    Pretty interesting DC, pretty surprising how unsatisfied everyone seems with the final product even at this stage, does personally show me how constant much drive and passion goes into making the next episode even better than the last one and the one before and so on.
    Can't wait to see where the Case goes from here especially after the teases about getting to see more about the Turning Page Family who i really enjoyed so far, best of luck with the production despite all the issues that seem to haunt every episode even far after it has aired.

    Oh my god the guard being dropped
    Me and Serenity spent like an hour one evening discussing that and settled with him being dropped
    We never thought at the time it would be considered extremely comedic to everyone lol

    I actually just finished Case 1's Director's Commentary a few days ago, AND I'm currently rewatching the entirety of Case 2 in preparation for the next episode.
    I really enjoy these Director's Commentary, I enjoy knowing the thought process that goes into a lot of these scenes, can't wait to watch this one too.

    I wanted to take a moment to address a matter that was brought up JuliusGem / Stephan Wright in the previous Director's Commentary, something stated that I feel deserves more attention, but first off I want to commend JuliusGem / Stephan Wright for his incredible performance as the legendary Ace Attorney himself, I'll admit at first I was hesitant to accept his interpretation of Phoenix Wright, especially when coming off the heels of TheGoldCrow from Turnabout Storm, HOWEVER over time I've come to appreciate, admire and now prefer JuliusGem / Stephan Wright's interpretation as THE definitive Phoenix Wright. That's not a knockback on TheGoldCrow's stellar performance either, however JuliusGem / Stephan Wright I feel has nailed this new interpretation of Phoenix Wright AND improved upon his character. A perfect example was during Case 2 Episode 4 and the recent Bonds of Justice - Rainbow Blues, where he gives an outstanding performance, when Phoenix reveals to Athena how he made a similar mistake that she did the last time he was summoned to Equestria, the raw emotion in JG / SW's voice was spot-on perfect, you can hear the regret and unease in his voice as he recounts the memory of how he accused Fluttershy, the way JG / SW hesitates and pauses his words, his delivery lowered to an almost guilt-ridden whisper, it truly was a stellar performance, and it only continues to get better with the recent Bonds of Justice - Rainbow Blues, where he manages to convey the tiredness in his voice while still maintaining his signature Phoenix Wright mannerisms AND still conveying that genuine concern and sincerity Phoenix Wright would have toward someone going through such emotional distress as Raibow Dash was.
    To JuliusGem / Stephan Wright; you should be very proud of yourself for such a incredible portrayal of such a beloved character as Phoenix Wright, you've brought your own unique voice and performance to the character, while still doing justice to the character, try not to doubt yourself too much, you've done a fantastic job thus far, and I've no doubt you will continue to do a fantastic job for the foreseeable future.
    Now back to an important matter that was discussed during the last Director's Commentary, I'll try to keep it short due to the subject matter, as it relates to Overall Concept's 'Suicide' and JuliusGem / Stephan Wright's struggle with depression. First of all I'm sorry to hear you've had to struggle with depression, I too am all to familiar with constant pain and emotional baggage that comes with depression, especially when you reach that point... where you feel you can't continue going on, depression is not something I would ever wish on anyone, and I was absolutely on board with everything JulusGem / Stephan Wright said about Overall Concept just SUDDENLY decided to commit suicide right then and there, what he said is 100% correct, deciding whether or not to commit suicide is not something you decide to do and immediately do it, it's a process, it's something you contemplate for days, weeks, months, maybe even years, I too have been at that lowest point, and that's how it was for me.
    I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the writer's decision for Overall Concept's death to be ruled a suicide, as there is obviously more to it then that, and we don't have all the facts yet, but I'm incredibly excited to learn how the missing pieces of this puzzle fit into the full scope of this case, and how all these cases are connected. I just wanted to address the suicide angle just as JuliusGem / Stephan Wright had done and bring more awareness to the process of depression and how it can lead to suicide. I'm in a much better place now, it took years to overcome, and while I still get bouts of depression, I've learned how best to manage it and ultimately move on from those dark times, and I'm glad JuliusGem / Stephan Wright was able to too.
    One piece of advice to anyone suffering from depression; PLEASE talk to someone! For the love of all things good in this world; talk to someone, do NOT bottle up these emotions, doing so will cause more harm than good, I assure you of that.
    The best decision I ever made when dealing with depression was talking to someone, it likely saved my life and it could be just what you need to turn your battle with depression around, and don't ever think everyone would be better off if you were gone, because that is the biggest most damaging lie one can convince themselves of when struggling with depression.

