I'm 30 and always built models as a kid. And forgot about them over the yrs. But thought of them again the other day when I seen a model bike. And these are phenomenal. From the size to the perfect details etc. There expensive asf though. But I understand that there's 100s of parts and the detail size etc. So I see why they are 700 plus dollars.

I have purchased the 1:4 Ducati 1299S model kit in 2015. I built it and display the finished model for less than 2 years. then I found the plastic windscreen of the model bike has turned from clear transparent to opaque.
In 2017 I emailed Pocher (hornby hobbies UK) to asked if they have a spare visor part, they replied and said can't help me. Now they are releasing a special of this model, I wonder if they now may be able to offer me a replacement visor part. Thanks
The plastic is not UV friendly by the sounds of it, pure daylight & sunlight will make cheap plastic discolour, on clear parts it looks terrible, there is an chemical additive which should be added whilst the plastic is in it's pellet form, this additive isn't cheap but makes the plastic more brittle and doesn't go white, numerous toy manufacturers don't use the additive as it's expensive.
Always best to display models out of direct sunlight and NEVER have spot lamps pointing at the models because this will do some damage.
Instead of emailing Hornby/Humbrol/Airfix, phone them and talk to someone real, it's so easy these days to just give an abrupt reply via email, so get talking ☎

de dichte kant van de kettingschakelaar moet altijd gelijkstaan aan de looprichting van het wiel/kettingtandwiel....doe je dit op een echte motorfiets....is het maar een kwestie van tijd dat de ketting breekt....en alle kanten op kan vliegen...….de gevolgen zijn dan niet te overzien.

the chain-link clip should be installed reversed. It can fall off this way. And then you have a problem on a real bike...

They put the master link clip on BACKWARDS!. The closed end always faces the direction of rotation. Sorry to point this out. I own motorcycles and know the rules on chain installs. Look it up.

They are still going. I have bought their latest ducati panigale anniversario in 1/4.
I thought the same. But they do still have two ducatis and a lambo on there site. It could just be because there expensive and don't sell alot maybe? Because I'm sure these are not that cheap to manufacture? But there's other companies that make these motorcycle ones in the 1/4 scale.
