Why didn't you just do a circle or two over one of those nice large fields? You had plenty of time and height to set yourself up for a proper landing in the center of a big field with a couple of turns. You didn't really make any turns at all. Honestly, dealing with landing in private property that may have a cow in it and having to climb out over a fence is much better than crashing in a tree, which you essentially did. You were just fortunate to keep flying out of the tree. Stay safe out there man! Maybe practice spot landings to build that confidence.
I'm just sitting here laughing about my future as a potato under a wing when I look at a guy that's a pilot and I see how much there is between a potato and pilot
You passed on so many perfectly good landing opportunities. On a day with barely any sun so really no chances of a flight-saving thermal. I would have landed safely...
As I've written before, the target was a small field near the house (seen at the end of the footage), but I was surprised by the big fence and decided to land in a more dangerous place (plus I fear cows)) )... Yes, this was a mistake. I share this negative experience and hope nobody will repeat my mistakes. :)
@@kurkotava801 Typical example of target fixation. Make sure you have a back-up plan. When the target seems less reachable, switch to your back-up landing location.
@@kurkotava801 You were already too low over the planned landing place to begin with, and should have switched to your back-up landing location much earlier. For a safe margin, you should be able to make two circles above the landing field before touching down. Two circles also allows you to assess the wind, which may be surprisingly different than you expect. But I appreciate putting it on internet, so others may learn from it as well.
So many nice big fields to land on! Rolled the dice with that one, glad it worked out!
thank you to share this footage. Best example of taking worthless Risk for nothing. Better having a good walk than a bad crash! Stay safe
That was great I was looking for a place to land three or four times before you finally got one.
I think you took useless risks!
Yep, as a result. But I'm scared of cows, private property and fences ))))
Thanks for sharing. Very generous of you for others to learn from. Those wide angle lenses also make things seem closer than they may really be.

I absolutely and completely agree with you!
@@kurkotava801 but that would have made for a boring video
That was funny and close call!!
tight thing!
fly as far as possible, ha ha
Aha, as far as possible from cows and fences ))) But I am not proud of myself :)

Yes,good landing!
excellent ❤
Godness! So Closeeeeee!!🤯🙌😎
Better to make a bad decision rather than no decision at all.
Maybe go back to easier landing sites to get so practice.
You were lucky this time.
Jap, I've been lucky for 19 years in a row )))

omg!!!!!!
wow 😰
Way to stretch your glide
Là on voit les atterrissages réussi reste à voir ceux qui finissent dans les arbres...😅
Un jour tu te feras mal.
Var būt. Aptuveni 2-3% no manām piezemēšanām notiek apstākļos ar palielinātu risku - fakts. Cītīgi strādāju pie tā. :)
finito que es para el Gato !
Way too close
whats that bell noise after landing?
XCtrack app said "discharging" maybe
Is this down in Bassano?
Yes, flight www.xcontest.org/world/en/flights/detail:kenguri/3.4.2023/10:07
This was really unnecessary of a risk to go over those trees...
You're right. It was a spontaneous (and stupid) decision - I was surprised by the fence at the planned landing place.

@@renedekker9806 jap, I was overconfident, you're right.
Like a pro))