    This episode and the scenes I worked REALLY showed my noobness when it came using Adobe Animate at the time. My experience is a LOT better now but I felt so troubled and awkward that I wasn't able to manage my workload efficiently. The other video editors luckily were able to help me and took on and finished the scenes that were still incomplete. And I am immensely grateful for their help. But from this moment of Animate noobness it strengthened my drive to get more training to use Animate and get better with conveying the AA mechanics through video editing. I did have a few scenes here that I completed by myself which I'm happy with.
    So it isn't too awkward to return to this episode.

    Oh hi I guess I am a fan :O
    Glad to see another Director’s Commentary! Hope to see them just a little more frequently than before, since they’re being prepped ahead to save on the editing time (kinda wished there were more notes from other team members like last time, but hey, the fan server does exist for a reason). A few odd parts that I noticed, such as some short pauses that occur from the recording, but I don’t think it takes away too much from the video.
    1:07:16 I can’t properly express how disappointed I am that “Fair Devowo” wasn’t even said

    I have a real question. Why did the designers of fair devotion give her a pony tail near the end of her mane that is over her shoulder? Because according to cartoon, anime, & manga logic, anyone or anypony with that kind of hair style is either dead or will end up dead. And Pear butter aka Applejacks mom has that style with her dead.

    This case doesn't really come together for use the timeline since unicorn skin teleport cuts down the time and distance travel. And the point of the case when we later learn that clone himself so that's another way of messing with time of events

      For as much as I don’t like how we used the timeline, I don’t follow how your points affect the way we used it. Teleportation and clones don’t matter when talking about the characters’ own words in travelling from one location to another.

    The difference between Magical Mystery Cure and what Twilight went through is natural progression. In MMC, their situations were artificially forced onto them. Twilight did have her situation forced onto her. But it was the natural progression of fate, not some artificial spell.
    And no, Celestia did not make Twilight an Alicorn. If you watch the episode, you'd see that Celestia never cast a spell. The magic that transformed Twilight came from within Twilight herself. That's why what happened to Twilight is not the same as what happened to her friends. What happened to her friends was artificial and reversible. What happened to Twilight was fate.
    Also, saying that Twilight transformed into an Alicorn is also misleading. Because technically she never transformed. What happened was that the Elements of Harmony disintegrated Twilight's old body. When she came back, it was a completely new body. In other words, while she was in the ethereal plane, Twilight was technically dead. But I digress.

    • @nightcrawler7893
      @nightcrawler7893 2 роки тому +1

      We have watched the episode. We know what happened in it.
      Celestia ensured that Twilight fulfilled her fate, so she played a big role in making her an alicorn, by means of a direct spell or not.

    • @jarvyjared8543

      The "natural progression of fate"..
      Is that not the same as something being decided for her outside of herself? How can fate, which is preordained, have a "natural progression?"

    • @changelingkingcocoon5029
      @changelingkingcocoon5029 2 роки тому

      @@nightcrawler7893 I'll grant that Celestia guided her. I mean, Celestia chose her to be her replacement. But when I talk about fate, I'm talking about something that's out fo the control of even Celestia. She knew it had to be done, but not enough foresight to know for sure it was going to be Twilight.

    • @changelingkingcocoon5029
      @changelingkingcocoon5029 2 роки тому

      @@jarvyjared8543 Why can't preordained events be considered natural? But if you want to get into a semantics argument about the definition of "natural progression of fate", then the cause of preordained events is nature.
      Even in the real world, what we consider free will is just an illusion. Fate *IS* nature.

    • @jarvyjared8543
      @jarvyjared8543 2 роки тому

      @@changelingkingcocoon5029 I'm sorry, I have no idea what exactly you are trying to argue here. There are two issues you've yet to clear up for me. Are you saying you don't think Twilight didn't have a choice with her ascension? Therefore she did? But why use fate, which implies no choice anyway? Even this "natural fate" you speak of still smacks of the pulpit and inevitability. A natural end still is an inevitable end.
      Why bring up "the real world" in any of this? What are you trying to contest, here, exactly?
