Your flight took off on runway 36L, better know as the Polderbaan. That runway is so far away from the main terminal area, it has it's own control tower.
Thanks to using AMS as my base of operations for this whole trip, I got very familiar with the Polderbaan runway haha. And you all will too by the time we're done with this trip haha. I didn't realize one of their main runways was closed when I picked AMS for this trip haha.
I just want say a big thank you for your incredible and hard work. I'm a flight simulator content creator and I'm using your videos as a reference when finetuning the graphic filters to make it look as realistic as possible. Love watching your videos and I wish you a great succes😍
Yeah... You know, when I booked this whole trip and picked AMS as my base of operations, I didn't realize one of their main runaways. The one right next to the terminal.. Was closed for reconstruction. So, I got to fly in/out of what they call the Polderbaan runway seen here in this video many times on this trip haha. I felt like we were taxiing all the way to Germany for takeoff haha.
That seemed as a very huge airport (Schiphol). From the gate to the runway it seems about 25 minutes of strait taxing, at a moderate speed, with a very brief stop for traffic.
Schiphol is a big airport, for sure. That said, it is a big exaggerated here as one of their main runways right next to the terminals is closed for resurfacing. So, we had to taxi all the way to a runway that is so far from the terminals that it doesn't even have a fence around it and it has a separate control tower haha. So typically, you wouldn't need to taxi as long as we did here. Here's a link to an interesting article if you'd like to read about that runway and why it's so far away from the airport. simpleflying.com/why-is-amsterdam-schiphols-polderbaan-runway-so-far-from-the-terminal/
I did see that. I think it's mostly public posturing if you ask me... There are a bunch of maintenance issues and emergency stations in the US and world every day in aviation. You can look on flight radar right now and find flights diverting for a multitude of reasons. This is once again and knee-jerk reaction that the FAA id doing because the media has everyone up in arms about the Boeing Max issues. I'd bet if you actually look at a graph showing all issues it would be very similar to previous months.
And he's OFf on his Amazing Race around the world!! I'll bet Phil Koeghan handed you that clue in person. Remember to read the clue very carefully. So many of the racers mess up on that. And when you ender a new country, remember to Drink The Ooze so you'll adapt to the local language. Almost time for you to view the Big Eclipse!! Are you ready? And if you ever go thru a wormhole and end up in a galaxy 10 billion light years away, be sure to record everything in full detail. As that Navy SEAL said in The Abyss, "Roger that. Document as much as you can."

If you fly to Ontario again In the future, you should try flying on either American, Delta or Southwest
I noticed the first officer had 2 bars! He may be in training! Very interesting.
15:20 This might be the longest taxi i have ever seen on your channel, almost 20 minutes 😂

It must have been very early morning when you got to Amsterdam airport!
Since I used Amsterdam as my base of operations on this trip, it was very early in morning many mornings when I got there haha.
YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
First and a great flight! Have you heard the FAA is reviewing United Airlines after waves of incidents? What do you think?

I am ready for the eclipse. As ready as I can be haha.
I thought Aer Lingus Retired their A320’s to replace them with A321neoLR/A320neo
No no no that's for longer routes that they use the 321neo
Like to America
They may be in the process but when I was there in February, the vast majority of their planes that I saw were CEO A320’s.
@@sla31 ye all aer LINGUS routes from dublin into Europe are either CEO320s or rarely 330s to most commonly spain
Good beautiful and so cute 💕🥰🌹 I am from Pakistan❤❤😊
Yes, Irish accents. You have the luck of the Irish! lol
You taxied half way to your destination.
If the North Sea and Irish Sea weren't obstacles along the way me just might have haha. 😂
👍
