I don't understand why so many fidget toys are so noisy. If they're intended for use in a classroom or office setting, the noise would just distract everyone else. I had multiple teachers outright ban all fidget toys because they were so noisy that they were distracting the teachers as well as the other kids!
Some people fidget using audio so fidget devices sometimes tend to have an audio fidget
Its also why people will click their pen over and over, theyre fidgeting
I have ptsd as an adult and use fidget things that click to call me down at home. There’s definitely a time and place for certain ones. I wouldn’t use it in a public place to bother others

Anyone remember the 12 inch rulers with holes? We used to put the ruler on the end of a pen/pencil using the center hole and spin away but that was in the 1960's and 70's.

as a student now i can confirm we still do that today
I’m a student and we still do that now. It’s a sort of thing that stretch’s from generation to generation really.

I know if they're loud you can't really use them in secret, but as someone who is sensitive to sound, I actually like the noisy ones better than the silent ones.

To me the Shashibo Shape Shifter is without a doubt the best of this lot. It's artsy, versatile and I like having some visual stimulation when fidgeting. Although I do have some concerns about the durability of the material, not sure how many twists it can take before it breaks.
Also it's €25,00 here in the Netherlands. That's not cheap.

the shape the shashibo cube makes is called the rhombitical dodecahedron. it's a 12-sided shape with rhombuses as its sides instead of the usual pentagon.

I’ve owned the fidget warping cube thing for 2 years. It’s pretty cool. It gets really boring after you discover every shape though.
Btw does it feel like paper? When i look at the video, i fear it might tear cause it looks thin as paper

The first one you opened my homie had the same exact one. We decided to take about 300ug each of lsd and trip balls. He brought out an item just like that and started playing with it. All the shapes looked like they were moving and it was so cool. But sadly we broke it playing with it that night

For adhd i am learning, as most people with adhd, texture is really important. Clicking a cheap pen for example is one way, the sound and the springy/semi narrow top is actually really fidgety but i really dislike it because its really annoying.
But i have found a “rock” squishy that is amazing. Its not to loud. It is like a basic squishy except for liquid its got little beads of some sort in it. It is the most satisfying thing ive played with.
Out side of that, dough balls are great, they feel like real dough.
I have a metal fig-it spinner too i really like it, but it does have a bit of weight so i can hurt my hands.
But one i have just decided to do recently is a rubik cube, it’s actually a great fidget because you have a start and end point i started doing it now getting around the 1 minute mark. But its also just really satisfying to play with. Its not as much on the texture side but its great for a lot of moving parts.
Cool I get treatment from a mental health professional and medication so I don't have to obnoxiously play with toys at my place of work/study 😃 you should try it

Shashibo/Geobender is definitely worth the $25 i constantly try to form all the shapes
but it gets Even better which would make the longevity a 6 star and thats you can use multiple cubes and combine them to make even more amazing shapes that are huge
I have one of those cubes on my desk. Had it for close to a year now and haven't gotten bored of it yet.
I think my favorite one of these is probably the squishy watermelon ball. Honestly, I get bored of things really easily and some fidgets just make me nauseous, for some reason, but I like to squish stuff. It’s relaxing.

I would like a lot of these, especially the smaller ones that make little to none noise. A lot of these toys often make noise, and I had one school ban fidget spinners because of how loud they became when set down on the desk.
Personally my favorite fidget toy I’ve found is actually a homemade slap bracelet with a ring on one end. The ring can fit around my finger and I can spin it around and flip it and do some simple tricks, but it also slaps onto my wrist so it’s super portable and makes no noise when using it. Plus since it’s homemade I can make it look like anything I want. I even made one that looked like a throwing knife so it was fun to play with

@@anah169 all you need is a tape measure and some duck tape. There’s a King of Random video that shows you how to make slap bracelets with those two thing, and then all you need to do is make a loop of tape and stick it on one end of the bracelet

The one my mom got me is 2 keyrings attactched by a bike chain link that you just flip around. It's small, quiet, and allows me to flip it in multiple ways. It's the only thing that's saved my cuticles during meetings

Ring seems the most convenient though the noises are unnecessary except maybe on the toggle switch, the cube spinner isn't bad though limited. Easily used while walking, listening to someone, chatting, watching TV, etc without bothering anyone or requiring ap much attention you stop focusing on what you're doing 🤔

I bought the shape shifting cube to play with when I’m livestreaming. My followers seem to really like it. I had my doubts about it holding up but so far so good. It’s a thick sheet of paper or card stock wrapped around the magnets and I thought for sure it'd tear or come apart. Pleasantly surprised and have thought about buying a couple of more to make bigger shapes.

I can be pretty fidgety sometimes, and while using an external toy such as this helps to make me feel calmer, what’s actually helped is meditating.
Essentially my mind is running at 200km/h and while at first it’s annoying to bring it back to one point (like the sensation of breath at the tip of my nose), over time you get WAY better at it. It helps to calm me down very effectively now and possibly within 10 seconds.
Fidget toys are cheap and have a novelty factor, but trust me the only thing that’ll really make you feel happier is knowing how your mind works.
