Seems the main advantage to this bike is that it looks like a regular bike, rather than having the typical folding bike look. The price $1,180 does sound high, but a good bike costs a lot of money. If the cost is a problem, there are less expensive alternatives. Several years ago, I bought folding bike made by Giant, and it cost $500. I'm pretty happy with my bike.
Folding bikes are undeniably convenient, I used one every day in college. But $1200 is a little ridiculous, mine was about $120 and folded up in less than half the time. Sure, it was only a single speed, and it had 20 inch wheels, but I'm 5' 10" and it was plenty comfortable for me to ride around 3-4 miles a day on.

If it's something you got simply because… I say that because, human nature being that most people seeing something nicer, feel that way. I sharing what I know happens, not that I'm assuming that about you. My original comment was much shorter, simply saying, that if you could wait to get a bike and that this wasn't an absolute need at the moment, save your $100, and put it in an interest-bearing account, that by putting another $100 each month, after a year, you would have the money to get the bike you actually WANTED. Or another option, most Credit Unions have something along the lines of A 2nd Chance loan, for people with bad credit or no credit, that helps you establish better credit and saving habits, as the second chance loans I'm referring to are not REALLY a loan, you don't RECEIVE the money. After approval and the account set up, a set amount is “deposited” into a locked savings account, similar to a Christmas club. The difference and advantage of this is that you are paying yourself your own interest AND building credit at the same time. You make a monthly payment as if it were a loan, and this is reported to the credit reporting agencies. If you would like more information, I'm happy to help, otherwise I wish you well in your biking..

I think if you live in a city where public transport or biking for commuting purposes is common it is a good investment. I commute 40 miles round trip each day so about $35 each week/about $140 a month in gas plus my car payment and parking expenses you could easily get your moneys worth
@@joannamarie328 A 20-mile bike ride sounds a little too tiresome and perspiring to take on before work, but if one can do it, the health and financial benefits probably make it worth it.
I have a Fuji folding bike from the 90s and I absolutely love that thing. It’s very similar to this bike, but the front tire doesn’t come off. Still fits in my car really well.
Let's see if I can justify the cost of this bike. To make things simple let's round the cost up to $1,200. Then, since this is a commuter bike let's assume that I could get a halfway decent commuter bike for $300. That means we have about $900 left to cover the folding convenience. Now, let's look at the matter time. The time it took to load the standard bike was edited down, so I'll just guess it took about 2 minutes to load it up. To convert that into a dollar amount we need to put a value on our time. So let's assume that our time is worth $15 an hour. $15 devided by 60 minutes gives us 25 cents per minutes. So that means it 50 cents per loading. Let's assume that unloading takes half the time that loading does. That means 25 cents for each loadings. So, before our biking trip we load (0.50) up the bike , drive to our destination and unload (0.25), ride the bike and load (0.50) and then return home and unload (0.25). This means that we have spent $1.50 worth of our time loading and unloading our bike. This all means that we would need to go on 600 ($900 devided by $1.50) bike outings before we recouped our time saved investment with the folding bike. This doesn't take into account the fact that there is still loading, unloading, folding an unfolding time for the fancy folding bike. I'd be interested to see how this bike stacks up next to another $1,000+ normal commuter bike. Nice review. Entertaining video.
Pretty cool way to fold a bike! Lots of comments complaining about its "high" price but any middle-high end hybrid is around 1k and it only goes up from there. Road bikes pretty much "start" at $800 and any competitive roadie can cost between 2k and >12k. I have a set of wheels that cost more than this bike alone but I do question its practicality a little bit. In all honesty, you could remove the front wheel of any bike in the same fashion and it would fit in your back seats with a quick release skewer. It wouldn't be such a neat package but it would definitely fit if you didn't have anyone sitting in the back. Although we could Google it and find out, it would have been nice to include details of the components used (which brand and line of brakes/shifters/crankset etc) because that makes a huge difference on price and performance.
Leon Zhou I have two folding bicycles, both Dahons and they were fairly expensive considering their components. This bike folds at the seat tube like the Montague which is stronger and safer than at the top and downtubes.
