I had NO IDEA there was a "Papillon" remake! I love the one from 1973! I need to see it again and this remake. With Charlie Hunnam and Rami Malek no less.

Wait, they said that Charlie turned down the role and then it was given to another actor, but then he couldn't do it anymore so Charlie finally got the role of Papillon. It was Charlie, not Rami.

Uh it's not a remake it's a new take on the story it focuses more on the conditions of prisons in French Guyana in 1930's

Why is it kind of taboo to mention actors' names who turned down a role or didn't get a role or had to turn down or scheduling conflicts?
It's sounded like Rami had the role at first, but couldn't fit the schedule of filming with other projects, and then got the smaller role.
