@@Coquettelectricmilk it’s because jewel versions are cheaper to produce so it make the final product cheaper too so fans can buy it for less money than the normal kpop albums, it’s not for the aesthetic it’s because more fans will buy it since it’s affordable, equal to more sales for their albums bc it counts too, basically they do that for increase “X” artist total sale numbers, it’s all about money and is a good/bad tactic try to make good numbers that they would not have

I try to get what I can the problem with Kpop and Jpop is that they put out too many variations and I cant always afford to get every variation that comes out the places I get mine from that are affordable sometimes just don't have certain variations or are out of stock so I do the best I can 2nd I like Jewel cases the CDs are protected better less likely to get scratches or scuff marks unlike the the cheap paper cardboard or plastic wrap sleeves that they use