Not a good one... It'll weigh a ton and you'll be lucky if it lasts 500 miles. But, for a casual ride every once in a while that's probably good enough for a lot of people.
You are nuts for riding outside in this weather, I live right by the Union Pacific trail, it is my spot for runs and bike rides during the non-summer months. I am glad it now connects to River Mountain loop-
Yep. Just like a bike I had in the 80's. It folded in half. Was really sturdy. Had a pin in the bottom to lock it into place. Good bike and comfortable. Bigger tires. Think would be better as a Mountain bike but not sure it could take the strain.
I think it’s funny people are commenting that 1200 is a lot for a bike. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not cheap, but that’s like a high end low/ low end mid range bike price (if you’re into biking) Guess it depends what you like to spend your money on. It honestly has pretty low end components for it costing as much as it does. I would have expected something closer to ultegras... I guess you’re paying purely for the convenience. I hope it does well for you though! Always sucks to shell out a big wad of money for something if it doesn’t fit your needs.
They're making some real nice bike racks these days. My buddy has own that holds, bikes, wakeboards and snowboards. He has a " Hidden Hitch" with a 2 inch ball and the rack just goes on that. Doesn't even touch his suv.
Thanks. I'm looking into buying a bike. What was interesting is that your friend said it was better for coasting. I'm looking for a bike that allows a good workout instead.
I used one of their mountain bikes for a while as a commuter bike, not what it was intended for but it was difficult to travel normal speeds, on roads, but got me to and from well.
I should add it was a tank, I was struck by several vehicles who ran redlights and stop signs and even hit a armored truck and the bike was still usable with only minor repairs.
Hello from the UK, I got a Ebike and it folds it cost £550 with delivery and you get a 5 year warranty on the battery but your looks good love the white colour on it.
The most basic bare-bones beginner quality bikes start at around $500. A good quality mid speced bike ballparks around $1000. I don't know that this would qualify as such, we'd have to have a real bike review on it but I could see it in the $500 range if it's decent. But not much more.
didnt even mention anything about the components. Please make sure you do this as there is a huge difference between something like a shimano tourney components and a shimano xt components Also are the rims double walled?
As a local Las Vegan, it's super interesting to see you drive around and go to local places. Would you ever consider reviewing local products or locations?
So which city would you think is worse for bicycling - Vegas or Miami? Miami, temps in the 90's, and humidity in the 90's too - oh, and regular afternoon thunderstorms as well. Vegas, 100+ degree temps - but rain is rare.
I needed a folding bike for commuting to the big city by train and using the bike in town, because a folded bike travels free in germany. I bought a cheap, chinese folding bike (Trinx Striker MTB), because lots of bikes get stolen at university. Still, I got a 26", fully spring-suspended bike, 21gears and disc brakes which folds without removing the front wheel for about 600$ (a bit more than 500€). The one negative point is the weight, with it being about 47 pounds. But since I am a big guy, I needed something durable. Greetings from germany!
Place the ball of your foot on the center of the pedal. Much better ride. $1180 not too bad for that segment of bike. My MB was $900, so I get the pricing aspect.
Nice review! Might I please respectfully suggest that in future reviews of this type, you possibly consider reviewing the quality of components and specs (i.e., frame weight/material, drivetrain components, clip/clipless pedals, wheels, seat, etc.)? I do realize we can go to the website, but I rely on your reviews to be my Cliff notes to save me valuable research time in a real world environment.
I dunno if you’ve looked it up yet, but the components on this bike are pretty low end. They’re definitely not worth the price tag. It’s a shimano Claris groupset. There are varying levels of Claris, but this is one of (if not THE) cheapest. You’re paying purely for the convenience of it folding. you can get a far better bike with nicer components for the same price or even less, if you’re willing to have a bike rack.
