed your comment (and the vid)
I both ironically enjoyed and unironically enjoyed it.
and also upside down! :)
@@fukadaendim5800 you can say cunt on UA-cam. They don't mind. Just don't espouse Trump or they'll have you stabbed. Lol.
Posthumously popped my cherry to this comment
The repetition of "But ugh" and "Fuckin clap" is simply great. Couldnt stop laughing😂😂
Limmy doesn’t do a bad Scottish accent.
Impressive for someone who doesn't speak English.
I can't get enough of his "Internally Hostile Robert Carlyle" lol
Carlyle is playing Mr Mulvaney in the feature film.
Top comment. That would be epic. The opposite of Richard E Grant in a Limmy biopic.
I’d watch a Mr. Mulvaney feature film.
@@-0rbital- That would be my dream. Great character.
HA! Yes! Mr Mulvaney my favourite character 👍👍👍
No I can never not associate the two 💥
Robert Carlyle sounds like a scottish footballer on tv trying not to sound like a ned but the glesga keeps slipping in.
I would love to see him analyze James McAvoy's accent.
Same
Limmy channelled Robert so well that he even anticipated the ear touch at 11:19
"Scottish phone voice" is so accurate
Burst out laughing when you said Robert Carlisle walking onto Letterman in his suit looked like a wee Glasgow guy making a court appearance 🤣🤣🤣
Experiencing the world through the thoughts of Robert Carlyle is a saga waiting to be written.
I love this. I could watch this for hours on every Scottish celebrity in existence. These days letterman would say 'sociopath' 😂. 13:19 Carlisle touching his nose thinking "patronising c**t". Then he says something intelligent only for letterman to respond "do you often appear naked in films".
These posts are so addictive..I find myself just watching for ages
Capaldi has a Scottish accent... of a certain kind
Jordanhill ! 🤣
Don't much care for watching limmy gaming but I love this stuff thanks for compiling all these highlights!
I don't think I want to watch anyone playing games. But exposing the 3-2-1 finger thing, and the website showing the wrong date for the price? I could watch stuff like that all day!

"A baggy suit. A suit fae Slater's"
I used to work for Slater's and this got me.

Having Limmy's UA-cam bar showing up instead of the actual UA-cam bar is such a mind trip

Wonder how long it takes to watch a 90 minute film with limmy..
limmy's twitch videos are my lullaby

