Tom, thanks for this most excellent "show and tell" , "compare and contrast." I've always thought that Enzo considered the Lusso to be an inside joke. Yes, it is luxurious with all the leather and the great diamond-stitched rear parcel deck. But, for luxury (?) the door handle and the window crank are placed exactly opposite of the positions they occpy on almost every other car. So, when you reach for the door handle you get a window crank, and vice versa. There is no power steering, no power window, no AC and no radio. Virtually no storage whatsoever with the exception of minimal map pockets, with no console. Well, the gauge layout IS quite unique, but that hardly justifies its complete lack of practicality. No driver I know, would rather know what time it is than the rev count. However, there can be no denying that the Lusso is one of the two most beautiful cars in the world. (The other being an XKE roadster.) Great video fun to watch.Thanx again. Steve Meltzer.
Didn't expect a video this close to Christmas Tom. Nice pause in my busy day. Like many people, I find the Lusso stunning. You make a great case for both.
You're welcome and Happy Holidays! I challenged myself to try and post a new video every week in 2021 and I did alright. Now that I have a system, look forward to more in 2022!
Wasn’t there a time when the Lusso wasn’t so loved? I don’t know if this is true but wasn’t it considered too feminine at some point. What made it appreciate faster or more than the GTE? Same seems to be true of the 246. Beautiful cars. You’re blessed to be around them.
All of these cars at one time were considered “used cars,” but have certainly become very desirable in the last several years. GTEs from the 70s through the 90s weren’t very popular, but also took off in the last 10 years. Thanks for watching.
Well there is a nice digital Christmas present from the most underrated UA-cam channel at the moment! Thanks Tom, this is a wonderful insight in these two cars. And what a coincidence that you have them both in the same colour combination. Great work!
You’re welcome! I’m always happy to shoot a video making connections with the cars that come into my shop. This one was a great coincidence! Thanks for watching!
I’m glad you like the channel. It may not be for everyone, but I get to share the interesting and cool things about working on these old Ferraris! Thanks for watching!
A late coming remark I know, but I’m curious how Tom feels working on a true masterpiece valued at $1.8M versus a car valued much lower. My impression is that Tom treats each with the same level of respect, precision and commitment. A very belated, “Thank you, Tom!” Dane
I treat every car as if it were my own. It can be nerve wracking to drive a $$$ car, but if you spend too much time thinking about it, you’ll be frozen in fear. Just be careful and don’t do anything stupid. Just like with my own cars!
Merry Christmas, Tom, and thanks for yet another great video about our favourite cars. I think the Lusso is one of the prettiest road cars ever made but still can't get my head around the goofy dashboard layout; however, the GTE is elegant and so much more practical for most drivers, especially bigger fellows like myself who like the extra room in a sedan - it'd be my choice.
I guess the Lusso is the compromise of the 250SWB. That car is not only pretty, but has a normal gauge layout. The only problem is it’s 5 times the cost of a Lusso! Such is life! Thanks for watching!
The Lusso was built by the Scaglietti Factory following Pininfarina's designs, and the GTE was designed and built by the Pininfarina Factory. Even though they built nearly three times as many GTEs, they were still all hand built cars. They also cost about the same when new!
Not That i could 'Afford' Either 'One'....i prefer The 250GTE for its more 'Conventional' Dash...& that 'Extra' Overdrive GEAR!!! ..3 Litre 12 Cylinder Ferrari's are 'BEAUTIFUL' None the less!! Enjoy!! Thanks for Sharing Tom! Cheers From Canada.

Maybe in the early sixties, Ferrari's definition of "Luxury" was simply a quilted package shelf! Thanks for watching!
Didn't expect a video this close to Christmas Tom. Nice pause in my busy day. Like many people, I find the Lusso stunning. You make a great case for both.
After a previous career in television, my work schedule is rarely affected by holidays and weekends! Thanks for watching.
Hey Tom...Merry Christmas from Down Under. Thanks for another great year of Ferrari videos to watch.
You're welcome and Happy Holidays! I challenged myself to try and post a new video every week in 2021 and I did alright. Now that I have a system, look forward to more in 2022!
All beautiful cars but the Lusso is definitely the prettier sister! Thanks for sharing Tom.
But the GTE sibling is not a bad looking sister! It’s almost not fair to compare. Thanks for watching!

No better qualified comparison out there. Merry Christmas Tom!
Merry Christmas Harish!
This video is a Christmas gift:)
Merry Christmas 🎅
Happy to share it. Enjoy and thanks for watching!
Merry Christmas Tom. Really enjoy your channel. So great to hear an expert discuss the details of these fascinating machines.
I’m glad you like the channel. It may not be for everyone, but I get to share the interesting and cool things about working on these old Ferraris! Thanks for watching!
Nice job. Enjoyed your thoughts. Thanks for sharing.

Great videos Tom! If I had 2 Million to spend It would be a tough decision between the Lusso and the 330 gts.
I agree, that would be a tough choice. I think the Lusso is prettier, but how could I pass up a Vintage Ferrari V-12 convertible!
Fascinating as always, thanks Tom, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your crew. Looking forward to many more videos in 2022 👍🏻
Happy Holidays and you can be sure there will be plenty of videos in 2022 if I can help it! Thanks for watching.
@@tomyangnet Looking forward to it 👍🏻

I enjoyed the video. Nice job!
Either design will stand the test of time, I’m sure. …and so will the 330.
They have already passed the test as people still covet them today! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing this !
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!
Is the 250L an example of a hand-built car versus the 250 GTE being more mass produced, if you could call it that?

with your eyes closed, the sounds and feel are very similar! Thanks for tuning in!
I like the GTE
A good looking car with usable space. Thanks for watching
I thought the Lusso is a SWB and the GTE is a LWB.
Yes, the difference between the two cars is 200 mm in wheelbase.