One problem I always have with bikes (other than the price) is how accommodating they can be to taller people I’m 6ft,5 so I’m not sure how comfortable this would be for my back with the handles been so low and how close my knees would be to the bars is another common issue I’ve had with bikes It would’ve been nice to see you try and find people of varying height not just tall but asp shorter people and see how it can adjust to meet peoples requirements but other than that I think you did a good review but thought I’d suggest this in case you ever do more reviews like this in the future
I was thinking about getting a bike to ride to work and a foldable bike would certainly be ideal, but that price wouldn't be worth it for something I'd use for a ride that's only a few blocks away. It's a pretty dope bike tho.
Comparing how that packs down vs a road bike is somewhat misleading I feel as most, if not all mid tier(and higher) road bikes have quick release wheels. So while it wouldn't pack down as much as the fold down, it would certainly be easier to get into the boot than shown. I'm curious to see how this would compare to a Brompton though. Great review though, seems like a good product.
If this bike folded up enough to put in my wallet (where my $1,200 used to be) then I would buy it. Until then, I will stick with Normal Bikes and pay 80 bucks for a bike rack.
I would love to have a folding bike that i could take with me when i travel but i don't want to spend $1200! I was hoping for something around the $300-$500 range. Although it does look like a good quality bike.
Can you tell me what's the size of your bike in this video? Flatbike.com sells four different sizes. Is the one in this video an 18", 19", 20.5" or 22"? I just wanted to get a sense of the size first if I decide to order one.
How much was Sebastian’s bike, since he talked about quality of shifting and overall better quality of folding bike compared to his Schwinn? Thanks for the review.
I might have looked at these bikes during my bike hunting back when I played Pokémon Go, lol. Had my sibling stayed interested in the game, I wanted the both of us to get bikes as there was a large park that was a great hotspot for all the things of the game. Alas, he and I moved in as roomies when we moved out from mom and far away from that park...or anything for Go as a whole; we're on the outskirts of town. So I let go of my desire of a bike. Not just that, but I'm plus sized, about 250lbs. Most bikes seem just a hint out of being able to support me, so I'd have to lose weight FIRST before I could use a bike O_o Talk about counter-intuitive, lol.
Love your reviews (not so much the live feeds). Curious to know if you've thought about testing the products warranties? Calling the support number and seeing how friendly they are. Do they offer free shipping if you wish to return an item or if it needs to be repaired?
I wonder why Sebastian doesn't have a quick-release for his bike's wheels. Is that something you don't fit road bikes with? I feel like it'd fit in the truck a-okay that way. The change bike sounds awesome if you want to take your bike on the bus and not have it take much space!
Super interesting bike to expensive though I guess you pay for what you get. I am actually curious to see a review on the global vision Hercules sunglasses from you because other reviews are not great.
I'm surprised at the comments. Is $1,200 expensive for a Walmart or Target bike? Extraordinarily so. But take one walk though a decently sized Schwinn retailer or REI shop and you'll feel differently.
Sebastian, check out a video of Dan Mace and try to get on his 100 videographers he needs.. And that bike looks nice but I also would want a more race bike that this leisure type of bike.. But then again, it's about the foldability and that looks okay? 👍
Thanks for having me on the review!!

I have a ChangeBike. The model 612 which is the mountain bike. It's Freakin awesome!
So which city would you think is worse for bicycling - Vegas or Miami? Miami, temps in the 90's, and humidity in the 90's too - oh, and regular afternoon thunderstorms as well.
Vegas, 100+ degree temps - but rain is rare.
A honda crv is no a truck
The Sondors X-Fold is that price and has an electric motor. It's a fat tire bike so different that that commuter model.
1100?!? Outrageous.
Biking is a very specific skill and normally any low cost bikes just are not durable enough.
He's probably not a bike expert.
One problem I always have with bikes (other than the price) is how accommodating they can be to taller people I’m 6ft,5 so I’m not sure how comfortable this would be for my back with the handles been so low and how close my knees would be to the bars is another common issue I’ve had with bikes
It would’ve been nice to see you try and find people of varying height not just tall but asp shorter people and see how it can adjust to meet peoples requirements but other than that I think you did a good review but thought I’d suggest this in case you ever do more reviews like this in the future
I was thinking about getting a bike to ride to work and a foldable bike would certainly be ideal, but that price wouldn't be worth it for something I'd use for a ride that's only a few blocks away. It's a pretty dope bike tho.
