It’s honestly sad how much I can relate to this. The other day we had a small gathering with my dads side of the family and my mom went all out. Made food she didn’t like, cleaned the entire house and said our rooms had to be spotless. Literally 5 minutes before she was sobbing but as soon someone walked into that door she smiled and acted all friendly like. If we said something wrong or “incriminating” she would give us a look. Everyone was going on about how beautiful and neat the house was and how much of a perfect family we were. As soon as they left my mom talked about how much she hated them and how much she hated the entire thing in general but said “It doesn’t matter how we feel though. As long as people perceive us as kind and organized people it doesn’t really matter.” That night my parents fought. My sister went on cursing and saying bad things on tiktok (she’s 9), my brother playing fortnite, throwing his remote at the wall and pushing and fighting my autistic brother (he is 10 and the autistic one is 5), and my step brother going on starting fights lying about something someone said or twisting someone’s words (he’s also 9). I don’t do anything but sit in the darkness in my room either screaming and crying, praying for everything to just stop and to actually become a perfect family or drowning out the noise and pain with music or anime. Everyone’s going on saying how much they want to be me and have my life because I’m smart and my entire family is so kind. It honestly just sucks. When my parents fight they throw things, break things and it sometimes gets physical. I just sit on my bed and stream Nobody, crying. I want it all to just stop. :/ Also sorry if I come off as a cringe middle school girl I just wanted to get this off of my chest. 😕
