Covering Plants: Use row covers or cloches to protect the plants from frost. These can provide insulation and keep the temperature around the plants slightly higher.
Mulching: Apply a thick layer of mulch around the base of the plants. This helps to insulate the soil, retain moisture, and moderate soil temperatures.
Pruning: Trim back any dead or damaged foliage before winter sets in. This can help the plant conserve energy and resources.
Watering: Ensure the plants are adequately watered before the onset of freezing temperatures. Moist soil retains heat better than dry soil.
Location: If possible, plant eggplants in a sheltered location where they can receive maximum sunlight during the day. This helps them stay warmer.
