Through a variety of circumstances, I got to join two friends after one of her big concerts back around 1997 and we ended up in her dressing room with a bunch of other people. I was the only one there who didn't really know her. She could NOT have been warmer and nicer to me. Went out of her way to make me feel welcome. What an amazing lady. I don't think Liza's talent ever went to her head nor have I ever seen any sign of ego.
There's an obvious sense of humility and gratitude about her. She's classy, real and inclusive. What a great cover of a Billie Holiday song. It would have been great if she had teamed up with Streisand.
Thanks for this great video. No one but Liza can do what she does here. No demands for a special band or her own accompaniment as every other major star would do and yet she performs the song better than any of them could possibly do. Just amazing. And so under rated in every way. The “others” would require precise camera angles, special sets, their own musicians etc. Not Liza. Just pure talent and unmatched musicality.
It happened during a writer's strike. To fill time, he had just gotten a professional shave on-air and the barber had cut him right before he introduces Liza.
Hello, Don! I just beg you to upload Letterman from 1986 with Michael Keaton (guess it was 3/12/1986)! I've been looking for it for months and still haven't found it. The channel with the episode was deleted. Hope you see my comment🙏 Thank you
As much as Liza lived amongst the "stars", I always felt that she was likely autistic and that was why her responses seemed "off" to the people who interviewed he. Liza's early career "should have" catapulted her, but her mother's legacy hindered her. Liza always seemed nervous to me, even in situations where she would be expected to rule. Love to you, Liza! xx
Sightseer, hard to believe ,your not a liza fan.thats okay, being she has millions of fans who consider her the greatest female entertainer that ever kived.
@@robertr8386 Not the reason I was never a fan, but the face of Rudolph in the 1964 stop-motion children's classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer always seemed like it was modeled after Liza's young face. Go ahead - take a look at Rudolph on its IMDB page and tell me that ain't Liza if she gets reincarnated as a deer!

Yay!!! The great Liza! Thanks for sharing
We love Liza. I recently saw her during this time of her life. She was at Carnegie Hall: perfection!👍♥️👏👏👏♥️♥️
Liza will always be my favorite. God bless you Liza. Love you xo
Agree with commenter who said No one but Liza can do what she does here. ..One and only!
She looks very pretty
Great smile
She's Fabulous as always !!
So talented! So gorgeous! So thrilling!
So gay!
Between 40 and 50 she was just gorgeous.
She is an all time gorgeous ❤️🏳️🌈
That's a backhanded compliment she's eternally beautiful
She looked better in her 40’s than in her 20’s.
@@filmmekker Absolutely.
I've NEVER SEEN THIS! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
At 1:47… Reminds me of my favorite role of hers in the original first film "Arthur," which was in the film she says "well, I hate an infection!" :-)
Yerah!! lmao.
She looks so gorgeous!
How did she manage to look better in her 40’s than in her 20’s and 30’s?
@@filmmekker I think most women do.
She only got better with age. Her voice was so strong. Love this version.
No more words!! |/:).
Letterman seemed oddly nervous and off his game. Liza, as usual, was a pro.
He may have had a secret crush on her.

@@MountTheodore72 Yes. It seemed he'd been watching her since he was young. Plus, his Venus is in Pisces, so he's attracted to them.
And her Venus is in Aries, so there might have been a mutual thing.
He had to be crushing on her. She's looking cute as fuck here
Legend.
The Best . Liza "I LOVE YOU"
The worlds greatest star now then and forever🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
That; is from the; Bob Hope special!! |/:).
She was 42 here and looking like a million bucks. Surprised how dead the audience sounds.
My dream is to see Liza in concert and then swim in her pool
What ticket would that be???
@@hawkrider88 LOL... It would be quite the sell!
Когда на экране появляется Лайза, все остальное исчезает из кадра! Нет никого, она одна - невероятная, восхитительная и прекрасная!!!

Liza is so beautiful ❤️
Just checking...YES!! Alive!
