Hi Ice Freestyle Guardians, you sound good! Great tips on lacing up, I lace them to the top, no wonder I stink. Thanks Friends.I'll loosen them up for next time.

I always tied my laces up to the top. And I had no problem so far (about 3 years in my Ice Freestyle Journey). So the lacing is not everything, but I will give this method a try next time.

Interesting, I think that most people recommend to have the bottom part loose and the part around the ankle very tight. My feet hurt when I lace the bottom part too tight (I probably could have bought skates that fit better but I had a limited budget at that time). I'm definitely gonna try the trick you showed at the end of the tutorial part though

As I said in the video this method of lacing is for freestyle ice skating. But I definitely know what you mean. If you’re having pain obviously you have to work around that. But one thing I noticed is the quality of skates is very important when it comes to pain not necessarily how you lace your skates. For example I had a pair of Bauer vapor 2X like 3 years ago and I had to be very careful not to tie my skates too tight. Now I have ccm ft6 pro skates and I would have to lace them extremely tight to ensure pain. Maybe I should have mentioned that in the video, my bad
Thanks for your comment. It’s always interesting to see how other people approach these kinds of things 😊

I use waxed laces, do not lace the top eyelets, tie a single knot, but after tying the remaining ends I tie a single knot. As a result, the laces do not come undone and the ends of the laces do not dangle. Sorry if the translator didn't translate it correctly.

Yeaaah) Thank you. I will try your recommendation today evening at local ring. Usually I used free one top pair eyelets, 2-3 next eyelets very strong and loose bottom part. With wax laces. My skates are very strong CCM AS-V (so strong as your FT Pro, I think), and top side parts of skate painful push to my leg in grapevine and gibbon tricks.

@@icefreestyleguardians thank you for rapid response for my ask) btw, do you have inconveniences with carbon skate boots? Do you have pain when top edge of the boot push to your leg on some tricks?

@@user-jb5ot9jj2k no not at all. My Bauer vapor 2x skates would hurt sometimes and they are carbon but when I switches to ccm (first I had ccm jetspeed ft4 pro and now ccm jetspeed ft6 pro) I had no pain at all. For me it really comes down to: the more you pay for hockey skates the better comfort you have
