There is a oil cooler guard because the mudguard doesn’t go lower enough to protect it whilst the radiator doesn’t have the same issue. No manufacture comes out with rad guards stock. Weirdly. I had an R1 with 95,000km on the clock. No issues with headlight (same led im units used). But I did use soft adhesive lense protectors.
I just bought a 21 mt-10 Black Raven love it but it also I know what you're saying it runs hot real fast ( I'm in Florida also) and I don't like that I'm trying to figure out what to do to get it to run little cooler and I understand about the radiator guard I'm going to purchase one and yes I'm surprised Yamaha did not factory install one
I have heard when you get rid of the catalytic converter it runs a bit cooler, and changing the coolant to engine ice will help out. Our bikes definitely do not like any kind of slow speeds or stops without getting hot quick in this Florida heat, I usually find myself on backroads because of this but I still wouldn’t count out our cooling systems ability to shed heat quick. You could always ecu flash and get the fans to turn on earlier and not at 220
@@CJ-vr8jr I thought of taking out the cat and put the stock exhaust back over anew midpipe but the can isn't much of a muffler the cats the muffler I normally just get and keep moving and keep the temperature down so I figure out what I'm going to do lol I run semi synthetic bel-ray and at 3000 Miles I'm going to dump it then full synthetic belray 10w40 with that kind of hate the full synthetic oil help
@@mototechsam3051 that’s why I have chosen to keep my cat on the bike for now. I like it not being way to loud but still has those rumbles that rev you’re heart especially when downshifting.

For some reason it’s hard to find the comfort seat in stock anywhere. I know Corbin sells very nice custom seats for this bike but they are kinda pricy. The radiator guards are readily available online for pretty cheap which is nice but still I would expect it to come with the bike. Thanks you too👍🏽
@@CJ-vr8jr it’s a nice bike and for the price being so much lower than the other heavy hitters I guess I wouldn’t Ming shelling out a few bucks to make it better..for $13k they can only do so much..but enjoy that ride out there..
@@CJ-vr8jr The oil cooler is obviously more exposed and therefore more in need of a guard. Never heard of any headlight problem before, and you buy a naked bike and complain about not having a high windshield? Dosent make much sense too me atleast.
Yes I'm in North Central Florida my mt10 ran hot also real fast at a light I just shut the ignition off and the seat could have been better but they're not going to give you everything you want on a bike you're going to have to build the bike 2 what you want I just bought a 22 t7 and I'm building it to the way I want it built my crash bars my skid plate barkbusters shorty levers rear rack ect
Yamaha Comfort Seat, as low as $240, beautiful seat. Puig windscreen depending on how high you want it, $130-170. Chinese knock-off imitation of Evotech oil cooler and radiator gaurds, $65 and they're damn near as good as the Evotech at double the price. Pretty cheap improvements 🤔
@@2wheelslunacy I changed to braided brake lines and it feels better now (I havent tested them at track yet). But I've heard that people have changed also calibers and mastercylinder.
@@mototechsam3051 well I wish it didn't blast super hot air at me when sitting at a red light but realistically it runs cooler than the R1 and it's not going to be much cooler than it is with that engine and power even just riding around at lower speeds like 35 it dosnt get over 170 wich is a plus even in 100 degree weather, no matter what I am in love with mine in raven black 2021 model there is 1 other thing and it's not coming with a radiator guard that kinda grinds my gears.

I bought some protectors for my new headlights on the bike and after 10k miles they are still good 👍🏽
No - for an Naked ist the wind protection really good!

Heard the comfort seat was pretty good, do they make a radiator guard? And the headlight problem is just wow..good luck and ride safe

You just named everything I got 😂 I opted for a Corbin saddle seat instead of Yamaha
These are minor things nothing to worry about, compared to ktm’s or ducati’s 😅
Yes I said #2 twice I know guys shhh🤦♂️💩
I love my MT-10, but like you said the seat is terrible 😄 And also brakes are not best.. So with new seat and brembo brakes this would be dream bike.
it does have Brembo in the master and rear cilinders, the calipers are not Brembo tho.

Where did you get the crash guards?
Someplace called crazy iron from Russia before the Ukraine thingy
230 you got issues..
All the issues you stated where facts even on the 2021 model I just picked up most of them can be fixed with more money but still wtf yamaha
What's your input on getting the MT 10 to run cooler?

Yes it blast some heat when the fans kick on so I usually get out of town and get up on us 19 and ride
