You tutorial videos are the best on UA-cam. You give the exact step by step instructions unlike some of the other tutorials I have seen where they have only music and Captions where they skip a few steps on captions. You make unlocking and rooting simple for those people who are not as tech inclined. I fortunately am inclined in PC Mac/ Linux Android and IOS systems. Also you save people so much time by having the download files compiled and ready available. I wish i had tutorials like this when I was learning systems and coding with ADB. Keep up the wonderful tutorials for everyone my friend told me about this video who is not tech savvy but after watching your tutorials he rooted his phone and he was like I didn't without your help feeling accomplished so thank you for making people feel proud and accomplished for teaching them how to be techie.and not having to rely on a pro to do for them.

The reason unlocking the bootloader usually performs a factory reset was actually originally designed to protect your data. That’s because back in 2010s, Android didn’t encrypt user data, so unlocking without factory reset would just bypass any screen lock and allow the thief to see your personal info. The "OEM unlocking" option under developer options was actually originally supposed to temporarily disable this factory reset protection (or FRP for short), so that unlocking wouldn’t erase your data, but it would re-enable itself after reboot if you didn’t unlock bootloader. However, on modern devices, which encrypt data, there isn’t much reason to factory reset, so companies do it just to annoy the user (if you know of another reason, let me know).

There are phones that are very strict about unlocking its bootloader, you get the codes from official websites or you buy them for extremely expensive prices. after i reboot into bootloader it doesnt connect to my pc
I'm stuck at the first step, when you open the command prompt. I type in "adb reboot bootloader" and press enter but then appears "adb server version (41) doesn't match this client (40); killing...". The device restarts. I have installed Kies because I'm attempting to unlock my Samsung gt p5110 and universal drivers won't work.
Can anyone tell me where is the problem? The tablet is rooted
I found a solution for the killing process. I had to type "adb devices" first.
My other problem is that my tablet doesn't enter the fastboot mode, it just restarts. What can I do?
One plus T-Mobile at cmd prompt fastboot oem unlock still says Flashing unlock is not allowed. So I am at a standstill. This is a one plus 6t without the oem unlock due to the fact they don't allow it with T-Mobile until completely paid off. Please help!
after i type either fastboot flashing or eom unlock it just says "waiting for any device". What should I do?
i have the same exact response
A very nice concise guide and well explained. Alas, the Umidigi One Max is still not supported by TWRP, so rooting shall have to wait.
@Avery R Thank you for the reply, and I will try that.

I clicked to download the Android for PC, but my browser stopped the tab from continuing, saying that quote,
"Your connection is not private. Attackers might be trying to steal your information "website" (undone link in the quote) (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards)."
Because of this, I unfortunately don't feel comfortable continuing forward with this tutorial. Thank you anyway! 🙏
Whenever I click Yes to the option it always Fail. Help please I use Nokia 3.1 Android version 9. The CMD also says

bro it doesnt work with me the cmd say that there is some passwords that i have no idea about it that should i type it too to unlock bootloader so i shut down it again with power button long click and turned it on again normal but still didnt unlock
btw it showed me a screen that it cover is white and have some info on it plz help me with that code thing i'm using nova 3i
There are phones that are very strict about unlocking its bootloader, you get the codes from official websites or you buy them for extremely expensive prices. I have a Huawei phone and have tried many ways to root it but it all leads the same to unlocking bootloaders, that needs a code. It appears I was a year late when Huawei still posts unlock codes on their website.
P.S *I'm sorry if my comment is 2 years late.*
my command prompt is stuck at "waiting for device" after typing in fastboot oem unlock
I get into fastboot mode and both commands to unlock give me "unknown command" error :(
WHY!????
edit: Also device becomes unrecognized (!) in device manager once in fastboot mode HELPMEEEEEE!!!!