Thanks for the review of the Change Bike 702!
Why does it cost $1,200?
I'm assuming the R&D is the reason for at least half of what it costs.
That’s a great design, it’s pricey but I can see why. Thanks for the review😃
They should make 1 x drivetrain with lesser wires.
Great review though, seems like a good product.
hes such a dad
If this bike folded up enough to put in my wallet (where my $1,200 used to be) then I would buy it. Until then, I will stick with
Normal Bikes and pay 80 bucks for a bike rack.
On the folding bike the British air born had them in WW 2
I would love to have a folding bike that i could take with me when i travel but i don't want to spend $1200! I was hoping for something around the $300-$500 range. Although it does look like a good quality bike.
@freakinreviews does flex glue really work like they show in the commercials
Nice branching out a bit not my cup of tea but I like something a little different
Can you tell me what's the size of your bike in this video? Flatbike.com sells four different sizes. Is the one in this video an 18", 19", 20.5" or 22"? I just wanted to get a sense of the size first if I decide to order one.
Anyone remember the Dahon Folder offered on TV ads decades ago?
Wow that’s an awesome bike, I’ve never seen one.👍🏻👍🏻
Now this is a review I wanted to see! Thanks!
I miss Vegas. Nellis AFB, N Vegas. Great video.
First thought, why did you not take the bike over to Sebastian ;-)
Oh and remeber to get a plastic cover for the chain, so it dos not ruin your seats.
Love your reviews (not so much the live feeds). Curious to know if you've thought about testing the products warranties? Calling the support number and seeing how friendly they are. Do they offer free shipping if you wish to return an item or if it needs to be repaired?
they could at least fit the shocks on the front fork
thank you very much.Quick shipper.Good Product.
Review a Segway minipro. Would be way better for commuter
1180 wtf for me that's to much for a bike that doesn't have a motor
Joe Loveland there’s $5k trek mountain bikes without a motor
Great concept, looks amazing...super steep price.
BTW, can you raise the bars and seat? If so will it fold with them raised?
Lol. You should do a grading scale on you reviews: review, freakin' review, Super Freakin' Review.
Love the channel and love the video love it
I purchased a Dahon Speed 7 folding bicycle that includes fenders and a rear rack for $347....I think a better value....
I wonder why Sebastian doesn't have a quick-release for his bike's wheels. Is that something you don't fit road bikes with? I feel like it'd fit in the truck a-okay that way. The change bike sounds awesome if you want to take your bike on the bus and not have it take much space!
It's a cheaper bike and that's a place where costs were cut. Qr axles and skewers are more expensive.
cool bike james white
What's the weight limit on that bike, though?
Great review seems perfect for my small car, the price is pretty steep though.
Super interesting bike to expensive though I guess you pay for what you get. I am actually curious to see a review on the global vision Hercules sunglasses from you because other reviews are not great.
Don’t want to ride a bike but watched anyway because of the quality of the review!
Where can one buy this??
Is it foldable?
Love it! keep the awesome videos coming! cant wait for the next video
I'm surprised at the comments. Is $1,200 expensive for a Walmart or Target bike? Extraordinarily so. But take one walk though a decently sized Schwinn retailer or REI shop and you'll feel differently.
perfect hipster product - overpriced and gimmicky.
For sure it attracts attention and is odd, but it perfectly does exactly what it's supposed to do well. Therefore it isn't gimmicky.
Thats a really "freakin" awesome bike lol
Are normal bikes not good enough anymore?
I didnt know this exists. Thanks
You should review medcline pillows please! 😁
Good review. Don't limit yourself to As Seen On TV merchandise.
It's kinda like the one James May on Top Gear has.
Do they have a smaller model?
Yes they do have different sizes and styles.
There are several other folding bicycles, some of which are cheaper.
Really like the folding idea... But the price, not so much!
Sebastian, check out a video of Dan Mace and try to get on his 100 videographers he needs..
And that bike looks nice but I also would want a more race bike that this leisure type of bike.. But then again, it's about the foldability and that looks okay? 👍
