I'm from the U.S. and I have tried all of those snacks! Twizzlers are definitely weird, but it's one of those snacks that can grow on you, if that makes sense? Also people here debate Twizzlers versus Red Vines on which is better. Gummy candies like the ones you got are probably stale, which happens quite often especially in the small packages.

    • @aliciaballesteros-mitchell1059

Swedish fish though aren't necessarily "gummy" or squishy like gummy bears or worms. The way she described the swedish fish sounds like how they normally are; not super soft, rips a little when you bend it, kind of dense but still soft enough to be considered a "gummy candy." Same with sour patch kids, because neither of them contain gelatin. So i don't think they were stale, that's kinda just how they are.

Good American chocolate has milk, Hershey is a good brand. We do have this weird, typically holiday themed like Santa and Easter bunnies chocolate, which is basically like chewing vaguely chocolate flavored candle wax. It doesn’t melt just kind of balls up in your mouth when you chew it and it’s awful

I am not from the US so I don't for sure, but in my country the "may contain" is for heavy allergics because the product was made in the same firm as other products that contain eggs, milk etc.

i’m from the US! actually a lot of these i don’t like either haha i do love reese cup tho!! i never thought of it as sandy but once you said it i can kind of understand. fun fact swedish fish & swedish fish are made by the same company so that’s probably why the texture is similar, they’re also basically the only gummies in the US that are vegetarian/vegan friendly (the rest have gelatin).

When it says "may contain eggs" it means it's been made on machinery or in a factory that also makes other products that maybe had egg as an ingredient. This is important for people with allergies and vegans.

Hi, American here! I thought I’d share my two cents if anyone cares lol - btw you did not say anything offensive, we feel you...trust me.
Twizzlers: 100% agree, but they are kind of a snack you don’t think about, just chew while watching TV
Cheetos: i personally hate them but Americans love cheesy snacks
Jelly beans: the Harry Potter brand is a rip off bc those are just normal jelly beans, love them though.
Nerds: i love them!! Let them dissolve in your mouth for a few seconds then chew on them.
Swedish fish: are these even American LOL? I like that the flavor isn’t too strong.
Reeces: soooo popular here, kids and adults. Americans love peanut butter
Sour patch kids: find the “sour” flavored ones. We love sweet + sour combinations
Takis: HAHAHA the white people comment though! Takis are for a special group of American girls with the long nails, hoop earrings, sit at the back of the bus, you know the type
Cereal: yes, definitely a thing here. Literally every day. Kids eat the sugary colorful ones, adults usually eat bland cereal.
Pop tarts: use a toaster! But they taste very artificial. If you don’t have time for breakfast you grab a pop tart.
It’s sad that a lot of these snacks are so unhealthy and artificial but it’s all we ate as kids bc society and media shove it upon us. Hopefully we can all grow up happy and healthy!

If you want sour candy, try "toxic waste" and "warheads" but you have to get the hard candies. Soft candies are usually less sour. and ingredient to look for is "citric acid" and that usually means it's somewhat sour.

I feel the same way about Twizzlers. Feels like you are chewing on plastic. I always wondered why anyone liked them. Eating them as a kid was the biggest let down ever!
Yes, cookies and cream is just white chocolate and Oreo pieces. You'd have to try regular Hershey's chocolate to have a fair comparison.
Nerds are good but so awkward to eat! They would always get stuck in my molars.
My sons love Swedish fish. Both asked for them plus Reece's Pieces for their birthday.
I can't believe they didn't send you any Hershey's kisses or M&Ms! Snickers, Three Musketeers, Milky Way and Baby Ruth are pretty classic candy bars.

If you like sour, spicy and tasty snacks I’m 100% sure you’d probably like mexican candy.
Candy: Pulparindo, Pelon pelo rico, rellerindo, lucas, vero popsicles -mango, barrilito, piña, semáforo-, tamaroca, bolitochas, rockaleta, picafresa.
Chips: takis-yes they’re actually mexican ;), tostitos, rancheritos, sabritas of lime, adobadas, ruffles, crujitos, purple chips, churrumais.
There are so many more but I just wanted to give you examples of the savory snacks Mexico has, there’s also sweet ones but since you’re not that big about sweet snacks I listed only the ones I think you’ll enjoy.