Love Limmy's description of the Scottish phone voice. It's often weird to me seeing Scottish people talking in films or that since a lot of people when acting do the phone voice more than the real one so it sounds fake to me.
I think it's hard to keep your accent when you live somewhere else, my accent has been corrupted from living in Fife for a couple of years and it was hard not to slip back in to speaking more like how I used to when I went back to speaking to my gran and that.
Peter Capaldi grew up in the same area as me (was a year or two below my dad in high school) and his accent reminds me a lot of how my mum's brother talks, like, he's trying to talk more "proper" since he's moved up in the world. But I can still hear a little bit of a Billy Connelly quality to some of what he says.
I'm Irish and I've been teaching English here for 3 years. From habit, and because I need the kids and my coworkers to understand me I have to speak slower and enunciate a lot more. It's funny, because one of my friends here who's a South African says that my accent is a lot more neutral if I've been home for an hour or two after work, but as the evening progresses my Irish accent gets stronger and stronger.
Billy Connelly hasn't sounded like a Glaswegian since around 1985, maybe earlier.
Was going to turn the ads at the bottom off but Limmy did it for me
This is a niche topic for sure....and I'm enthralled by it! Gonna transition into home, grab me dinner, and continue watching! Brilliant!
Carlyle has a bit of Mulvaney about him. Not just certain sentences but his mannerisms as well. Art imitating life.
Your Bobby impression is fuckin amazing! There's also a video from some time last year and there's a part where he talks about another film from Danny Boyle and people started to clap and cheer and Bobby was like "I wasn't in it, so you don't need to clap"... reminded me of your "Fucking clap" 😂
"I'm just gonna do a wee minute of this."
25 minute video.
Possibly my favourite ever Limmy moment
hearing limmy imitate david letterman sent me into the sky
If they’re not as unintelligible as Limmy, it’s not authentic.
My uncle moved from Ireland to London 50 years ago and still hasn't lost his accent even an iota. I see some people go to Australia for a year and they come back all bonza m8
The funniest thing I've ever seen . Love you Limmy
honestly i could sit and watch him pretend to be robert carlyle all day man
Same 😂 polis voice 😭🤣
Brilliant 🤣 this had me in stitches 🏴
Capaldi sounds sort of Morningside/Edinburgh Southside to me these days.
Having lived in Morningside for some years, you'd be hard pressed to hear a Scottish accent of that kind or indeed any kind. Miss Jean Brody's long gone I'm afraid.
personally thought he sounds like an Englishman who's lived in Edinburgh for 10 years
@@aadil3569 lmao it's funny because during that segment but I was like "he's going through the opposite change I am". Only I've been here about eight years so far lol. So fuckin bang on. My vowels are wildly unpredictable, depends a lot on who I'm around. I had to say ranch to myself several times because I couldn't figure out wtf was comfortable any more. The funny thing is my dad is Glaswegian, he changed his accent a lot to fit in down south and I remember my uncle telling him he sounded like a soft southern jessie when we visited one time. But he'd still say cahnt instead of carrrnt like I'd say and in my annoying little posh child way I stomped my foot and told him to say it properly. Now I say it like he did.
Edinburgh Southside accent? mordon, Gilmerton are all south Edinburgh and defo working class with thick Edinburgh accents
Peter Capaldi is Lewis Capladi’s mom
We need a Robert Carlisle Blahem. "But ugh... fucking *BLAHEM*"
Capaldis just sounds like a posh scottish
Ye it doesn’t sound English at all.
Thing is, Capaldi grew up in one of the roughest parts of Glasgow, so the guy shouldn't have a "posh Scottish" accent at all unless, as is the obvious case, he's putting it on.
It's how he's pronouncing vowels. Most of his pronunciation is still Scottish sounding but when he says things like "would, around" you can hear the longer vowels which is more typical of English accents. I have an aunt who lived in England for years and so to us she sounds super posh/english because of the vowels but down south they think her Scottish dialect is still pretty strong, similar to Capaldi.
@@dungeonsanddobbers2683 He went to school in Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch, neither are rough or indeed in Glasgow.
Lorraines lit aht: "AROUND OF DRINKS"
The image of his name on a neon light on top of a pack of toilet paper is just so amusing.
watched the entire 24 minutes of this for some reason.
"American arseholes." That's a line I have adopted recently.
How tight is Limmy that he won't spring for UA-cam Premium considering he is on it so much in his streams
I’m guessing cuz he doesn’t wanna be signed in and have people see all his history etc
UA-cam premium? Fuck that. Can just skip the ads
He doesn't use adblock as he likes to take the piss out of adverts occasionally
He’s not smashing any stereotypes is he
Well he is scottish
The point about Lorraine kelly is so true. I've always thought the same with Danny Dyer - his 'accent' seems to get stonger and more exaggerated each year..
Oiy am fahhhkin shittin meself
Video about Scottish accents, rinses Americans, turned out better than i had hoped for
Kelly Macdonald, yakuza expert.
I don’t think Capaldi likes being interviewed. I think he finds himself uninteresting.
Robert Carlyle looks like Limmys aulder uncle in the Craig Ferguson clip
lmao mulvaney on letterman had me in stitches
3:11 Immediately thought of the “A ROUND OF DRINKS!!” Sketch
Alan Cummings does the "life, like sound. " you mentioned
Craig, seriously dude you’re quite charismatic but to anyone who’s Scottish, it’s easy to see you’re in a strange place with that patter
The building site bit is like an episode of Beadles About.
"He's like a wee fuckin glasgae guy making a court appearance"
Wasn’t really feeling the Capaldi thing until he corrected Loraine saying today 😆
Where's this mini golf place on great western road? that's pish, it's in clydebank
The Robert carlyle bit was hilarious 😂
Would love to hear him react to Shirley Manson's accent. She lost it during the time she appeared on Sarah Connor Chronicles (also during interviews), but nowadays it's back as strong as ever.
Only question is if Limmy can bear listening to an Edinburgh accent for so long, lol.
Your honour. My client has turned his life around 😀
I went to Eastwood High and there’s a plaque for Kelly Macdonald on it :)
F*cking Clap!
Limmy ever see the wee laddie who's fending off 'frost-bit'?
I won't hear a word said against the mighty Peter Capaldi. He is an amazing actor and talent oozes from his every pore. I like Lorraine and loved her performance on Bo' Selecta best.
I won't hear a word against your lord and savior Limmy.
Not a funny comment
Robert Carlyle is such a great actor.
"OK Primary 1, just to let you know, you all have a burrrrr" x-D sprayed my drink
Limmy the linguist. Fucking clap.
Robert Carlyle talks so much like Nicola Sturgeon, head nodding, pauses, intonations.
Limmy could try a bit harder to sound Scottish. Not Scottish enough for me.
Robert Carlyle IS a limmy character
Lorraine Kelly undoubtedly doesn’t sound as Scottish off-air. It’s her brand to sound like that so she puts it on more on tele.
@Luke BrewerI’ll show you Bollocks in a minute
@@DisturbedAidan2 Sus comment
@@EyesWideOp3n I’ll Sus you in a minute.
How do you know this? Do you frequently hang with Lorraine when shes not on TV? 🤷♂️
@@3allz Because I’m a genius. Though I must admit I never realised she was a he.
I think this happens spontaneously tbf, my accent weakened when I was around poshos at Uni.
Yeah, it's called upper divergence and lower divergence. Mutual divergence is where the two parties meet in the middle, like me and and my Scottish cousins talking to each other.
I’m the opposite, I strengthen my RP accent in Scotland. :P
I know when I lived down south I had to change the way I spoke because the English just couldn't get their heads round my thick accent. So I think it's a bit unfair when Limmy talks about people being "ashamed" of their Scottish accent, especially in relation to Lorraine fucking Kelly, who has one of the most put-on Scottish accents on TV.
@@dungeonsanddobbers2683 of course it's unfair. Limmy's a massive troll
Same. I moved from East Lancashire and people would either ignore or not understand me. My friends back home say I sound upper crust now.
When Robert Carlisle said "buhk" instead of "bOOOk" I felt myself furrowing my brow.
Limmy mum and dad are great… I can remember I met the at saltcoats
Kelvingrove is class, can recommend. I go every time I'm in Glasgow

I always knew Lorraine was one of the good ones.
Years ago I was told Lorraine Kelly flies up and down between home in Scotland and working in England. No idea if it’s true.
Who played Carlisle's singer girlfriend in that film at the end? She sounds like she's from Dublin.
I checked, her name is Emer McCourt. From Co. Down apparently, but you're right, she sounded more Dublin in that clip
