As a homosexual, I am so happy that I am surrounded by supportive friends who I came out to and they are ok with it. I also came out to my older brother this year and he was very understanding. I have no plans to come out to my parents for now as advised by my brother I shall tell them about my preference when I am financially independent so that if incase they decide to throw me out, I can still fend for myself. I really cant imagine my close ones passing homophobic comments on me.

I too have a gay friend and we were not even that close when he opened up to me.Tbh I was shocked and felt a bit of strangeness. But later, I decided I'd never be what this society wants me to be. I'll support the right cause. I'll do what my heart says because I know my friend is my friend which is not a "specific" gebder for me. Again as you said, now when we talk we don't even remember each other's genders. We're simply good friends.

Hey Kirti, I don't know if u will read this message cause there are already soo many comments but I want to share my story. When I was in 8th we used to bully a guy in my class. It started with our group and eventually the whole class bullied him. But as Karma hits back, it did with me. When I transferred to a new school in 11th, I faced the exact same situation. Even I was bullied by my classmates and then I matured due to all this and realised what a childish mistake we all were committing at that time. Now I am in college and living the best life with practically my whole class being my friend. I talked to that boy on Facebook recently and said sorry to him. It felt soo good. I know ur story is about homophobia but it also involves bully so I felt that I should also share my story and I want to end by saying we all are humans and especially were kids when we did this. But now as a mature adult, we can improve it and make this world a better place

I had a gay friend too, but because I've seen how people made his fun and how he felt, I was always with him. It was only 8th class when we weren't with him, but after that he was never alone. Along with my best buddies, we were like a wall of fun and positivity around him. Today he's doing wonderful in his life and maybe one of the happiest among us.

people need to be REALLY educated about lgbtq+. I am bisexual but my past self used "gay" as an insult. I thought gay means men acting as women or wearing women clothes. I told to so many guys "chakka" just to insult them whenever I was angry. It would be so great if parents or teachers educate young children about LGBTQ+ too. At the age where we learn about adolescence chapter in our biology book it would be so great if they tell "At this age, female/male start to have sexual feelings for the opposite sex as well as same sex." instead of "At this age, male/female start to have sexual feelings for opposite sex." I wish there will be one day where "coming out" wouldn't be a thing anymore.

It's addressed in ancient scripture that being attracted to same sex is considered as adultering, coveting and immoral etc., and god created you but he laid down moral codes, ethics and commands for humans to follow because god doesn't control your will, you are free to think on your own you can turn bad and become good it's on you how you think.

Bruh I felt it down in my heart. Not that I ever made fun of them or bullied them, but some of my classmates had implanted some really nasty images and stereotypes regarding homosexuals in my mind and I could not fight my ignorance until I got the internet ,read articles about it and met actual homosexuals. My past does not define my present, and I am a proud ally of the lgbtq+ community now.
