Nah, Steve Walsh did the hand stand better. If you want to see how well he moved around on stage while simultaneously playing his Hammond, look up Kansas's song Song For America and Carry On Wayward Son at Canada Jam 1978.
Nobody does stuff like this now... Must’ve been amazing to see live. Damn I just though it was cool y’all. Like when he would get up on it and jump off it. Maybe cuz he was one of the first to really hop all about like that. My b
'Prince', 👍🌹 also inspiration behind the piano besides Mr. Stevie Wonder, self-contained. Mr. Elton John or Sir Elton John. Then, Prince with his own brand if theatrics as well thru the years in stage. Wow,👏I been a fan of his music but those theatrics outstanding. First time seeing this Dec. 14th Tuesday morning in 2021. Thank you God bless both Sir Elton John and Mr. Prince Rogers Nelson. Thank you for the upload and stay healthy thru this holiday season. ☃️🍁☕🍎😎🇺🇸🎹🎸🎼
He did handstands up until 2012. Allthough, during later years, it was not even close to as energic as back in the 70’s. Still really cool he kept going for as long as his body would allow him to.
@@truthbydesign5146 actually it helped him more than hurt him . Of course it will be a while before he recovers from the surgery , but at some point he might feel up to it again .
Those old timers had energy.. Freddie, Elton,Mick, Elvis .. Paul McCartney goes non stop during his concerts. Little Richard.. Must have something to do with their lower body fat levels..
This is great! Only ever saw still photos and didn't know he did it multiple times in rapid succession! Amazing how rapidly he lost his hair after that, tho...
By "amazing handstands" do you mean "he can't do handstands"? Because I can't do handstands, and that's exactly what I look like failing at doing handstands.
David Attenborough narrative "...and we can see here when the perfoming evolved ape consumes cocaine jovial states of unrestrained enthusiasm become commonplace"
My apologies.. but I personally don't understand or catch the appeal of this spectacle, but to each their own, respectively. I actually like Sir Elton's music. But the act....? I guess you had to be there.
Freddie had the Ay Oh
While Elton had the handstand
a better comparison is his half microphone stand that Freddie swung around.
It’s pretty cool that you mentioned both as they were close friends.
They were friends until Freddie died

Ray Davies of the Kinks did the 'day-oh' stuff before Freddy. I saw both bands a few times in the 70s/80s.
Coke is a helluva drug
Lol
Beat me to the punch
He is off his rocker
He started using it only in 74
He was not on any type of drug during these years.
People forget what an amazing performer Elton was back in the day...his show was a must see!
Nobody does stuff like this now... Must’ve been amazing to see live.

Well cocaine is a helluva drug
It was! 1977! He was amazing!
no they do actual crazy stuff now lmao
I think it's worse nobody dares so much musically speaking any longer...
Elton is Awesome
Years of doing this has done his hips and knees in.
Yep, he just had a hip replacement this year
I think there might be other activities that damaged his hips and knees. 😜
@@ryanpatrick131 Sex, Frank?
I don't see why it would
@@jeshkam Not right now Ed, we've got work to do
He was nuts!!! And I love his music. Man is incredible.
Those good old coke times....
Elton started to talke drugs in 1974 and these clips came from early 70's
Simplesmente Elton JOHN
😂😂😂😂
He needs to do one of these at his final ever gig what a sight to behold it would be
i would like to see it.
He just got a hip replaced
he did that till 2011. now his hips are bad
he's still standing

Just saw him last Sunday. I'm still speechless 🌈🎹✨
This footage is off the charts

Tive o prazer de assistir ontem o filme Rocketman, e ele fez isto na apresentação na primeira apresentação dele nos Estados Unidos no Troubadour.
The first one is from May 10 1971, the next one is from April 23 1971, then the next November 29 1970
bless you
Damn, what were you the roadie? 😂
wuwuhwuh... the first one is from may 10 1971, the next one is from april 23 1971, then the next november 29 1970... wuwuhwuhhh..
I don't think Elton John could do those handstands now
he did it in 2007

@@eliassandgren3132 he did one energetic in 1982.
He just had a hip replacement this year, so I think that probably cut short his handstand career

The fact it's narrated in japanese make it even funnier
Oooh so this is why he was floating in the movie
Lol the ending
Over the top !!
After hoovering up large quantities of marching powder, Elton does the business.
Those old timers had energy.. Freddie, Elton,Mick, Elvis .. Paul McCartney goes non stop during his concerts. Little Richard.. Must have something to do with their lower body fat levels..
probably just the coke
Miley Cyrus has energy…in the bedroom.
@@AnnaPark90 not probably
It's definitely the come
If I tried that I'd probably end up head butting the Piano and face planting the stage 😄
Manager: "Give them a show, give them good memories, give them your best Elton!" Elton: Hold my beer!
Sir Elton not only sunglasses collector, trophy gymnast too.😊
This is great! Only ever saw still photos and didn't know he did it multiple times in rapid succession!
Amazing how rapidly he lost his hair after that, tho...
Wow amazing perfect
Gee whiz, Elton sure went extra in his day. Even Little Richard would have thought twice before doing that in his time 😮
la cantidad de falopa que debía tener encima, que genio
Amazing handstand? No. Great to watch, esp back then, absolutely
COKED OUT OF HIS MIND
1st level: Jerry Lee Lewis
2nd level: Elton John
3d: Steve Walsh (Kansas)
2nd Little Richard
Well said.
@@dnlcr9467 Agree.
AMAZING
?
How is that amazing exactly?
I'm with you, I don't get it.
Yeh, what's the big deal ?
idk its entertaining to watch. plus no one has really done that on a piano before.
I wish to see this once again
Pretty athletic for a short pudgy guy. But Elton was much younger when he did those moves.
He's not that pudgy here and he's not that short I believe that he is 5 feet 8 inches in height...
Elton rules. Period.
xoxo The Clarences
❤️Elton👍
Muito bom,me lembrou o vocalista do Van Halen que usava o mesmo estilo de rouba e dava vários pulos e saltos...Jump ✌🏽
Not exactly a handstand per say, but more of a spread eagle dive of some sort.
Legend says the origin of scorpion kick came from sir elton
its like a when a child uses an assisting railing on a trampoline
Yep.. Those handstands came in really handy
TV clip from Japan maybe in 1971
Yeah, they were saying he might break the piano lmao!
What's so amazing about this?
Elton proving they had good coke and speed back then.
Richard Simmons stole that whole vibe man!
Adult: ”Yes, you can play the piano.”
Kid:
Why doesn't he still do this!!?? JK.
lol
Muse were something too in the early 2000’s
He learnt those moves in the bedroom
Why do i get the feeling this was like a pilot for the first workout video.
Wowwwwww!!
Cocaine was like “hey I wanna perform too! I bet I can do that while doing a handstand!”
I would love to do thaaaat✨
By "amazing handstands" do you mean "he can't do handstands"? Because I can't do handstands, and that's exactly what I look like failing at doing handstands.
He kisses his piano at 00:15 so cute. 😊
Lots of energy, maybe give it a try now see what happens.🤠
Amazing what you can do with coke it's the real thing 😉
Idk if I'd called those amazing but yeah

Not really handstands, are they? More like something an over-excited toddler might do
You see coccaine is a wonder drug
Guess he’s a top.
Ok...
I believe there other reasons as to all that jumping lol
It was the lsd
Cocaine's a hell of a drug.
I wonder if he still does this for his husband in private 😆
Amazing is a bit of a stretch
More of a mule kick than a handstand.
