@JknQuezzy Very much so. Watch the latest version of Sequence. It's wicked. Don't get me wrong. It's not unheard of for a rookie to make the line. Just got to have sick chops.
@TheDragonmaster18 This is Sequence. Big 8 uses it when the Chiefs march into the stadium and during parades. They have dozens of "cadences" that they have in their repertoire, and they play them quite often (Chief, Haitian Hustle, Boston, Wet Love, etc,...) Feel free to look them up here on UA-cam before talking smack:)
im a gator but big 8 could murk our band anyday, i miss playing sequence in highschool, makes us look like such scrubs
@jrock351 DAMN right!
I heard the intro to sequence, looked at the length of the video and already knew what was going down 😂😂
@alexaflood theyre not smug, theyre just havin a good time with what theyre doing.
They also don't move much. FSU's marching does not involve many precision charts like USFs does.
we may have lost but at least we came away with some of our dignity knowing we stomped the USF drumline
omg.. the splits for the FSU bass drums,amazing!
You hear the USF drummer say "yo, that sounds badass" lmaooo
@sethquadz im nt speakin of the whole feature, im talkin bout the jus that part itself, with is a portion of Morris Brown Re-Ak-Shon, which is the beat to Killer Mike's song Ak-Shon, dnt believe me, go watch Morris Brown Re Ak Shun and then listen to Killer Mike Ak-Shon
OMG!!! Eminem is playing the quints!!!!
DIRT
@sethquadz That intro has been around way before the mid 90's. I was there in 93 and it was already established by then. There are sites that track the evolution of Sequence over the years and it's pretty cool to see who added what and when.
MCATDT
"Yeah basses!"
lol
that could literally be anybody.
atleast you have a good drumline :) go bulls
Indeed it has been around. The earliest reference we had in '93 was "Buddha!", referring to Rick Beder; I remember Rick from Leadership Camp in '89 or so where he was a grad assistant. I, too, was in Chiefs in '93. I'm sure Bob Thurston has a good history/timeline of sequence.
5:06-5:34 is the cadence name Re-Ak-Shun from Morris Brown's Sticking Sensation Drumline, well we see that even Division 1 school's steal cadences too, and dey tru to downgrade HBCU's, how sorry
is it hard to get into FSU drumline , im really thinking about joining ?
Let’s go seminoles USF did amazing to you have to have skips to play in the drum line
what year did you get cut from Big8 again?
@sethquadz it dont have to be a Morris Brown ripoff cuz guess it, Re-Ak-Shon has the same beat pattern as James Brown's Funky Good Time
i love when they stop and tenors start a clinkn
Love the 'Noles. They FSU because they are FSU. see what i did there?
woooo sh-shots!!!
5:04 i love that!
7:30 was the end of all hope
merkin on yo bitchass haha ! I love it !
go quads !
I've never had care for FSU as a whole or at all, but this is A-MAZANG!!!
7:25 though
Imagine not letting your drum line opponents play for a full 8 minutes (kinda makes me mad)
I'm not the one trolling with negative feedback on this video. Go practice.
Let's see... a marching band who never lost a halftime show or a bunch of heifers... I mean bulls. Noles all the way!
Big 8 never lets the other lines play! Troy beat them back in the early 2000’s and they don’t want that to happen again!
Oh, and I'm in band and I go to every drum line sectional our band has. Our instructor played in the Big 8. I've seen the Big 8 perform live. This video just does them no justice. It's a crappy recording. I'm sure if you saw them live, you wouldn't have the same opinion.
How can people say USF lost? The video doesn't even show them play. They are very good sports in congratulating the Noles on their performance, but this only shows half of the 'battle'.
@Congobruh4
Well you just said that it was a ripoff of Morris Brown. And you also accused us of stealing your cadence. Want me to go listen to every cadence by Morris Brown and identify where their beat patterns originated?
She's a Nole! She's a Nole! She's a Nooooooooolllllllllllllllllleeeee! And what does she do?!
Marching Chiefs are the best college band, hands down.
MCATDT!
this is why i hate these type of lines. their cadences are way to long. in the swac four rounds of drumline battling would have happened
They're not crap. And I have to agree that it is pretty awful that they played that..and well, everything else xD
Yeah, complete rape... FSU!!!
That was a real nice battle. I was just checking out one the other day
\
watch?v=lhZdn_XEtow
USF=PWND.
wack af
This is not a drum battle. The is called the Big Eight Sequence. A drum battle is when the other band plays too.
