I get that her songs especially from the new album wouldnt sound as good with just one vocal so using heavy backing tracks works for those but the fact that she seems to sing pretty much nothing live? (None of the old goldfrapp songs sound like they are live either) is disappointing. Maybe her voice has lowered with age, understandable in her late 50s but I'd rather hear her attempting to sing / change parts around / or even to do maybe 50% of a show live? Cuz I'd argue her new shows sound 95% non live and i'd be disappointed with that because tickets are expensive nowadays. ...edit not trying to hate i love goldfrapp and alison is very talented / creative plus she has a great voice which is why its a bit disappointing to see her pretending to sing?
@@WicCaesar yes good point. I mean maybe not changing her voice to be really deep like the knife do at times :p but you can get mics that sort of edit your voice can't you which she could use sometimes. Though again she has a great natural voice so too much of that would seem a shame? Idk. Love the knife though.
I saw her 'live' at Somerset House recently and agree, it sounded like 95% playback. Seen Alison live 10 times and never experienced this before and was really distracting the entire show. What I don't understand is that I went to the Felt Mountain 20th anniversary shows just last year and she was singing live and her voice, whilst it has lowered, hasn't deteriorated. If her solo stuff was beefed up with effects that's one thing but when she sings older Goldfrapp songs in her solo shows she now sounds like she's miming them too and I'm just wondering what's going on?
I'm 64 been a fan for years. Going to see her live for the 1st time, I'll probably be the oldest there can't wait. Love you Allison ❤❤
Making homemade pizza tonight with this album on sonos speakers in the kitchen just the best time.
No cheese please.
23 years... still in love.
Just Always loved her!!!
Unique
Hoping Ms. Goldfrapp comes to NYC again soon!
AAAAAAAAAH THANK U T.T MOTHER ALWAYS SHINING
Alison
Ahh i get it. She using 80% backing and the rest is sung at a very lower register than the original.. wow i expected more from her
Was it REALLY live? Doesnt sound as live vocals at all
It's double. She sings along with an album version with some slight changes, just like Madonna does

She could do it like The Knife, digitally altering their microphone live.
