Beautiful!!! Looks like a Peony!! I could have a huge vase of peonies that never die!!😱 I just have to hunt for the right colours. I find crepe flowers look very real, more real than tissue paper. Because of its texture I think. I wonder what would happen if you made off white or any pale coloured one & then dip died it!!? Some flowers have that edge that is very bold in colour & highlights the edges? I wonder if you could achieve that? I will definitely give that a go for sure. But I'll just make one like yours first. I'll let you know how I go. Thanks so much for your time & effort to bring us these tutorials👏🏼😊✨🌻

I have some crepe paper, but I'm going to check my local newsagent to see if they have some other colours for this particular project. Or if I just can't wait I'll make dahlias & I have colours for those for sure😁💐
Hey there :) Just finished my first one! I did a dahlia as I don't have the right colours for a peony. It turned out beautiful!! One thing though .. You have to be aware of where your darker or lighter (which ever you've chosen the 2 layers to be) are when you're going to start shaping the flower!! My dark inside colours ended up on the outside .. Well underneath basically. It still look nice but bit of a shame. Also I didn't have florists tape so I made the stem like you did but out of green paper, wrapped the wire around it it like you do, but then I used a long thin strip of leaf green crepe paper & just glued a little bit all down one side of the paper tube & gently yet firmly wrapped it around .. Looks just like florist tape :) I had heard you can do this before so it was great to finally try it out. Thankyou so much for this. Very good tutorial, giving us all the measurements etc. Just HAVE to remember where that "middle colour" is before you start the wire & stem😊 💐✨

I can see someone easily getting carried away making crepe paper flowers and running out of stem wires to put them on, so the newspaper makes a great substitute, and it's also a preferred first choice for a thicker stem, because the thicker stem looks more natural. I'm putting your video on my Pinterest crafts board :)
