Thank you so much for this I love Grace Livingston Hill books. The reader is a little robotic but I really enjoy when she sings the little hymns. I don't have time to read but it is nice to listen as I drive. I laughed and listened twice about the little song about Grandma's chair.
And hope that young people will give Grace Livingston a chance to see over 100 years ago some of the horror books were written and she has a plethora of books that are well regarded still in print and worthy of a read
Trying to finishing this fine work I want to say it has more religious inclination towards expression and many of Grace Livingston Hills books which I’ve read many this is the most I’ve ever encountered in terms of the Christian effect and yet I found it enjoyable I would suggest the next book if you are following this is the third in the series that is on UA-cam the enchanted barn how do people live in difficult times remember this these books are set another time and even to find a place big enough and perhaps some would consider the place that you end up on worthy but how you view it how do we view our family in the enchanted barn Isabel that andThe cultivation of humility and then the love of others shown towards those who are lesser ones in terms of their financial capability remember it takes humility to accept provisions and that should be a part of our concerted effort to cultivate as a Christian or Christian ethic too so this book indeed has a lot of religious or scriptural delivery and it’s the most I’ve encountered and Grace Livingston Hill so far and I’m I’m probably a couple of hours away from finishing it but I did enjoy it the thought process and remember a minister is involved in this so the effective it is towards the cultivation of the pattern of the people are in the missionary ethic once you listen to the story goes from the point of people who don’t do people who do to work in be Bea
I love this story and have read it many times. The only really confusing part to me, is that through most of the book Celia doesn't want to be friends with Rev. Stafford. She has this idea in her head that because he is cultured and educated, that he will look down on her because she is just a poor shop girl living in a boarding house, neither of which are true. I mean she need not work at all if she chose. She works at the ribbon counter solely because she wants to hide the fact that she is in charge financially of the boarding house. Also, she lives in the boarding house by choice, not because of reduced circumstances. Also, she makes a comment earlier in the book, Chapter 8 or thereabouts, that most ministers don't make more than $900 a year, and he is running a poor parish, so in actuality, he would be marrying up not down. It makes no sense that she would think that. If they made some plans together on ways to improve the house and perhaps set up Bible study, that would be a perfect opportunity for her to tell him privately that she had more than enough financial means for anything they cared to put in place. That would have solved her entire problem: he would then realize she didn't need to work, wasn't poor, and would stop worrying that he was looking down on her ( which was all in her head anyway). But how many of us do the same thing? We have an idea in our heads about how others see us which is completely wrong, and yet we go on thinking it because we never say what is really on our mind.
Second note her aunt that she had rescued was hole in her relationship with the Lord and it’s obvious so she’s leading her niece as well as those that they come to be in the circle around them that’s created or presented it’s interesting about judgment the highest people in the upper echelons of society as they say judge very powerfully the trickle down to those who have less but find a way to judgment is a consciousness that’s presented in this book very beautifully I it can be enjoyed I hope that people will give Grace Livingston a chance this was interesting I have suggested another book with that influence of the Christian endeavor
So this particular book seem to have an unusual conclusion it ended at chapter 25 with poetic license I think perhaps even if we missed out on the true ending I had not read this book before all the way I’ve read Grace Livingston Hill she’s favored this was as I said the book with the most Christian influence and verbiage as to scripture the words the prayers the personalities of the people those who were conquering and those in nude I felt the young woman character was on the path of the pure Christian thought process and presentation of personAnd yet she was judgmental of those who were in a lesser position than hers no I didn’t say lesser person I said lesser position by with their lives have been and how they were living before her and the situation
Continuing with Grace Livingston Hill the third in a series of books I am intending to read I spoke of Prince charming someone of the family charming and helpful willing to bring forth a need for a person the situation is very hasn’t cloudy drawer and in the emancipation of aunt create this book and I’m in the beginnings of the storyline I think I see not a prince charming but a princess charming who will prove to be that’s just my feeling someone who will be helpful andAnd honoring towards others and particular let’s say family members to come I said princess because Abraham and Sarah were at before God change their names Abram and Sarai Sarai that name means princess her name was Walter too princess of God basically is what a part of the name Sarah means godliness and come to her and so we look for those things and we think of a princess someone who has the power the capability to assist another and then I think that is one of the troops as to the way I am viewing it prints and Hebrew that would be sore or princess SaraiOr the princess that comes to be a godly one is Sarah did after trials and waiting so I’m looking forward to enjoying this one
Yes I agree cannot listen to this,I tried several times . No disrespect but the voice is unbearable. Try the best man and the mystery of Mary ,good readers, you will enjoy.
All due respect I appreciate all librivox readers but the bizarre inflection of this reading makes it impossible for me to listen to this story. I am sorry because I've enjoyed hearing The Best Man and The mystery of Mary by this author.

It would be nice to have a brief description of each book with the title.

Try speeding up the playback to 1.25 or 1.50 or to your taste. I find this helps with many videos.
No more singing please!!!
