no parrot or Xerox performance here. Lewis brilliantly humanizes this mathematical music, and makes it his own. He does Bach proud, because Bach was an original too.
I wasn't actually aware he is a Jazzist. I've arrived here to listen to the original classical piece, and it turning into jazz was the coolest unexpected thing ever.
§ This is such a MASTER-PIECE of brilliant precise & yet so emotional modern version of this so-refine Prélude 13teen from Bach that I can only feel shame to have been more than a DECADE actively recommending around me this so-delicate & perfect version with its so dynamic style from the best energy of Classic rising to the most delicious Jazz. *** Please, UA-cam, spray out all over this MARVEL to let people know what is really SUBLIME. Thank you, *infinitely* §---M---§ ***
I'm glad you finally got around to listen to it (more than a decade...that's a long time coming) and enjoyed it. At least in this instance, good things do come to those who wait!
@@StanimirLeca Oh thank you so much for sharing this so precious version! To let you know the truth, I discovered this pure jewel on a rare good French movie from 2002, entitled, La Vie Promise/THE PROMISED LIFE which had an excellent soundtrack I warmly recommend : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_vie_promise And since I've been searching for this Music, and all the other pieces from thé film like there's no tomorrow. ; but thanks heaven & luck by you & your post there is a "today".
I think it’s on the first of his three albums devoted to the WTC, with the collective title “The Bridge Game”. Lewis played Bridge with friends and has provided titles for the individual works here related to his bridge playing friends and the strategies of the fame - way beyond me! I have enough of a challenge learning the fingering in this difficult key, and sussing out the harmonic progressions. a wonderful way to pass the time!
@@patriciamersman3413 I found it on google thank you! Tried to get it on apple music but only found an album of a guy named « John Lewis Grant » who also plays the well tempered clavier what were the odds.
I was privileged to share an office with this gentleman at the City College of New York.

И Бах не был бы в восторге?
C'est un gag ... ou il a oublié de lâcher le frein à main ?
