- We had a chat with Danny of Angerfist after his latest Las Vegas performance at Sounds Of The Underground in September 2012. Our host - Chris Aurelius - has him talking about big hardcore parties in Holland and his take on playing the genre on the Las Vegas Strip among other interesting topics.
Note: DJ Angerfist had an MC with him during the performance, Chris mentions a "Duo" meaning the MC + Angerfist

Angerfist is fucking right. At the moment, people want clean, slow house/dubstep/electro music in clubs. Its impossible for the majority to enjoy Hardcore in clubs. And thats good, I want it to stay at small gigs/raves internationally but still huge as fuck in Germany/Holland/Italy/Belgium. Please Hardcore do not go mainstream.

Las Vegas has become an EDM mecca for the US. All clubs' main rooms now play Electronic Dance Music, the side rooms play Hip Hop. The US is behind Europe 10 years+ on musical taste, but it's changing for the better. We had Chris ask the question because we were interested to hear Danny's comment on it, we are hoping for a day when Hardcore and Hard Dance (and variations) are played for bigger crowds in Las Vegas. The scene is improving, we're very happy about it.
i always been a huge fan of angerfist i love his stuff he makes its so hard and the best music i herd in my life keep makeing that awesome amazing stuff danny much love from me too you

damn it i wish i lived in vegas i love Hard dance music and its hard to find events in colorado with any type of hard dance music... they only have electro and house events here!

I'm american who loves hardcore/gabber/J-core and been listening since 2009/2010. Its cool that you came to the states and played maybe one day I'll go. However the sad fact is that most Americans listen to whatever is mainstream. I would hate to see the my favorite music being used by top 40 artists.

I've been to Holland 3 times to MOH (Master of Hardcore) events, in 2004 Unleash the beast with 15,000 people, 2005 The Core Supremacy 20,000 people and, 2010 The Voice of Mayhem 23,000 people. Gonna go back in 2015 to celebrate 20 years of MOH.

just to clarify, what you say is true for the US probably, but not for the countries of origin and neighbours :P -> holland, germany, belgium, and countries like italy, poland and stuff play it everywhere aswell.

come to europe, we have parties like this everywhere, i live in england so i can hop on a plane for as little as £35 and go to a massive hardcore festival, all this for under £100 ;)

Well, as much as I respect you, I have to disagree with this.
Well dubstep is 140, it's okay, but not so clean. There's tons of aggressive and raw dubstep. Search :D
+Prydestalker I am prety sure what Danny is saying is... that Dubstep in general is slower and cleaner where as Hardcore in GENERAL is intense and aggresive,.. you are not telling me Dubstep is faster then Hardcore.

Yeah Dubstep is slow, it's about 140bpm which is close to Hardstyle but it's only halftime. Also, Dubstep is so fucking agressive in the form of Deathstep you know.
And yeah, I listen to Hardcore everyday. *throws sheep out of window*

He never said that. He said no mather what was played noizy or mainstream the crowd loved it. I'm dutch and listened to angerfist since he started and everyone bashed you for being hardcore.
He stuck with it believing in it and worked hard for it. Like all big names in hardcore it's a lot harder to get it right then mainstream music. I for one think that he deserves the recognision and a stage like that for sticking with hardcore. Most of those guys have the expierience and skill to do very commercial stuff just to get rich but they don't. So pls don't bash hardcore dj's that have been working to get it this far for over 10 years. Thanks!!!