Just saying I live in the US and twizzlers are very popular here. They have them in different flavors and they are a very popular movie snack. Also Pop-Tarts are a breakfast food here. Kids eat them for breakfast. You don't have to heat them up, but they are good. Heated. Here there not really a cookie but more just a pastry with filling. Also peanut butter cups have the sandy texture because they are made with real peanuts that get ground into peanut butter. Lastly, fruit loops are not that big, what you got is called the jumbo snacks which are basically bigger fruit loops designed for snacking on the go. Sour patch kids are usually pretty sour, what you got was this sour patch kids watermelon and those aren't as sour as regular sour patch kids. If you really want to try something sour, you should try sour gummy worms or warheads. Warheads are our version of sour candy, but you need the hard ones to really get the sour taste. Also white chocolate is generally a lot. Sweeter here than milk chocolate or dark chocolate. In the state where I live in America there is actually a town called Hershey and there they have a whole theme park devoted to Hersheys candy. It is called Hershey Park. There is also a store you can go to. That is right next to the park called chocolate world and they have a little ride in this store where you can actually go through and see how they make the chocolate. Also some adults here eat nerds as well. Usually people either put a little bit in their hand and just pop it into their mouth or they just pour some from the box directly into their mouth. If you really want to try something unique you, you need to try pop rocks what they are is sometimes sour broken up. Almost mini crystals of hard candy that pop in your mouth when you eat it. Some people crunch them a little bit while others just let them dissolve on their tongue.

I’m sorry for so many comments lol I’m commenting as I am watching. Yes so children usually eat cereal before school. Not every day. We also eat bagels, oat meal, toast, granola bars or fruit, or a full American breakfast if there is time to cook. Adults do occasionally have some sugar cereal but we eat it more for an occasional nostalgic snack. Not for breakfast every morning. We usually would go for a less sweet cereal. The watermelon sour patch kids aren’t as sour as the normal ones. And yes we also like normal gummies. Try trolli sour gummy octopi. Those are the best.

I’m from the US and yes there are people who really eat Twizzlers. I’m older, and I was never into Sour Patch Kids. Lay’s is making “Flamin’ Hot” everything and honestly I don’t think it’s as spicy as it was in the beginning. Swedish Fish, I can take or leave & I mostly leave. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, if I bite into one and it’s grainy I usually throw it away because to me that indicates they’re old and should have been discarded. Personally I like to eat them cold from the refrigerator. I’m an adult, and while it’s not an every day thing I eat cereal. Its quick, perfect if you don’t feel like cooking, but know you need to eat something*.But not cereal like Froot Loops. Pop Tarts, I use to eat those, but I ate them straight out of the wrapper not warmed. Takis, they’re ok, another snack I can take or leave. Some people like spicy but I prefer salty. * I’m sure someone’s thinking toast is quick, I don’t like toast from a toaster.

You got the watermelon sour patch kids. They are less sour than the original SPKs . Also the originals have different flavors for every color

I’m not American but I’m Canadian and we have all these snacks but some of them are kinda different? Like our sour patch kids are smaller and are actually sour. Our Reece’s are much flatter and our fruit loops are smaller. Also our Swedish fish are much smaller too. It’s kinda weird to me to see the same products but different…

It’s ok if you don’t like twizzlers a lot of people In the US hate the taste of those. (Plus redvines is a much better option for red licorice.)

U.S here...I hate twizlers they are like licorice 😩...pop tarts are suppose to be like a warm "pastry" lol and kids eat them for breakfast/snack

The regular sour patch kids (shape looks like the package) are SO good and are more sour and less sweet and chewy than the watermelon shape one that you got. Those are my least favorite. I was so sad when you opened them and it was the watermelon one bc you had such high hopes. 😢 I hope you get to try the good sour patch kids someday. 😊

Twizzlers are good straws. Twizzlers are an acquired taste. We used to like them because they were filling and “healthy” and our parents bought them a lot. They have a cherry kind that is better. I enjoy it every now and then for the nostalgia but if I hadn’t grown up with it I would probably not like it. For a better licorice experience try red vines. Those are like crack.

I’m American and I agree that Twizzlers are uhh no bueno. Also, I find a lot of our candy WAY too sweet…Hershey milk chocolate is really sweet and Swedish fish lowkey give me a headache.
But I definitely like Cheetos and nerds and Reese’s cups.

I ate hot flaming cheetos here in Brazil, but I hated it because it is only spicy but not tasty, and this is coming from someone that loves spicy food.

the only thing I know about American food is that it's all sugar and that they don't season their meat well 🤣

    • @moretomonica
      @moretomonica 3 роки тому +4

oh goodness lol this is true to an extent but American food is also a fusion of Mexican, Southern, Indian, Vietnamese, and a whole bunch of other cultures and they indeed do season their food if you know what I'm saying akjdks it's the popular white American food that isn't seasoned well skjfkdkd

American junk food/snacks definitely have a lot of sugar. And cereal like Fruit Loops do.

@@moretomonicaI'm looking at this from my perspective (meaning it really won't make sense) because the country's food from my point of view would be what people grew up cooking and eating at home, but in America it's alot less of a similar experience between households since America is mostly people who already have culture and have brought it with them from where they came and these cultures will mix together differently in different areas so there is really no way to determine what could be considered American food according to my requirements, so I just think about it what I hear about it.
