Personally I've been running mostly building stride -> zeal x2 -> hullbreaker -> PD -> RC -> steraks/BC/shojin -> sell boots for dead mans if very late Phase rush into 70% of matchups, grasp into tanky mele like mundo/malph/ornn/shen and conq into champs I know I can out trade consistently like irelia and jax or trundle (otherwise he just deleted me regardless), hullbreaker is just so busted that it's practically free wins if my bot lane and jg don't hard int but once I hit mid game 80% of the time it's 1v9 potential. Looking forward to S14 to see what types of builds are possible since PD and stride are both getting nerfs but I personally enjoyed crit garen before IE and navori became mythics, so maybe returning to RC+navori+IE+collector/PD, I still see stridebreaker being the go-to with galeforce being removed. Overall I feel that garen is probably going to be somewhat weak next season just because the item changes and meta shift for top lane, probably going to be much more ranged focused for a bit if not champs like fiora/camille that can abuse sunderer/hydra more than current. Not really sure. Somewhat looking forward to it but also unsure as a garen otp
man, i wish i could destroy a Illoai like this. This one gifted him early prio which is huge, and she never jumped on him...i thought Illoai played really passive.

I always smash Garen with Tryndamere, taking ignite + revitalize + doran's blade + all in level 2 or 3 if crit bar is 75%+
