This was a badass album. My mommie used to work for Warner Bros when I was in a kid and she brought this album home one day... Woke up to it and went to bed to it... STICK ME!!!
I’ve been listening to Black Sabbath for fifty years. To say that out loud is wild. I listen to you all the time. Let me tell you, us Black Sabbath fans feel you. I’ve never heard them played so authentic. It’s incredible. Not even from Zakk Wylde. Who loves Sabbath. Thank you brother. 🤘

What an amazing and humbling comment! Makes doing these so worthwhile! Thank you brother!
👍🇬🇧❤MY FAVORITE SONG OF ALL TIME, SABOTAGE IS ALSO MY FAVORITE ALBUM BY FAR ❤🎸 SINCE ITS RELEASED JULY 10TH 1975. , I JUST TURNED 10 YEARS OLD 2 WEEKS PRIOR 😊
Ya know what it is an absolute monster? Your cover of this song! Sabotage is Black Sabbath at their best. I wish I could say Megalomania is my favorite but that wouldn't be fair to Hole in the Sky, Symptom of the Universe, Thrill of it All and The Writ. Thank you for sharing.

Completely agreed! I can't find a favorite on that record cuz they all RULE!!
I love it. Thank you. This is a Sabbath album that is criminally underrated. It's up there with the best of them. I think it's as good as Vol. 4 and all the other Ozzy albums prior to Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die
Рік тому+3
Well, I dunno about "criminally", lol! Just messing with ya, haha - I do know what you mean. It doesn't get nearly the praise the prior three get, for sure. And I'm in agreement on Technical Ecstacy and Never Say Die - they did seem to lose their way just a bit near the end of the "classic era". I think some questionable production choices contributed to that as well - NSD in particular is so compressed you can barely make out what the guitars are doing sometimes. Still, both of those have some amazing moments - I plan to do several covers from each when I can. "Johnny Blade" very soon actually.
First time I ever saw someone play this song. Nice job man!
Рік тому+2
Thanks very much! I think there's not that many covers of this one probably because it's pretty long and complex - a lot to memorize and play in one go.
This is probably one of the best covers I’ve watched and heard. Also the first I’ve ever heard this song covered. Phenomenal job!

Oh wow, thanks so much! I make these for the enjoyment of it, and for the pure love of the music, so comments like yours make it all worthwhile! Cheers!
HELL FREAKIN YEAH. You just rocked the all hell out of me. I feel like going home from work right now. I wore the cover off of this album I played it so many times. That was AWESOME.

That part at the end (8:50 - 9:03) , for the longest time I thought Iommi was playing power chords during that part. But then again I'm referring to the live version. Awesome cover man! New Sub!

Thank you, and for your cool comment! And you're right, Tony often changed up some of the stuff live, and IMO, often improvised some of the solo parts for a number of songs.
Excellent. Doesnt seem the easiest track to get spot on!
10 місяців тому+1
Thank you, and you're not wrong - it's probably one of the more complex of the old school Sabbath songs. Took some time to figure out correctly, and a bit of practice to be able to play it in its entirety without any flubs for the video. It's almost ten solid minutes, with numerous parts!
Amazing! One of my favorite Sabbath songs ever By the way, how did you do this screen effect?
11 місяців тому+1
Thank you! And it's one of the plug-ins for Final Cut Pro, which I use to edit the visuals on these vids. Can't recall which one - maybe a vintage filter - but I mostly find one that looks ok and tweak it 'til it does what I want. Cheers.
Thanks very much! For these videos I just use the amp sims in Logic to emulate my live rig, which is pretty old school: a Marshall 100w into a couple of cabs and my pedalboard into the front. I'm pretty basic for effects, just a distortion, flanger, a phaser, and a wah. The Logic sims allow me to tweak it a bit to try and match the sound of whatever song I'm covering but that's about it...
Good jobs man. Your guitar tuning in c# or another else? Thanks see you from Paris.
Рік тому+1
Thank you, and yes, it's tuned to C#, however the album track is slightly off. So you must tune the guitar slightly up, or pitch the track itself slightly down. Approximately 8 cents or so... Cheers! PS. I love Paris (and France); I haven't been there since 2018 but I hope to return soon! 🖤
What guitar is that your playing called and what brand is it

@@carsonpeterson758 That is an early, pre production Michael Kelley LP. Got it from an old, dear friend who kind of collected them, and I'm not sure but I do believe it's one of a kind. It's killer though!
I thought I was the only one that played this. Except I play it on a SG
Рік тому+2
I don't think it's necessary to have an SG to cover Sabbath well, although they are nice. I've owned several over the years. IMO, good tone comes from the player, not the gear. I play Slayer on a Stratocaster, after all... 😉
That mid tempo riff is off the hook! The live version too is off the hook

Totally agree! My fave live version is from the Asbury Park bootleg; in fact that's my fave live Sabbath recording period. Ozzy's at the top of his game on that one, too.

It's practically identical to the album version. Probably the best cover of a track I've heard. Awesome.

This album is one of their most appreciated and recognized. There's nothing underrated about their first 6 albums.

Absolutely 💯 percent killer tone and performance. Right on!
One of THE heaviest songs of all time! Sting me!!!!🎉
This is such an awesome cover. I found myself doing Ozzy's vocals FREEZE! at the 7:40 mark. Hopefully no public disturbance occurred
Killing It Brother! Keep On Keeping' On!!
