I love it. I'm used to cook such cooking with chicken and butter / coconut cream. No soaking the rice for 30 minutes. Marinate the chicken thigh for 30 minutes with Indian masala (spices), salt, MSG and some butter. Then put them all under the rice and put some water as usual ratio of rice and water, onion, raisins, then cooked in the rice cooker. Sometimes i've used coconut cream instead of butter. Subtitles: First wash rice
😆😆😆
Still better than nothing. And, also we wouldn't be here w/o subtitle😆
@@satishpatro I appreciate the video just thought it was funny 😄
what she really said is something like: "then add clean water and wash the rice. rubbing rice gently like this is enough."
Wow, this is a great recipe, thank you for sharing. Your instructions are so simple that even my basic Chinese is enough to understand!
I'm vegetarian, so trying to think about converting this to my tastes, but this was one of the most relaxing videos I've watched in a while! Thank you for the inspiration.
Remove the pork and use firm tofu ?
Make sure you chop that tofu up into cubes, then pan fry it giving it a firm crust before you add it in the rice cooker.
Look up the recipe of "Pulao", which is an indian dish cooked in a very similar way. And it's delicious.
@@aisirirkvan Thank you so much!! I will be looking that up.
@@vukkulvar9769 I thought about that, but I'm sure the pork here is giving off some fat/moisture that tofu (or tempeh) would not. Would I have to add additional liquid?
I like the basic music.. And the food looks delicious..
This looks soooo good. I would love to know the quantities of rice/water you used.
Isn't it typically, add rice to pot and cover with enough water to reach your first knuckle?
@@Nnyv I know in Japan this is the case as long as the rice is soaked before it's cooked.
@@frithbarbat I use the finger method even without soaking my rice (I usually soak my rice, bur my other half is less patient). I don't have a rice cooker (yet) and still cook my rice in a pot on the stove, and I've never really had an issue. Before learning the finger method I used the (Western? North American?) method of two parts water to one part rice, and my rice *usually* came out okay, but I do prefer rice using the finger method.
Love this recipe. Will try. Please include quantities of ingredients in future videos.
You are the master of you menu....your free to modify and arrange the ingredients.
i don't think you could mess this up...after all, it's just you cooking and learning. best wishes.
I love the little kitties! The rice looks delicious 🤤
Awesome... This is what we call biryani 🥘😋😋😋
I’ll try this tomorrow but with chicken 🤤
Post your results if you do. 😋
@@carollynch8319 cooking it right now. I didn’t have any carrots or corn so i left those out but the star anise and the cinnamon really do give it such a nice fragrance while frying. Adding in the smell of frying chicken and caramelized sugar... so good 🤤
Putting it all in the rice cooker now, will post another update later
I was a bit worried it wouldn’t all fit as my rice cooker is pretty small, but if you reduce some of the rice and veggies or meat it fits fine
@@carollynch8319 it’s really good! Although, if you’re not used to the taste of star anise and nutmeg you might want to leave them out (or take them out early)

it takes practice to find the right amount of water so the rice doesn't get too mushy, thank you for sharing

I use same volume of rice and water when using rice cooker.
@@AlejandroPosadas trueee, like if you use 1 cup of rice = 1 cup of water, that should be good.
什麼類型的電飯鍋?
Looks delicious!! I wonder if tofu could be prepared the same way as the pork belly for a vegetarian.
Good idea. Maybe do it with extra firm or even super firm tofu since it gets cooked twice. 😋
This is a great idea, I’m not that creative with the way I use my rice cooker normally. Look forward to trying this!
I love Thai food and just subscribed to your channel. Anxious to taste your recipes. I lived in Bangkok for a year but then the government changed. It was a pity because I really liked living there. Everyone was very friendly and the food was outstanding.

Anyone else find this woman's voice more soothing than anything ever?
Ikr hahaha
I don't like the Chinese language. But her voice is sexy! ❤️
That is my version of Indian Biryani for easy cook. Now I would name yours "Chinese Biryani" !!
I could eat the whole rice that’s left in the cooker. 👏
Se ve rico, lo intentaré. Gracias por esta receta. Saludos desde Uruguay
